years ago this company was run out of a business located at the corner of North Main street and Grand view street on the east side of Providence. these fuckers found it "ok" & "neighborly" to BLOCK GRAND VIEW STREET every morning with delivery trucks. I use to call and berate them because it was a safety issue. they did not care. even though i sold my real estate portfolio in and around the east side of providence i would NEVER give these clowns one cent of my money. read more

I am writing this review based on the quoting and sales/purchasing process, as I have not yet received the windows I purchased, or had them installed yet. I will absolutely plan to update this review through the lifetime of the project and my windows, which I am very excited for. When you buy something you usually know instantly if you have nervous feelings (second guesses) about your decision, or if you made the right one. Right now I can confidently say I feel like I made the right one, and in actuality should have made my decision sooner. So far I have nothing but good things to say about Venture Window. The quoting process has been very straightforward, and easier than other companies I tried to get quotes through. My sales person, Scott, has been professional, honest, courteous, and dependable from the start. I have gotten other quotes from other companies and found them to be overly salesy (and some of them quoting insane prices) but Venture Window, and Scott, pretty much tell it like it is with no sugarcoating. Venture Window also had extremely competitive pricing for the tier/range of window that I wanted (mid tier). Venture Window is different from other window companies because I felt like they were the most human, and I can say I interacted with a lot of companies before making this important decision. I felt like Venture, represented by Scott, was empathetic to the reasons for my purchasing a window and more importantly to my budget. Rather than getting a one-size-fits-all glammed up sales pitch complete with a free pen and keychain, I instead got a professional conversation, two-way dialog, and some honest and valuable education on windows, to meet the specific needs I was looking to solve for (energy efficient and budget-friendly) which totally demonstrates the caliber of the staff. Another word to describe Scott is patient, which created a sense of ease in the purchasing process. There was not a moment that I felt rushed through the entire purchasing experience, and my purchasing decision probably took longer than most people. I had a chance to visit the showroom before my final purchase decision to physically compare the windows. There is quite a huge selection from to the most basic/budget-friendly window, up to the most premium cadillac of windows. They had a lot of unique windows like skylights and the fancier natural wooden ones. It was really valuable for me to see the windows in person to be able to see how they open, tilt inward, the locking mechanisms, and the construction, to see the differences in the windows that I had the options of choosing. There is only so much you can understand from a brochure. In the showroom, Scott explained the subtle differences between the windows (things you can see, as well as things you cannot), as well as how the windows I was considering differed from the most budget-friendly option, for comparison sake. This was a good learning experience because it shows that in many ways the statement 'you get what you pay for' is so true, while in other ways, any new window will be better than my current 110-year-old, super drafty and rickety windows. For example, did you know ALL windows must be manufactured to a certain minimum quality standard? I did not know this before working with Venture. I was glad to visit the showroom because I could see that for the price, the option I selected is of good quality. In fact they seem more durable and sturdy than a lot of windows in places I've lived before, or the windows in friends/family members' houses. Once I literally felt the quality and construction of the window, I could tell that I was making the right decision. If you care about your crazy heat bills and are wanting to some modernity, like me, you can't go wrong with Venture. I'm very much looking forward to getting these windows installed and the added comfort and energy efficiency that will come along with them. My window was installed 5 weeks later than the estimate I was given, but it was worth the wait. The installers were friendly, professional and fast. Every window they installed has failed. Every single one. Getting them to replace them under the "lifetime warranty" has been quite an adventure. They now refer you to someone else if you need to process the warranty. After 4 Phone calls and a "yeah yeah, we will get you the information on who to call" I'm still waiting. I always try to shop local and avoid the big guys but this was such a bad decision. Got the information I needed AFTER this post and 3 phone calls. Still had a unacceptable failure rate of windows and a patio slider. Submitted claim to manufacturer. We will see how that goes. Their voice mail says most claims evaluated within 4 weeks. read more

I'm really impressed with Venture. We've worked with them several times now, replacing the windows on our nearly 100-year-old house, and every time they're been efficient, professional and extremely helpful. Let's face it: there's noting glamorous about windows and doors. You want security, ease of use and once you've made the purchase, you don't ever really want to think about them again. Walking into Venture isn't all that exciting, but once the sales people come over to help, it's a really easy process getting to the bottom of what you need an how much it will cost. Pricing is reasonable and includes a consultation and visit to measure, and the installation which is huge. All windows have to be ordered specifically for the job, so expect to wait a few weeks for the actual installation to occur. Another thing I love about Venture: they're locally owned and operated, and have been for the entirely of their 30-year existence. Support local, people! It's always better to work with the guy you can call in 5 years when you need some help (or to buy more windows!) read more

We were looking for replacement windows on our 40 year old house which had the original old wooden single panels. We check numerous companies for quotes and decided to go with Venture windows. Their prices are lower than lots of more WELL KNOWN companies and we couldn't be happier with the job they did. Very professional and great installers. I definitely recommend Venture Window. At my commercial location, I had a screen door installed, along with work on an existing outer door. Bruce, one of the owners, came out to do the estimate. During that time, he was straightforward, gave me options, and recommended that I could still use the existing outer door/not have to replace- saving me some $. He and his staff were great with communication through the whole process. After the estimate and placing the order for my door, they kept me informed of the timetable. On my install date, Steve the installer was great- kept me informed on what he was doing. I'm very satisfied with all parts of the job. As an update this your typical RI business that gives you that "good ole boys feeling" when you walk in. If you don' t know what that means then you havent been in RI long enough. I ended up buying from Home Depot all 8 windows shipped to the house for $535 Apparently they arent as custom sized as they thought. Maybe it was wrong for me to insinuate the reasons for why they were discourteous and ill own that. But treating potential customers like they are unwelcomed is unacceptable. I'm self-employed and would never treat my clients like this. Job got done and saved hundreds elsewhere. Lesson learned. read more

I feel so relieved when I find a good contractor. I've hired some fantastic ones, and I've also been burned with ones that turned out to be hacks. John, one of the 2 original owners, arrived at my house and gave a very through explanation and presentation. They were my first....and only quote. That's not something I normally do, but I felt I could trust these guys. Venture Window is locally owned and they do their own work...which is huge. Its easy to go with the big box stores for windows, but you'll never know who will actually do the work...you'll get whichever contractor the store chose (for the lowest bid). I had Venture replace all 11 windows in the house. They required a small down payment and didnt ask for the balance until all the work was done to my satisfaction. The 2 guys that did the work had 10 and 4 years experience respectfully. They showed up on time and didnt rush the job. They were very courteous. (They even tried to bring back my cat that had jumped out one of the window openings) With the rough openning exposed, they took the time to explain why the fairly new windows (put in by the previous owner) failed. At the end of the day they did a thorough job cleaning up the debris around my house. Its worth noting that Venture does more than windows and skylights, they do everything on the exterior of the home. Great company to do business with. read more

I might mention first that Venture travels to parts of Massachusetts (and Connecticut from what I understand but that doesn't affect us), so if you're having difficulty finding a reputable company nearby give theses guys a call- they will absolutely try to accommodate you. So, after speaking with a neighbor who used Venture, we called them to give us a window estimate for our entire house. The owner, John, provided us with a very informative 45 minute presentation including sample windows, product literature, references and insurance information. The prices for the various windows were pre-printed right on their product guide-spreadsheet and were very competitive. We had 26 windows installed right on time (4 weeks) and love them. The installers were very respectful of our home and did a great job. We had a small problem with one of the screens and they returned promptly to fix it. One of the many reasons we went with them is that I've heard nightmare stories of people buying windows at say, home depot, independent contractors would install them, and if you had a problem or warranty issues you wouldn't be able to track them down.
