James provided me surf lessons in Pismo Beach after Thanksgiving. I looked through multiple…read morebusinesses listed here on Yelp, contacted a few, and booked multiple lessons with James via the phone easily. I did Monday-Wednesday sessions for 90 mins. each day. We stayed around Pismo Beach and each day had a different vibe and experience. And, each was great in its own way. My first day with James was only my second day surfing ever--surfing once a couple months earlier in Santa Cruz. Learning with James has only increased my appetite and excitement for surfing. James is a very kind person and I couldn't have had a better instructor. He was patient, knowledgeable, professional, upbeat, passionate, and--maybe his best trait for me--flexible. He really zeroed in on making sure I was having the best experience and was happily offering me options to keep my progression going. He's a very genuine person that roots for you and has you rooting for him as well. I hope to return to the area in the spring and will be reaching out to James again. But for now, I'll be at a gym pool in Denver swimming, paddling, and practicing the pop up James has passed down to me.

Amy at american driving challenge is nothing short of a nut job. she made me cry every lesson that i did with her and told me i would never pass the test (i passed with only two points off). additionally, she encouraged reckless driving and did not make me feel safe or confident behind the wheel. she took person calls during the lesson, one being to a social worker who she was arguing with to get food stamps. i implore anyone seeking drivers ed lessons to steer clear of american driving challenge.
