Earlier this year, while cleaning out my home office files, I came across documentation from a project dating back six years -- one that had never been fulfilled. To be completely transparent, I had forgotten about it until now. I reached out to request a $200 refund for the uncompleted work. Despite providing clear documentation and context, my request was handled dismissively. It's disappointing that after years of loyal business, The Drapery House refused to honor such a simple, good-faith request. It makes it clear they do not value long-term customers. It's also worth noting that The Drapery House is not BBB accredited, which may help explain the lack of accountability we experienced. It's a shame when a company known for quality undermines its reputation over something so small. Kitchen Direct and the President/Owner Peter Curti took $35,000 of our money and never completed…read morethe renovation of our kitchen. All our bottom kitchen doors were made incorrect. We were given plywood doors and drawers when we paid for real wooden doors. All the staining was missing throughout the kitchen. Front and bottom panels were never installed and a top cabinet door was never made. Because of the wrong size cabinets we also cannot access our trash or recycling bins. The cabinets we chose were Showplace Cabinetry and even though our kitchen is under warranty, Showplace refuses to do the warranty work. Showplace will only deal with the Kitchen Direct. Throughout the entire kitchen renovation there were a multitude of mistakes, errors, inaccurate measurements etc. Scott C. sent us a letter telling us that he was too frustrated and that he quit. We fought this for months through the BBB and the RI Attorney General's office. Kitchen Direct is not a reputable company. The AG's office does not have the authority to force him to complete the work, or to have his license revoked. We have called Showplace and sent emails to the President, only to be hung up on and emails that went unanswered. We have been living a nightmare, and we do not have the money to obtain an Attorney. After paying $35,000 our only option is to paint the entire kitchen and hire someone to build a cabinet door and all the missing panels, again, we do not have the money! If Scott Curti has a rebuttal with this complaint, PLEASE BE AWARE!!!!! Do not purchase any cabinetry from Kitchen Direct, Inc. or any cabinetry that is made by Showplace Cabinetry as they will not stand by their mistakes and only will deal with the kitchen company direct and not the homeowner. When we met Peter, he knew exactly what we were looking to do and suggested various design options. We trusted him to design our kitchen and also select the best cabinet line for our vision. We were not easy to work with because we were VERY specific with our wants--- we tweaked our layout around 50 times before we finalized it. Peter was very attentive and updated every little detail as requested. He made what would normally be a stressful process a seamless one. Our kitchen is beautiful! Gregs's expertise with products and installations proved invaluable. Greg's assistance and guidance really helped in making the best decision for us and our situation. We discussed what options were available and best suited our needs and budget.  We had an undesirable, complex problem - an old, collapsing bulkhead, hidden under a "trap door" of an old deck. We weren't sure if we should have a new bulkhead installed, in a different location, have an egress window, in a different location,  (options which would allow us to have a deck without the bulkhead underneath) or replace the existing bulkhead and have a patio. The issue with the last approach is that there was a drop after the deck was removed.  Greg worked with our landscaper to install the new bulkhead such that the landscaper could backfill the area for the porch.  Greg and Mike did an outstanding job removing our old bulkhead and installing a new one. They are skilled, meticulous and extremely polite. They treated our home like it was their own and the quality and care for my house was second to none Their concern and care for the customer really shows through in a true and genuine manner. They "go the extra mile".  I highly recommend this company.
