    I found Mark here on Yelp and engaged him based upon his good reviews. We weren't disappointed. Mark completed a multi-room installation for us over 2 full days. He ran to get parts a couple of times because I changed things on him without notice. He also picked up a huge TV for us when it was too big to get into our SUV. His installation was clean-looking which is a BIG DEAL for me. He cleaned up his working areas both days and left our house better than he found it. He also followed-up with us the next day to see how things were. I would recommend him to anyone wanting a first-rate, professional job.

    I always have my TV's professionally calibrated. Recently I upgraded to an 82" Samsung 4k QLED TV…read more Unfortunately I was not very familiar with HDR (High Dynamic Range). The resolution difference between 1080p and 4k is not that great but seeing a movie in HDR can be quite dramatic. I bought the TV from Best Buy and paid for a calibration from them. Well the guy that came out to do the calibration was able to calibrate the TV in SDR but could not get the TV to switch over to HDR to calibrate that color gamut. So basically I paid for half a calibration. I decided to go to a professional calibrator. The 2 businesses that I spoke with were Busch Home Theater and Beeswing. Both businesses were not very familiar with the newer Samsung TV's and said that they needed to do a little research before agreeing to work on my TV. Robert Busch called me back and basically told me that we was unsure if an Autocal with the Calman software he uses would work with my TV. More alarming he said that there was a chance that it could end up bricking my TV and he would not be responsible. Steve at Beeswing called me shortly after and said that after doing his research he was pretty sure he could do the calibration. So needless to say I decided to go with Scott. I made an appointment for a Saturday and Scott arrived right on time. He brought in his equipment, (even took off his shoes which I appreciated since we have cream colored carpet) and got right to work. He spent about 3 or 4 hours doing the SDR and HDR calibrations. Right away I could tell that his SDR calibration was better than the one from Best Buy. Unfortunately for some reason my TV was acting up and was not switching over to the HDR color gamut for us to do a visual appraisal of the HDR calibration. We tried swapping out cables, connecting my 4k players directly to the TV and it seemed like the culprit was my Emotiva XMC-1 processor. Luckily later that afternoon everything went back to normal and my TV displayed HDR correctly in my system. Guess everything just needed to power cycle a few times to re-establish their connections. Oh the joys of HDMI protocols. The only reason I did not give Scott a 5-star rating is because I feel his prices are a bit high. The price he quoted me for the calibration was $550 which was already very expensive to me. But because Scott spent about an hour trying to help me troubleshoot the HDR display problem he ended up charging $600. I realize that this ended up taking up more of his time than originally budgeted for and I appreciate his willingness to help but $550 was already quite a bit more than I wanted to spend on a calibration. I felt that I was paying for a service not necessarily for something that was billed by the hour. But I certainly can't argue with the results. I've watched a few 4k Blu-rays since the calibration and HDR looks absolutely spectacular. Makes me want to re-watch all of my 4k movies. Scott is very nice, super professional and definitely very good at his job.

    REPOSTING DUE TO BUSINESS OWNER HIDING REVIEW! (That Should…read moretell you the Full Story!) Think twice before hiring this Company to do any work at your home or place of business. The Owner is in debt up to his eyeballs. He does not pay his own bills. They rented a home from us and lied about being under the Executive-Order-N-33-20-COVID-19. All the while working through the mandated "Shelter in Place" just so he didn't have to pay us rent. He still owes us over $4500.00  in back rent. This is our small business. We are not in the business of real estate to pay to house any family. The family left our house in ruins. Dogs and (Cats.. which they never disclosed to us) chewed the drip system, and urinated all over the interior carpets of the house. We have since had to replace all the flooring. If the owner of this business conducts himself in that manner, what type of businessman is he? What will he do in your home? He has so many aliases and different business in the years. I don't know how he keeps up with it all. The wife bounced checks all over Atascadero when hiring cleaning personnel. We had a very negative experience using your company. So we are entitled to leave a Yelp review like this. If you'd prefer, I can remove this review and just post photos of the very sloppy work that you charged us $50,000 for.

From the excellent customer service in their…read morescheduling office, to the 3 installers who showed up to do the job, you want to use this company if you care about the security of your home or business. Scott, Kent, Dylan and Junior were all excellent communicators and patient in explaining everything they were doing. I'm no tech genius and getting up there in years, so if I can quickly learn a home security system that I can use both on my home TV and on my smart phone, anyone can. But only if you have the right people to do it. Smith Alarms may not be the least expensive, but they provide excellent quality equipment, installation and service. Highly recommend!

These guys operate like a car sales lot. I had to call twice to get a response on the phone and they did not respondto my email back to them like they said they would. Then they had some story about charging $129 for some necessary part first. And I needed to sign a 3 year contact too. It seemed to me liked he was trying to set up me to buy a new alarm system saying "the 3gig Edge system was not set up to be taken over by a new company - so you need to know we may not be able to take that service over even after you give us $129". So I googled "alarm monitoring company" and found AlarmGrid.com. They said nothing about not being able to take it over. They said it was bogus about the $129 part. Stating with ALARMGRID.com Within 3 days I was scheduled for a new monitoring system using the same app alarm.com. NO EXTRA FEES! No new alarm system! It was so easy! No contract & $5-10 a month cheaper a month! Best of all - you can reach a manager or get reg. help you thru their website chat, And they will call you ASAP! What a story Smith Alarm has to get more money out of us!!! I do not appreciate the Car Sales type dishonesty of adding on unnecessary charges to my simple request.
