This was my third time going to the Avery, and it consistently delivers delicious, fairly priced drinks. Service was quick at the bar given that there was only one bartender on a Tuesday night, and there was ample seating. The ambiance is great for grabbing an after-work drink with friends or coworkers, or going on a date. I would definitely recommend going for a drink there and then getting ramen at pickerel next door!

The vibes here are lounge-y and cool. I love this dark bar and especially their St. Germain cocktail. This is a great neighborhood spot in the west side.

Passed by on the way to grab hot pot with some friends when I noticed the building. We all went for drinks after dinner. It's such a cozy little spot and I got probably the best cocktail of my life. Definitely wont forget this place.

Plenty of tasty drink options, comfortable seating, dark yet relaxing ambiance, Stylish interior, and friendly service. Great spot for couples.

    Bar interior...dark and cozy.

Had a great Manhattan there. Enjoyed the drink outside listening to the fountain. Perfect spot for a drink!

This is a speakeasy style bar in Federal Hill in Providence. It does not have a splashy entrance and it is embedded in a residential neighborhood, so it is a bit unexpected. The decor within is dark but with well detailed woodwork and ceiling work. Cocktails were excellent and the atmosphere relaxed. We were only there for a drink, but we did have a nice time and we will likely come again if we're in the neighborhood.

Cool Art Deco Bar. We stopped year one Tuesday evening and it was a very chill, if not some what, dark atmosphere. They have a great cocktail list and the space - amazing tin ceiling tiles and stunning laser cuts at the bar - is super cool. Great bar to relax for a date or small group gathering. TL,DR: Cozy (read: very small) bar Excellent Cocktails Cool atmosphere

This place is nice and dark and has good, cool vibes. It's a little loud for a sit down at a table place, but the chairs are really comfy. The old fashion had a bunch of ice cubes, not one cube. Never seen that before, not that it matters that much. Old fashion was a 7/10. Two people got the Garden Mule, one person gave it a 9/10 and the other gave it a 7/10. They both said it wasn't sweet. Only one of them had a Mule cup. The Malbec wine was only a 6/10. The service was good and the spot is cool. They have a cute little outdoor area.

    Meh... nothing to write about

The beer is amazing and it is so beautiful inside this bar. I feel like I stepped inside a 1940's movie.

Is this a cigar friendly lounge?

Sorry for my previous answer (wrong cigar friendly bar was in my mind). But no, not that I am aware of. There were people smoking outside but not inside from what I could remember.

Not the kind of place I really want to sit in and enjoy a cocktail. Dungeon like. The music is loud hip hop, not something I mind, but worth noting if thats not for you. I sat at the bar, and honestly didn't feel like it was super clean. I don't think the counter had been wiped down for a while. Staff were doing their best but seemed overwhelmed on a Saturday night. I was watching them make the cocktails and did not feel like it was very sanitary. They've got one small sink they're rinsing everything in, they were chucking stuff, literally chucking and slamming metal. They were dumping out people's drinks into the same side of the sink and then rinsing in the other side. But stuff was splashing into what should be the clean side. It's not a good setup for a cocktail bar. The cocktail menu had 8 drinks on it, 2 they were out of. Nothing had whiskey in it. I got a drink called Darjeeling something. Really didn't like it, didn't taste balanced and it looked different than someone else's who ordered the same thing, not sure if the bartender forgot an ingredient. The bartender also wasn't tasting the drinks which I usually see to ensure it was made correctly. This one had curry in it as a listed ingredient and it was just way too strong a flavor. It was a rum drink with some mezcal but it just tastes like mezcal and curry powder. The place was pretty busy but people were coming and going frequently. There's only one bathroom which really isn't enough for a bar. Seems like there's potential here but I didn't like the menu offerings and the sanitary concerns leave me with no desire to come back here.

Our server was attentive and gave us great suggestions. I tried four cocktails some from their new menu and some of their past drinks, they were all great. THE FOOD -We ordered the dip trio, each of them was delicious, my favorite was the lemon hummus. -the ratio of chips to dip was not good and when we asked for more chips it was a $5 charge we weren't told about. Since it took a bit to get the second round of chips we had to leave most of them and the dip to get to our show on time which was a bummer. THE DRINKS -delicious!!! Great, accurate descriptions -I tried the parsley one and it was so refreshing and perfectly herby. I've told everyone about it! -I also tried the apple anise which is accurately a mix of both apple and anise flavors! I forgot I don't like anise much so it wasn't my favorite but again still accurate and well made. THE SERVICE -very kind server! A lovely woman in the restroom overheard my friend and I unsure on where to venture, and she suggested this place! Moody and welcoming. Absolutely loved it. We went in ~10:45 on a Wednesday pm. Apparently they do live jazz weekly as well, but we'd come too late. A handful of bar patrons, a couple making out in the back of the dining room at their cute table, a lovely bartender, me& my bff. We really hit the jackpot for ambiance last night. Decor in there is so cute. I wish I took a picture of the table lamp on the bar. It was embellished with beads hanging on the rim of the shade. Our drinks were top notch. Mine was a citrus vanilla profile and hers was a savory martini. The sandwich, I had one bite of it was yummy. I don't like imitation lunch meats though. CATFISH was breaded and fried fabulously. Not oily. Crispy and crunchy. So happy to have discovered this place! The bartender told us they just celebrated 6 years of business!
