Colin was great! My wife had received one of those "Beware------------your computer is infected warnings!!!!". Then sure enough, the screen began acting strangely and my wife shut her computer down. I had seen very favorable reviews for Mustang Computers and called Colin Slaughter, the owner, and set a time for him to come to the house. He arrived at the appointed time and very quickly found and solved the problem. During his diagnosis he discovered other problems that unfortunately involved files needing to be addressed in "the cloud". His service charge was his hourly rate, we paid him for his time, and he said he'd have to return the next day to complete the service when "the cloud" had completed it's function. He came back the following day, spending a lot of time fixing this problem. I was thinking to myself this will be very expensive. Well, he said "glad I could help". We said, what do we owe you? I hired Colin to install ethernet wiring in my house. The job involved rerouting coaxial ingress to a different room in the house, and then doing 5 drops around the house. He is prompt, professional, and very knowledgeable. I'll also add that he patiently answered all of my questions in person and via email as this project developed. Starting with his phone etiquette in promptly returning your call for service, he calmly listens as you describe the problem you are experiencing and then makes you feel completely confident that he can can indeed fix your problem. This guy is a friendly, knowledgeable, and highly competent computer repair tech. I have brought him two machines with different issues. I am pretty comfortable handling most minor computer issues when I can search for solutions online and even open up a laptop if needed - but there is a limit to my knowledge and troubleshooting ability. That's when I call Colin, who has fixed what seemed like an impossible OS upgrade issue with a MacBook that had a non-Apple SSD, or a ghost keyboard that randomly typed repeated letters. I have an "old" 2012 iMac with a broken down hard drive. Apple refused to replace it, so I took it to Mustang where Colin didn't hesitate to help. Unfortunately, the glass screen had to be removed to get into the computer. It had to be broken in order to do this. There were no replacement screens easily accessible to him, but he persisted, nevertheless, and found one which took a very long time to arrive and was broken upon opening the package! He searched everywhere he could to find another one. Even before it arrived he replaced the hard drive with my request: a solid state drive. He then began to download my old system from my Carbonite account. Once the new glass was installed he called me to pick it up. This all took about a month. Colin was patient with my frequent phone calls and visits to the office. This computer runs perfectly now. I would recommend his services (other than the time delay which he had no control over).
