We were thrilled to be able to book Storm-Tite Home Improvement to do the job. It was the best investment we ever made in our home, which we plan to stay in. The pandemic had set us back from our original plans to start the job in Spring of 2020. Lumber kept rising and building costs soared. Frustrated with waiting any longer and fearful that wood rot and bees would continue to plague us aging seniors (along with the Covid pandemic) we went in search of a quality reputable contractor. As seniors, we were fearful of being taken advantage of by con artists who prey on the elderly. We settled on Ed Ladouceur's Storm-Tite company, after many glowing word of mouth reviews, and after visiting a job site in progress nearby. From first contact it was a home run. Ed responds quickly to your calls. He will come to your home and assess your needs and work up an estimate in a timely manner. He's professional, friendly and not a high pressure salesman. He has a whole team of pros to attend to all the needs of your remodeling job. Storm-Tite also has a store front in Warwick where you can peruse different product lines in person, safely. He's got top-notch carpenters, siding installers, electricians, window installers, roofers---everything you need. Storm-Tite uses only the best products. We had a variety of siding styles and brands to choose from. Ed helped us save money and still achieve the curb appeal we desired by combining products when the cost of using the premium product for the entire job climbed out of reach. He shows up everyday on the job site to check in with the crew. I liked that we discussed underlying problems (rot) that were found and corrected them before the house wrap went on. You will not get a one man band. You are hiring an entire competent and friendly team to get the job done quickly. They supply port-a-John so workers are not traipsing through your house, and all debris is trucked away daily. The yard was left spotless. Every detail was worked out from what style window to the doorbells, lighting fixtures and hose bibs. The installation was done off season and workers showed up everyday rain or shine. To Charlie, Richard, Tawn, Steve and rest of the gang---thank you for your integrity, skill, and professionalism! We had complete vinyl (Norandek) siding in "Steel Blue" installed (with full Certenteed insulation wrap), matching blue steel awning over our air conditioner, 3 Harvey replacement windows, 2 custom built storm doors, all new rain gutters with leaf guards and downspouts, Invisiguard beaded soffits and all new vinyl-alloy trim in white. Our house is 34x26. The 10x10 shed was sided to match. Storm-Tite is not cheap, but remember: you get what you pay for. Do it right and you only have to do it ONCE! Worth every penny. If you want quality work, excellent communication, and ease of mind, hire Build Pros. We originally wanted to have our microwave vented out (rather than circulating air and grease in the kitchen) and add a second banister to the stairs to the basement to make them more safe for our growing toddler. We were also considering having our spare basement bathroom remodeled. The bathroom really wasn't very functional because it was built in pieces (so the gross tiny stall shower wasn't even in the bathroom). That was a big job, and we wanted to get a quote for all three pieces. The first two jobs were too small on their own, so we hired Build Pros for all three. They were amazing to work with, and the work they did was the highest of quality. The team was extremely communicative, and we always knew when they were coming, what they were doing next, and what to expect. Their spreadsheet system made it really easy for everyone to keep track of what we had selected, costs, etc. They helped us a ton with design decisions, made recommendations when appropriate, and made sure we were happy with absolutely everything before moving forward. Our house stayed unbelievably clean, given the level of work they were doing, throughout the process. Mike and Rouben were fantastic at reimagining the layout of our bathroom, taking all of our priorities into consideration. John, their carpenter, is a master. We went way over budget, but a lot of that was my fault. I wanted a bathroom that was functional, but the more we talked and designed, the more I realized we actually could get a really *nice* bathroom that wasn't just functional, but high end. They did a bunch of other random things in the area too. We just were so happy with their work, and they were already there, so we asked them to fit in a few small things and they were awesome in getting those done too (adding a couple outlets in the adjacent home gym, replacing our outdoor water spigots, etc.). We are extremely happy with the final products. We even had a water problem shortly after they finished. They fixed it swiftly with no charge. It might have been a part issue or a labor issue, and so in the beginning it was unclear whether we were going to have to pay for repairs right away. I would have been very disappointed if they had charged us, and have all the more confidence in them since they fixed it and stood by the work and warranty. The only real negative was that sometimes when we had to make a decision, and the team gave us a quick "off the cuff" estimate about how much a few different options would cost, the estimate was really a fair amount lower than estimated. That contributed to some of our cost increase, but in the end I think we would have made the same decisions regardless. We're extremely happy with the final products. We even hired them again and they're starting work at my mother-in-laws house this week! I'm already dreaming of putting an addition on our house in the future, and we will hire them absolutely if/when we do this.

Consumer BEWARE…read more Extremely Disappointed - Faulty AC Installation, Water Damage, and No Accountability We hired UBH Heating and Cooling expecting a straightforward AC installation. Instead, we endured over three months of ongoing issues, property damage, and a complete lack of accountability from their team. The problems began when they installed the wrong system. After noticing that our home wasn't cooling properly, they discovered the error and replaced the unit. However, the replacement was not properly tested, which led to more issues: the system was extremely loud, the fan ran continuously for days, and wires were left improperly connected. Most seriously, due to poor installation and a failed safety sensor, the system began to leak water. This leak caused extensive damage to ceilings on both floors of our home, with visible water stains in several rooms. Their only attempt to address the issue was to apply a bleach-and-water solution--a superficial and ineffective treatment. We were told full repairs and repainting would be scheduled, but those promises were never fulfilled. Eventually, the company stopped responding altogether--no follow-ups, no repairs, no accountability. Communication throughout the process was unacceptable. We had to repeatedly follow up, often reaching out to multiple people just to get basic updates or schedule service. Technicians were frequently late and had to return for repairs multiple times, causing us to miss several days of work. During one visit, they left the attic door open despite being asked to close it and left standing water on our shelving--further demonstrating a clear lack of care and respect for our home.This experience has resulted in financial loss, emotional stress, and countless wasted hours. What should have been a routine installation turned into a prolonged and costly ordeal--with no resolution and no responsibility taken. During the project, they discovered mold in our ceiling, which understandably extended the timeline. While we acknowledged this issue and a few other adjustments, the contractor assured us they would finish by Spring 2024 - an expectation that was never met. At first, we received endless excuses--sick workers, bad weather, material delays--but soon they stopped showing up altogether, often without any notice. At one point, they left our roof without shingles for six months, covered only with Tyvek, exposing our home to the elements. Despite paying in installments, we eventually learned they were low on funds and had been working on other projects simultaneously. To keep progress moving, we were forced to purchase materials directly and deduct the costs from the remaining balance, but the delays continued. When they came, they never worked more than 6 hours per day and took numerous breaks. This dragged on indefinitely, and we were left chasing them for answers. This project stretched for 2 years, and they finished 95% of the job then stopped coming. We finally gave up on them and finished part of it ourselves and hired another contractor to finish the rest. While the work that was completed was well done, we would caution potential clients about H&H Home Improvement's financial mismanagement, lack of accountability, and ongoing delays.
