Fattoush salad wilted and all bread
Vicky T.

Throughout the years we've frequented this place for hookah + their food has been fairly decent. I just saw another yelped had a bad experience and can confirm they're going downhill with cleanliness and food quality + portion. I ordered a chicken fattoush salad- the hot chicken was placed on top of lettuce in the container which wilted and the phot I've uploaded is the amount of salad it came with. Ridiculous literally a few bites which doesn't make sense at all. The dressing and marinade of everything was also overly garlicky and inedible and the bread was not pita and was definitely not zaatar spiced as the menu states. There was way too much bread to salad ratio.

Chicken kabob plate with fries. And Philly style sandwich with fries. Small Hummus in the middle!

The hummus was absolutely amazing it's been nearly a week and I'm still thinking about it. We had a chicken kabob plate and the Philly style sandwich. Everything was so amazing! Vibes were super chill we spent a few hours there talking and smoking and eating. 100% will be back!

MOLD IN KETCHUP!!

This was our go-to place with our friends, unfortunately however tonight's visit closed that chapter. When I was served my plate of fries, I grabbed the ketchup bottle that was on our table. Nothing came out when I was squeezing so I opened the tube, completely unprepared for what I was about to see. MOLD!! Right where the exit hole for the ketchup is. How disgusting. Who knows how many people squirted mold-contaminated ketchup unknowingly. Not only that, when we got the check, my boyfriend put his card on the tab. Forgetting we temporarily froze the card, it declined. Our server seemed to have a nasty attitude and said "are you sure" with a strong tone of voice when I handed my card. How disgusting and unprofessional of a sentence to say. To top it off, when we got the checkbook back, he said "thank you" in a very sarcastic voice. This establishment needs to clean up their ketchup bottles and their attitude.

I tried the tongue sandwich and it was awesome. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hooka price us reasonable.

Food: we got the bath and the spicy chicken wrap. We were both satisfied with the food it was surprisingly good for a hookah lounge! Service: Very friendly. You know how there are some restaurants when the waitstaff just is constantly coming to check if you're okay? It was not like that at all but our server was easy to flag down and always super nice. Ambiance: Very chill laid back hookah spot. Everything was clean and nice. Hookah: Was unfortunately not the best. It wasn't bad hookah, we weren't choking on it, but it did barely start and when it finally did it fizzled out quick. My hookah addict self wanted to give 3 stars but the food, waitstaff, ambiance was great and honestly the hookah wasn't terrible it just wasn't good hookah.

good service...good hookah...good food..very nice workers ..and amazing people.goooooooood

Best hookah in town. Amazing service. They have any flavor you can imagine. They use the best hookah, Regals. Dope spot for hookah and they have amazing food as well. I prefer John Chicken Burger, they also have bbq and they just added pizza to the menu.

In the area and wanted to smoke hookah (most places open at 5-6pm). Ordered the Hurricane Cool flavor shisha and falafel and pelmeni (Russian dumplings). Atmosphere was excellent. Customer service excellent. Food and hookah EXCELLENT. Prices were also excellent. I would definitely return when in the area.

I reaaallllllyyyyy wanted to have a good experience here…read more I came here for brunch last year and didn't write a review bc my experience was not too great and I decided to give it a try during the evening when they have events. Well, I brought 2 friends. It was their first time there. Karaoke and a DJ. I called ahead to ask if they had a DJ this night and if we had to make a reservation. The person who answered the phone said "no reservations . Just come." So, we did. After we found parking, the wait was not too long and the security guard had an entertaining personality. (So, that's why I added a star.) Now look...the food and customer service were awful. Just so awful that I am literally taking time to detail every single thing. I ordered a Philly with only meat, cheese, and bread. I just said "I'd like it super plain. Just plain." I specifically asked what comes on it and said "I'd like none of that. Just the meat, cheese and bread. None of the peppers, onions, and mushrooms." The waiter laughed and so did my party. So, it was actually discussed, but in a humorous way. All good, I don't mind them laughing at my order. Also, I asked for truffle fries. The waiter said "there is a $3 up charge." I said "cool." I also asked for Long Island with pineapple juice instead of Coca Cola. My friend ordered catfish. (It arrived waaaayyyyy after everyone else's food) The third person in our party ordered wings. She also ordered truffle fries while we waited on our food. (Those came after all the food. Smh) Oh and our drinks came way after the food as well. The Long Island arrived. It was dark. So, I immediately asked "this has pineapple juice instead of Coca Cola right?" He said "yes." When he walked away. My first sip was almost completely coca cola. My first bite of the Philly was a mound of mushrooms and onions. There is a photo below after he took the Philly bc I said I'll keep the fries. You can see a piece of pepper leftover. My fries never came truffled either. The entire order was messed incorrect. There is more, but I'll just stop here. Horrible experience. The karaoke was entertaining. We all sang, but we were hungry. My friends didn't eat their food batter the waiter left it at the bar for 10 minutes while people breathed all over it. That right there was crazy. So...yea it wasn't a good experience at all. The waiter was a sweet guy, but I was hungry and didn't end up eating anything, but French fries.

The outside is super dark and from the car I was questioning if I should even try it. But once I opened the door total surprise. It was completely safe inside and had a laid-back, cozy vibe that caught me off guard in the best way. When we got there, there were only a couple of other tables but it started to fill up slowly after. Still, the place never felt too packed or overwhelming. Just chill vibes and low-key energy perfect for relaxing. They do have board games, which I thought was cool but they're kept locked up so you have to go ask the staff to access them. A tiny inconvenience but not a dealbreaker. Honestly, it would've been nice if they were just out and ready to grab but I get it. Now let's talk about the hookah I now consider myself a hookah amateur, I was surprised by the amount of options they had. There were so many flavors I'd never heard of, plus different types of setups. One of them was themed after cartoon characters like Labubu or ziMomo (I forget the exact name but it was so fun and random in the best way). I had no idea hookah came in such creative setups! Service was fine no complaints. They were helpful when we asked about the hookah types and got us set up quickly. All in all this is definitely one of those hidden gems you'd probably never walk into unless you knew it was there. But I'm so glad I did. It's not flashy or fancy, but it's the kind of spot that makes you want to stay for hours and unwind. I'll definitely be back.

I hunted a bit before tracking down a spot and paying the meter. I have not been to Dune before, but the value of the lunch special along with the promise of a fried chicken shawarma, coupled with unexpected free time, sounded like a promising moment to stop by. Walked up to the window and after no acknowledgement, I peaked inside the door and asked whether I place an order at the counter or wait to be seated. When I tell you the jarring elder Gen Z stare and incredibly unfriendly direction to sit on the bench and wait my turn (in the literal sense that I was told to sit on the bench and wait my turn. There was only a party of 2 seated at the bench and no line to speak of) made me regret coming out to eat entirely. I'm not lying when I say I thought about leaving immediately and driving home in my air conditioned car instead of sitting on a hot bench in nearly 100 degree weather with no acknowledgement of party size, no offer for a drink or water while I wait, and just existing in my bizarre humiliation ritual for having asked what the procedure is here for any kind of recognition of my interest in dining or simply existing. And yes, after sitting down I saw there is a small low contrast sign on a post stating to sit on the bench and wait, but it is positioned parallel to the counter window and only when turning away from the glass toward the seating area was it placed in a way that I would see it. Not very useful for someone who is walking up or down the sidewalk as it's not visible. I held my breath for about 10 minutes before being asked my party size (one) and seated at a shaded table. I regretted my choice to dine out the entire wait time for the table, while ordering and then being required to pay upfront before my meal was even presented to me, while seated awaiting my order, while my food (loaded fries, fried chicken shawarma, date shake and an added unsweetened iced green mint tea) was dumped at once on the table in front of me, while eating feeling humiliated for existing inside human skin, and again when having to walk to the window and ask for a to-go box. I felt like a massive inconvenience for the staff and fully regretted bothering them every step of the way for normal things like a Dine LA menu which was not initially offered, adding an iced tea to my order, existing in a metal folding chair and generally taking up space. I don't like being treated like a turd by people, and certainly don't want to be treated this way when I'm paying for a service. But after the initial flubbed interactions, demanding payment with tip upfront before receiving any kind of service was rendered, and then dumping my food at the table without ceremony, it's truly no wonder why the LA restaurant scene is dying. Between poorly trained staff, rising costs in rent and utilities, the outrageous cost of staffing and the fact that eating at a restaurant is completely unnecessary when cutting household expenses, restaurants are disappearing left and right. Some of the foods I still dream about are lost forever to closure after closure. Customers being treated like they're inconsequential isn't the only reason people like me usually choose to dine at home, and it's not the only reason restaurants are disappearing. But it's one of the only controllable elements in a world of runaway hospitality expenses. Customers deserve even a modicum of respect if restaurants are going to survive. $48 for the meal including tax and tip. More than enough food for lunch, I took home half. Loaded steak fries / wish they were served with a whipped feta or dipping sauce instead of ketchup but they're good. Generous portion of steak. 9/10 Fried chicken shawarma / fun idea, execution made it difficult to pick up to eat. Serving in a metal basket made it impossible to cut in half since there was not a solid surface to cut against. Flavor is yummy, wish those middle eastern flavors were more prominent in the batter but the chicken is extra crispy. Enjoyable. 8/10 Date shake / luxurious, creamy, flavorful. No notes. 10/10 Unsweetened green mint iced tea / overpriced, underdelivered. I'd skip it unless you're parched. 5/10 **written without the assistance of AI**
