I contacted Don, the owner to ask if he could come by and repair it. He didn't seem enthusiastic to help us. Instead of coming over to look at the issue, he tried to walk me through repairing it over the phone. I sent him several pictures to show him what needed repairing. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to repair it with his guidance and I asked him if he planned to come out and take a look for himself. Instead of trying to accommodate our situation, he simply said, I don't think it can be repaired. I attempted to call him again and again, only to be ignored. Needless to say we never received a call back. That was very disheartening to say the least. We felt at that point, once we gave him the sale, he didn't feel that he owed us anything. I would NOT recommended Distinctive Window Designs.

I felt it important that this review be written, because when someone does a "fantastic" job, stands by the product, and responds to calls immediately, then the public should know. The blinds that I ordered were beautiful and in the course of installation, we approached a few snags--which Paul remedied with ease and in a timely fashion. Paul alerted me to rebates that were being offered and did his best to find me the best price for the selections that I made. Even now 2 months since installation, one blind was not working and he quickly ordered me a replacement and will complete the installation when it arrives. In today's internet shopping and the fast paced lives that we all live in, this type of quick easy service is most appreciated. I would recommend Paul and his company to all.

Earlier this year, while cleaning out my home office files, I came across documentation from a project dating back six years -- one that had never been fulfilled. To be completely transparent, I had forgotten about it until now. I reached out to request a $200 refund for the uncompleted work. Despite providing clear documentation and context, my request was handled dismissively. It's disappointing that after years of loyal business, The Drapery House refused to honor such a simple, good-faith request. It makes it clear they do not value long-term customers. It's also worth noting that The Drapery House is not BBB accredited, which may help explain the lack of accountability we experienced. It's a shame when a company known for quality undermines its reputation over something so small. In some rooms we went with honeycomb blackout shades, we also went with roller shades, and even a motorized skylight shade that runs on solar power.
