Chad Crawford and his staff helped us with problems on our 2 home computer systems. These have become essential parts of our lives. The first problem--a computer that would not turn on--they quickly diagnosed as a failed power supply, which they replaced overnight at a reasonable price. Secondly they helped me with a new Dell computer which I had purchased to replace an 8-year-old HP machine which was beginng to glitch when starting up, needing sometimes to be restarted 2 or 3 times and suggesting that the hard drive was becoming a problem. I wanted Quik Tech's help transferring my many programs and large music and picture files to the new machine. Chad informed me that he could clone the contents of my existing Windows 10 machine onto the new machine, so that the Dell would boot up with the same screens and all of my existing programs working as before. I did not know this was possible, but was clearly the solution I needed. He accomplished this cloning overnight. In the process he discovered some problems related to the facts that my old machine originally had a Windows 8 operating system which evolved over the years to Windows 10. Also over the 8 years of constant use it had acquired some hidden malware that my Avast anti-virus program did not find and eliminate. He told me that correcting these took him until 10 at night. He did not charge me for all his extra hours of work. By the next morning my Dell machine was ready. It has been working perfectly. I have all my programs, music and pictures. Used the guys to mount a tv. Wasn't quick but the delays amounted to a variety of reasons. If they're doing something for you make sure to ask about parts deposits before assuming they did a site visit and were ready. I dropped my laptop & needed someone to fix the plastic around the screen because I wasn't able to open/close it properly anymore. I'm located in Morro Bay so Quick Tech was closer than driving into SLO, and their rates seemed competitive to popular tech help business in the area. I called and explained to Chad what my problem was, and he instructed me to email back with a full description. I felt totally comfortable dropping my computer off with him for the consult & repair. We had to special order the required part but after it arrived he installed it in two hours or less, and so far it's as good as new again. Chad charged a very reasonable rate considering working on laptops is not easy, and I trust that he didn't sneak in any hidden fees or inflated costs (he gave me a receipt with full cost breakdown minus the part I ordered myself).
