Great customer service. Bought a stereo and backup camera from them and had some problems and took it back 3 times. Each time they were just as nice as the last. Didn't make you feel bad taking it back. They took the time to check everything and finally made some adjustments and it works great. Steve the head installer was great. Customer Service is bottom tier. Been trying to get in contact for a couple of days but I've only gotten one response asking the size of my truck. I don't recommend for car security installation. I paid them money to put some theft detergent equipment in my car and all I got was faulty alarms. I was not impressed from the onset. I should have left after they had a few issues while installing. Cannot attest their skills with audio. read more

Had issue with alarm causing my car to have intermediate starting issues, took it to two other shops and they couldn't fix the issue. Brought my car in here about a month ago to get the steering wheel controls added to my aftermarket stereo which I've had for a few years. All is good and well it works great but went to turn on the heat this morning and move my vents and alas the technicians broke a tab or two during the installation. I know it's a common occurance I work on cars myself and have done the same. What is not acceptable is that the technicians were not upfront about it, but instead kept it a secret and hoped I didn't find out. read more

I'd like to say that Audio Connection turned a bad experience with them into an A+ one. One of the stores messed up and made me have to buy extra parts to fix an issue with the amp that they installed, which required me to have to take another day off of work to get my car sound fixed. Not only did the owner apologize profusely but he promised to make it right - and he did. To top it off, I see a partial refund of what I paid on my credit card (which he didn't even tell me about, nor did he have to do). They stand by their word, and make things right. I went to this business in Columbia MD. to have a car cam installed. I believe I was overcharged ($250)for the job. They were much higher priced compared to other places in the area. But I understand that all businesses have their right to charge whatever they want. They told me it will take 3 hours to install. I said okay. I sat there for 3 hours while they worked on other people's cars , at least 4 others; and I was there before all the other customers came to the store. When they told me they were done with my car, I looked around, I was the only customer there. All the other customers were served and gone. I felt that was not right. I didn't say anything. I was not sure why they treated me like that, I have an idea, but I'm not saying it here. I will never go there again. I will take my money elsewhere. read more

I went to audio connection because my Dodge charger had no sound coming from the speakers the radio worked but I never had sound I just had brand new body work done and I wanted my car to be up to par. Audio Connection did a fantastic job of installing four new speakers and I was satisfied until my passenger side window rolled itself down without me pushing any buttons. I get out of the car and go look at my passenger side, and the door panel is completely ripped apart from the seal and mangled the store manager and the store employee put the blame straight on me after I just spent $600 on four (4tiny door speakers. they refused to accept any fault even after being provided proof with pictures that my door panel was fine two days before they did their work, they told me I needed to go to an upholstery place to have it fixed, they left me high and dry and would not assume any type of responsibility I'm not trying to brag but my pockets are deep and audio connection has not heard the last of the situation I will fight this until the very end If I have to. It's not about the money it's about Principals and good business. I have pictures of my door panel two days before and I have pictures of my door panel after they put in my speakers. it's one thing to say let's work together on this to resolve the situation but it's another thing to say hey you messed up your own door panel we had nothing to do with it, sorry buddy. Customer service should always be first but in this day and age integrity and honesty doesn't exist very often. Be careful who you do business with and if you're not familiar with the area as I wasn't, ask some of your friends for advice because businesses like audio connections on 1735 E Joppa Rd Parkville, MD 21234 United States will rip you off one way or another and will sleep perfectly fine at the end of the day. Two times I've brought my car to this company. The first was an installation for a relay. They did excellent work to install a radio bypass at their Pasadena location which has unfortunately closed. I then had a stereo installed in my 2013 accord by the Columbia location. I requested specialized wiring to retain my fuel efficiency screen. That would be lost with the standard metra kit installation. At no point did they say I don't recommend it or you might loose functionality. What they said is we will try and it will take some time. That trying cost me all day waiting at their shop and over $800 in labor alone. I provided the radio and the metra mounting kit. If they would have said I might loose functionality in other areas ,I would have stopped right there and have them install it normally. In the process I lost my vehicle functions (oil life reset and tps reset ability). I realized this when bringing my car in for an oil change. To attempt to resolve this issue I called the Columbia location to schedule a warranty visit for them to remove the wiring that made me loose the critical vehicle functionality to just install the metra kit normally. I was then met with this will cost you because it's not under warranty. I repeated to the gentleman on the phone that it doesn't function correctly. He stated that I didn't say I wanted to keep the vehicle functionality screen. With out this screen the vehicle will continually alarm because there is no way to reset the oil life indicator. This conversation went in circles and the Gentleman suggested I contact the general manager Sean at the Towson location. I contacted Sean, explained the situation, and he repeated that it's not under warranty. I repeated to him that I was never told there would be any potential loss of functionality for doing what I requested. Just as the gentleman before him he deflected and did not address what I stated to him. I stated I would prefer posting a positive review of his company but the reality of what is taking place I can not do that and be honest at the same time. He said you threatening me with a bad review is not going to make me change my mind. Plain and simple my experience with this company is they would rather charge a customer for work that should be covered under warranty than to stand behind their work and make a customer feel valued. read more

For years, as soon as winter rolls around, I complain about not having remote start. This year, I asked for this for my birthday. DH called, made appointment and on a Saturday. Saturday arrives, we drop off at 9 A, the gentleman went through the process & says he'll call when ready. 2 hours later, we show up and the car was ready. Came here to get a bluetooth head unit and a backup camera installed in my SUV. The prices for the equipment was definitely fair-on par with what you'd find if you ordered it yourself online-and while the cost of labor was a little higher then what was quoted elsewhere, they did a fantastic job (and while the other local places had lower labor quotes, they had MUCH higher cost of equipment quotes by abut $200 or so). This is a honest review after having expensive aftermarket external daylight running lights and fog lights installed with them recently. -I have to subtract 1/2 star if I could due to my initial interaction with the front desk guy (Shawn/Sean) who came across as a bit rude, not very welcoming, and sometimes condescending to some of my questions/genuine concerns that my car installation was going to be done properly with care. -However, I am very pleased and satisfied with their quality work. I had them put a remote starter and lock/unlock in my vehicle. It took a little longer to install than they had said, but I was able to walk next door to the Columbia Ale House for a very nice lunch while I waited. Otherwise, they did a great job at a great price. The manager patiently went through everything with me on how it worked, and while I waited I observed him deal pleasantly and efficiently with a wide range of customers, including one who seemed to be mentally ill and particularly obtuse. He was knowledgeable enough to instantly troubleshoot a small problem I was having with it months later over the phone. I liked them so much I took my daughter's car here for the same thing. My wife and I stopped in at Audio Connection on Saturday morning to ask some questions. They were great. They answered my questions, didn't try to sell me anything I didn't want and were genuinely nice to deal with. They also did the entire installation that same day. Dropped the car off and the front desk guy (Greg?) who was also the manager was super friendly and helpful. He explained the whole process and when we went to pick the car up he showed us how everything worked and gave us tips. I was very pleasantly surprised to experience what I consider old fashioned customer service, which seems so rare these days. My remote start fob was not working after I changed the batteries. They tested it, concluded it was not working properly, and immediately replaced the fob without any questions asked or any fuss. In and out within 10 minutes. Please read through the entire review to understand why they are rated so poorly. I purchased a groupon for a remote start for my wife's car. They did what I assume to be an acceptable job with the installation of the remote start. However, whenever we used the rear defroster the engine would stall. This occurred even in the middle of driving which is needless to say incredibly dangerous. We took the car to our mechanic and he couldn't figure out what the issue was so we asked if it was possible that the after-market remote start could be the problem (he was unaware we had one installed). After removing the remote-start the issue went away (what a coincidence!). I called Audio Connection to explain that I would like this made right as their install introduced an extremely dangerous issue while driving. The man's response on the phone was: "you should have brought it to us" (driven 30 minutes in a car with an engine can turn off WHILE driving thanks to their install). I explained how dangerous that was and his response was to put me on hold for 15 minutes then pick up and say "well I've said all I can on this" and hung up. Completely unprofessional and I will be sure to let everyone and anyone who will listen how poor the customer service was at this shop. Wanted to replace existing aftermarket headunit with a new one. Was told it would be full price for installation even though the wiring harness had already been done. Was told "Welcome to Howard county" as an explanation. I then went to best buy and they installed the new headunit in under 40 minutes, no appointment required, and for only 70$. Additional information: install was on a 95 wrangler. Zero dash removal required for installation. I was open to negotiating a price, however it did not seem that they were willing to give me anything except a snide response to my shock at the cost of installation for very limited work. read more

Overall good experience. Had a complete system installed in my 2011 Camaro - difficult car to replace head unit and requires a special dash kit that must integrate with many car functions; i.e. A/C, Fan, Temp, Heated Seats, Door locks, steering wheel controls, USB port in arm rest, etc. In keeping this review as honest and objective as possible, I will mention that when I got the car home, I figured out that many of the dash kit buttons were not working properly, affecting A/C, heated seats, defroster, etc. I spoke with the owner Dave who went out of his way to ensure my car would have priority the next day, despite a full workload they already had scheduled. Dave even shifted personnel from another location to ensure they had enough staff to free up the tech who worked on my car. After a few hours they had all functions working - there was a programming issue that had to be addressed. Again, complex stuff because the stock Camaro system is a pain to replace and the required dash kit must integrate significantly with major functions of the car. Very good talented Installers. I would definitely recommend them for aftermarket HIDs and LED lights. Price-wise they are less than the dealer and a bit more then others, but better than them. I initially got my HIDs installed at the dealer, every few months my bulb would fuse and would have to replace and ballets a few times as well, same with another person that i used from craigslist. I then went to Audio Connection and the installer know what wiring problem and properly install the bulbs, and for 3 years i did not have a problem with my HID (no bulb fuse or ballet change) i only changed my bulb when it was getting dimmer. They do the job right. read more
