I questioned him about a window, he said not an issue. The installers came and stated the new awning had to go higher or I would not be able to use a window, so I said okay. Now that new awning is higher than what the estimator stated, it does not block the sun in evenings. Also, they didn't plug the holes from the old awning nor hide the power cable as promised. I attempted to work with the company to get the proper size awning for the height, they would not accommodate me.

I came home for lunch and it appeared a bomb went off (in a good way), entire perimeter of the house was covered in tarps and anything fragile was covered to protect, the main house was striped and shingled except for the front portico. My shed was stripped and was going to be complete after lunch. I came home from work and everything was picked up and put back in place. There were a few perennials that were damaged (no problem they will grow back), bear in mind landscaping was covered with a tarp, ladders and bundles of shingles are heavy. The crew uses a large pull behind magnet to pick up nails, all we found was 1 nail = great job. My wife and I could not be happier and can't wait for the rest of the work to be done. Together, we checked out several used 6 x 8 mirrors at a nearby gym, looked at a few other mirrors I had in storage, and did a recon trip of the mirrors' final destination. As I showed you, there are several parts of the construction that were not done correctly. However, some of them I can live with. The problem that I have is with the 3 parts that I pointed out to you. They need redoing because of improper installation; in the vernacular, they "look screwy." The 3 are: 1. angles of railing on stairs is inconsistent -- looking front-on, the left rail has a pleasant angle while the right rail looks straight. 2. the base, into which each stair post on bottom stair is placed, is skewed, does not follow the line of the railing, the two do not line up properly, and they are not flush on the bottom stair. 3. on one column the top cap is broken Again, while I can "live with" some of the other problems, the cost of $40,000+ for the job merits a relook/redo of these 3 items. I await hearing from you with a plan and timeline. Thanks for your time. End of letter. I paid the bill with the promise that they would return and fix the mistakes. Here it is 6 months later and despite my frequent phone calls to them, they do not respond.
