I bought a new laptop and was having trouble getting email accounts switched over with all of the folders. I took it in the same day I called and they quoted the work. Turned out to be a much bigger job than anticipated and took far more time than they quoted. Can I just say that Kohl the Computer Doctor is just great! I have a 4 1/2 year old Asus laptop that I use as my one and only primary computer for my own business. A few weeks ago all of a sudden the screen turned pink. Yeah somewhat better than "blue screen of death" but still....Since everything worked fine when it was attached to an external monitor, at first I thought it was the internal video cable. I called around and two other repair places didn't want to work with me because I wasn't a big enough business. One of them referred me to The Computer Doctor. I took it to Kohl, he ordered the cable, he replaced it and unfortunately --- that did not solve the problem. So he then recommended we replace the LCD screen he ordered that part I took it in today. I left it with him for an hour. And bingo it's completely fixed! And BTW he did NOT charge me for the original repair, only for the LCD screen replacement. I am so relieved because I have to travel for work on Monday and would have been stuck because I can't work on that laptop in the "pink screen" state that it was in. I highly recommend Kohl for his responsive and reasonable fix for any computer problem that you may have. And he's local to Orcut so even better. I consulted the Computer Doctor yesterday by phone because I was having issues with my Brother printer staying connected on the internet. My husband and I use printer sharing and have had more than one occasion when one or the other of us has been unable to print. After spending numerous hours trying to trouble shoot the problem on my own, I decided to bite the bullet and find a computer repairman. Koal took my call and was able to schedule Kevin, the owner, to swing by the very next day. Yeh!!! Kevin was able to set up two printers for us with the Wifi working correctly and showed my husband how to download the latest operating system, (Monterrey) from Apple as well as hook up his external hard drive. I needed some software removed from my laptop and a general cleaning up. They did what I asked quickly and were fairly inexpensive.

I have an older ThinkPad that was running very slowly. An on-line brief description resulted in a quick reply suggesting that I bring it in for a free analysis. It was discovered that my hard drive was giving out and there was conflicting virus software. My hard drive was replaced with a solid state drive and all my data was transferred to the new drive. The work was excellent and the price was much less than I anticipated, saving me from having to buy a new computer. Everything works perfectly now, booting in seconds instead of the previous half hour or more. I'm very satisfied, and I recommend them. read more

I'm normally skeptical of any company that gets only 5 star ratings, but it turns out Computer Doctor really does deserve the high marks I had a well meaning neighbor attempt to upgrade my computer with disastrous results. It was left in essentially an unusable condition. I called Kevin figuring it would probably take days to make an appointment and/or I'd have to take my computer to Orcutt to have it repaired. Much to my surprise Kevin said he'd be out that afternoon to see what he could do. He was able to get it working order within an hour. The following day he came back to take the tower home with him to download required updates. He returned the unit, after working his magic, and it currently performs better than it has in years.
