I had Window Source replace a Harvey sliding Patio Door and three Harvey Casement Windows. I went with this company because they sold Harvey Products as I have 28 Year old Harvey vinyl casement windows that are as good as the day they were installed and the original contractor is now retired. Anthony came over and wrote a proposal on the spot detailing my purchase. The price was fair and honest and the installation and product was perfect! Their salesman was completely unprofessional and even insulting. He didn't take a single measurement on any of our windows and instead simply sat down at the dining room table without asking. He had a completely unmerited swagger about him. His first question was "How much do you know about windows?" Seriously? I was a bit surprised but said I'd done a bit of online research and had a couple other window companies provide estimates and learned from their inspection. He gave me a condescending look throughout my explanation, like I hadn't tried to inform myself before investing into our home. He started to explain the U-value, which I'd already learned a bit about, but then stopped himself mid-sentence and asked if I'd seen their video online. No, I hadn't. He pulled out his phone and had me watch the video, which was full of salesman gimmicks and completely lacked in personal touch. That was it, that was his pitch. He asked how many other window companies I'd had visit and provide estimates. I told him two or three. He said "Why are you bothering with that many?". He told me that there was only one thing I needed to know about windows, namely online reviews. Duh. I told him I'd only requested estimates of companies with decent reviews. Finally, he wrote down an estimate on scratch paper. Instead of providing me with the paper, he asked if I wanted to take a photo of it with my phone. The other companies who provided estimates emailed me official quotes or provided them on paper with company letterhead. What can I say? Another company got my business. read more

This place is a real joke. I had 8 windows installed in 2021 and Wayne quoted us a price. Then Richard came over and changed the quote saying Wayne didn't factor in that my windows are new construction windows. That should have been first red flag. They both said a whole team comes over and it will be a 1 day job. Well on the agreed installation day I was told they'd be there at 9 am and come 930 I got a call that the everyone called out and they'd have to reschedule. The following week they sent 2 people who started the job and I could hear them saying that they didn't know I had new construction windows. After a few hours they said they were done for the day and didn't know when they would be back. The two windows they installed were half assed and crooked. My dad came over and said what kind of f-ing work is this? I had to call the owner and figure out when they would be back to fix what they messed up and finish the other 6 windows. He then proceeds to send only 2 guys again who took all day and one couldn't be bothered to clean up the mess. This place sucks and I'd avoid them at all costs read more

Bought a bow window a few years back from the owner. My order was to be a 5 section window but I got 4. The window is nowhere near the cost of what I paid. All glass sections have vapor locks. I had to call for adjustments twice. The second time I was told that I would need to pay for them to come to do the adjustments,. In fairness I did not have to pay and the owner came himself and did the repairs. Although the window is extremely light, I probably won't need a replacement for some time. I own a two family rental and needed two basic replacement windows in the hallway. I chose Window Source because they were a little lower than the first quote. Rich came and measured and I gave a deposit. Price also included removal and disposal of old windows. Work was done a few weeks later. He left the old windows behind and I had to call him to come and get them. About a week later I went to the rental to examine the windows. The first floor window had a gap about 1/4 inch at the bottom! A brand new window that let's air into the hallway! When I called him about it he said something like, "you need a carpenter for that. I just install the window.' So, I didn't have a gap before this window was installed, but now I do. There may be satisfied customers out there, but sadly I'm not one of them. read more

My experience with this company was terrible. The only reason I'm even giving them a single star is because they did show up when they said they would. Back in November, the owner/installer knowingly installed defective windows in my elderly Mom's house. The snap beads on almost all of the windows were awful. Instead of lying flush against the window exterior, most of the windows had a corner which overlapped creating large gaps. My Mom and I noticed this when I started cleaning the windows after the owner/installer finished the job. I immediately called him. He acknowledged he knew about the defects. I asked him why he would knowingly install windows in this condition, not mention anything, ask for payment in full and just leave as if everything was fine? His response was that the defects were only cosmetic. We refused to accept that. Between November and April he came out to the house four times before it was somewhat resolved. On two occasions, the windows he brought out to correct the problem were the wrong size and had the same defects. He blamed the manufacturer. While I understand he doesn't make the windows, I was surprised he did that. I unsuccessfully tried to contact the manufacturer myself. It seems the manufacturer is an LLC owned by another LLC with no contact information for customer service or complaint resolution. I called the number provided with the warranty information and they referred me back to the installer. After the third failed attempt to complete the job properly, I asked him to refund my Mom so she could hire someone else. He refused. Shortly thereafter, I received a call from the manufacturer's Regional Direct Sales Manager. While he was apologetic, he wasn't much help. If we had to do it all over again (hopefully we won't), I'd work with a well known manufacturer that is willing to speak with customers to resolve issues. Being forced to resolve everything through The Window Source of Rhode Island was not a good experience. Don't be fooled by the television commercials! read more

Very dissatisfied with the finishing (or lack of) work by Window Source. Bow window in the living room was replaced and installed. Below the new frame, there was a three-inch length gap which was 96 inches long with holes within the plaster. The caulking used was not the correct type of calking which was discussed and agreed upon with the woman at Window Source. She told me that the workers were told not to use the caulking which was used. There was a patchwork piece of aluminum on the outside the bottom covering which shouldn't have been visible. After work was "done", I had to hire a contractor. He had to plaster the holes, sand, and attempt to match the paint on the walls. He also had to replace the incorrect caulking. The total cost for repairs was $520 to fix the unprofessional work which was completed by Window Source. A complaint was filed to the B.B.B of RI. There will also be a claim with the small claims court. Pictures of all of the above was provided to Window Source. I would not recommend Window Source to anyone moving forward. read more

They went above and beyond to clean everything up and the before they left they even asked me if I loved the windows because if there was anything I didn't like they'd fix it. I got quotes from six other window places and Window Source RI was the second to last one. I wish I started with them it would of saved me about 12 hours from all those pesky salesman who are still harassing me a month later. They beat everyone's price even with there 4000 series window. This company is a nightmare, had widows, doors and vynal siding done, started in june and we are still fixing unprofessional work in October, the subcontractors ripped are house apart with no regard to detail, they put a hole in are main electrical line outside when they weren't even supposed to be working on taking that off, thats why we paid to pull a permit for an electrician. No one cleaned up after themselves, and no one spoke English so we couldn't even communicate with them when we saw things going wrong. We were promised by the owner Richard that a supervisor would be on the job at all times that we could talk to and that lasted for a day, then he would just come and leave without even telling us, staying no longer than about an hour, then we were left with no communication again. When he said the house was done we looked and there were a bunch of issues, like open unsealed spaces, dented material, uneven placement of electrical boxes, holes in are new expensive dutch lap vynal siding, that they tried to cover up with corking, and so much more. We have pictures of proof and the owner Richard just said that we were to much of a perfectionist and regular people would be fine with the job. How unprofessional to even talk to a customer like that and even other people have seen our house and have the same opinion as we do, they can see the horrible work before we even say anything. Now the owner has a new guy from ANOTHER company trying to fix the mess, but he (who is very nice) has his own business and unfortunately can't get to our house alot. We been living a nightmare for 5 months now and things are still not complete and we don't know when it will be. PLEASE I BEG YOU ALL DO NOT GET INVOLVED WITH THIS COMPANY, THE OWNER HASN'T EVEN BEEN IN CONTACT WITH US FOR AT LEAST TWO MONTHS NOW, he obviously can't be bothered and doesn't care or something more would be done to get this job done right and in a timely manner. We had windows installed in our upstairs floor by the previous owners of the company and were very satisfied. When we had the downstairs windows installed by the present owners, we thought we were satisfied until one of the windows began to have condensation on the outside. My husband called several times during the pandemic but there was never anyone who answered. He called again last week and set up an appointment with the owner to come and check out the window. The day before he was to come, he called to say there would be a charge to check out the problem. Needless to say it does not appear that they stand by their product. This is not what the previous owner would have done. The window in question was installed by the current owner who obviously no longer cares about a customer after the purchase. A product is only as good as a company that stands behind it. Customer satisfaction is certainly not their top priority. Plenty of other places to buy who would provide better customer satisfaction. Overall really good experience with Window Source RI. They are a very well-run family business that exercises transparency and quality in their work. We went with the middle of the road vinyl replacement windows and we love them. Great sound-proofing and not drafty at all. The only complaint I have is that some of the caulking done after installing was done in a hurry and not very thorough. We had to go back and go over it again ourselves. Also a tip: get your windows installed BEFORE doing any house renovation projects. Inevitably, getting the old windows out and new ones in will inflict some damage on your window frames (cracking, chipping paint). They tried to get all the spots, but missed a few. read more

Just met with the rep from Window Source to get an estimate on some windows. In my opinion, the sales call was unprofessional from the start. The gentleman did not introduce himself, offered no ID or business card, had no literature-didn't even have a computer on which to show me the windows. When I asked him to write up a quote, which I thought would be on some kind of company letterhead, he tore off a piece of legal pad paper and wrote down some numbers. Work on properly preparing your sales staff. If this is the kind of sales presentation you are allowing, it needs a lot of work. We had our windows installed almost a month ago and I'm still finding issues with the installation!!!!! We got 12 Windows replaced in our house and the installation was a mess from the get go. First off, they were late. We called them 20 minutes past the time they told us they were going to arrive to see where they were and their answer was they were still in Johnston, they were leaving in a few minutes to get dunkin donuts and after that it would take around 40 minutes to get to us. Already we were pretty annoyed. Once they got here there was nothing but cursing coming out of their mouths and cigarette smoking right outside the window (I'm pregnant and a non smoker to begin with so it was pretty disgusting). My restroom was used without anyone asking (we were having issues so I removed all soap and towels, left the TP) and since there was no soap I knew the gentleman that took a stinky #2 didn't wash his hands! My toilet paper roll also went missing, someone was using it as tissues. Again, didn't ask. I put a note on the door to please use the restroom down stairs and they continued to use it anyway. The owner used my house phone to contact customers which was fine as he didn't have reception. Until he used it for a personal call and had his clients using it to call him back... Their supplies were all over our furniture and white linens without anything between them, left a few gouges in it. I put their tools on the floor and asked them to not put them on our furniture or bedding, they only did it once more and got the hint when I put them on the floor again. The capping on the outside of the Windows are garbage. Full of gaps, the Windows inside have many scuffs and in a few rooms they used bathroom caulk so now that I'm going to paint the sills for my baby's room, I can't! The paint is beading right off. Screens don't fully touch some of the sills allowing bugs in. The only good thing I can say is I have 12 Windows that function and I have noticed a difference in heat/cooling with them. Otherwise STAY AWAY. Pay the extra money for a real professional. read more

My wife and I saw their ad on TV and decided to give them a try, especially since they back their work and products with a "Life-Time Guarantee". The salesman showed up on time and he was professional and very friendly. We ordered an "etched glass" Colonial Grid slider door. Though it did take longer than expected for the factory to ship our door to Window Source (we were told that it took the factory longer than expected to deliver the door due to the etched glass), the installation was flawless and the door is as beautiful as we hoped it would be. It is of high quality and slides very easily on the composite track. Plus, the "3-point" locking system is great. During the install, Richard and his crew explained everything that he was doing and ensured that we were satisfied prior to departing.
