My boyfriend and I had gone to dinner with our friends and after, they recommended going to Sahara Cafe to get some hookah. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Saad. We ordered tangiers and the bowl lasted us about an hour and a half (which was great!). We decided to come back to this place a couple days later and they had hired a new a employee. He seemed nice at first, but as we became regulars, he stopped prioritizing us. To top it off, Jimmy started having some creepy friend of his come every night. They evidently have a staring problem which makes me feel extremely uncomfortable, along with other customers. Since we had gotten closer, the owner would ask us for suggestions/recommendations a lot. We told them many times about their charcoals being terrible. They turn black and went out within 15-20 minutes. Their tangiers flavors tasted nothing like what they should -- come to find out they've had the same flavors in the back for 8+ months. The suggestions went in one ear and out the other. Like I mentioned, we were regulars and grew a relationship with Jimmy and others. They started having weekly "parties," and couldn't figure out how to move the couches to accommodate everyone. My boyfriend and I would stay late and help them with setting things up. The last party they had (this last Friday) is what made us stop coming here. We brought our own hookah, flavors, and charcoal (per the owner's request since they ran out of hookahs the couple parties before). We packed our own bowls the entire night because they were too busy to do it. They also allowed people to bring their own alcohol and offered other customers beer/wine throughout the night. People got so sh*tfaced that fights broke out. At the end of the night, they had the audacity to charge us $84 (including a 20% service charge) but gave us a "discount," and charged us $64. I'm not sure what the heck they charged us for since we used our own hookah, flavor and charcoals AND provided service to ourselves. All we ordered the whole night was 2 bottles of water and 2 soda cans. Don't think that can be anything near $64 worth of items. Lol. I actually texted him (attached) to express how ridiculous the situation was. The response was beyond mediocre. We aren't the type to complain and let a lot of things go, for lack of a better term. We overlooked a lot because we went there every night. They started charging $40 for hookah, $20 for chicken and fries, $5 for a $0.99 can of Arizona, $3 for a bottle of water, etc. Ever since these bullsh*t parties started, things have gone to shit!! All these people are interested in is your MONEY. The hookah sucks, service sucks, prices are insane, and the place is disgustingly dirty. Save your time and money and go somewhere else. read more

This place has changed. Owner has made bad decisions. Hired wrong people- hookah is $40 with a refill. That's the price of 2 hookahs. Doesn't matter the flavor. They started to have parties with Dj and singer- it's extremely loud. Some items like Costco water is being charged $4 or $1 arizonas are $5. Plus I hear now they have 20 percent service charge for nothing. This place was great when it was calm and fairly priced $20 hookahs $8 refills. The seating situation is horrible because they concentrate on a open space for a belly dancer that doesn't want to be there to begin with. I am very disappointed on how abusive they are to their best clients. If they ever go back to what it was I will be willing to come back and change this review. Water shouldn't be more than $1 a bottle when it's Costco water. A can of coke shouldn't be more either. Why would I pay double for bad hookah bad service bad pricing? Lastly--- place is very dirty. Nobody cleans between couch cushions anymore and bathrooms are disgusting. Nobody pays any attention except to your pocket. Change it! Go back to the reason why anyone came. Goodbye read more

Sahara cafe is the most welcoming cafe to hangout at. It brings coziness and fun to your night. From the music taste to the taste of the Mediterranean menu and much more. I've been there multiple times and everytime it has exceeded my expectations. Never a dull time at Sahara cafe. My friends and I went there the first time and now its our go to spot. The owners welcomed us like its our home. They made us feel safe and comfortable. Their hospitality was close to none. My group and I definitely recommend this amazing cafe. On the weekends they have middle eastern bands playing and make you feel like you traveled across country while being at the cafe. From the entertainment to the service, everything is A1. You can go see it for yourself and see the fun this place brings. Safe to say i will definitely be a regular at Sahara cafe and enjoy the amazing food and great hospitality. I'm a regular here and I'm appalled that this place has become a pleasure center for old men. I've been a DAILY costumer here for about 4 years, Sahara was my go to hookah spot cause it was so conveniently close to home Let me give you some history, this place was puff cafe before Jimmy (the owner) bought it and turned it into the Sahara cafe I know and love so much...at first, the owners son in law (Chris) was working here, then the pandemic hit and they closed for most of 2020 but when they reopened there was a new man working there, his name was Joe, he was really cool and sweet and he was so good with people! When Joe was running the place everything was great! But Joe was too good for Sahara, his potential was past what Sahara could offer him. At joes exit came a new man named Peter, Peter was really cool at first but then became to be a little creepy. Let me give you an example--I was in my car one night with my friend and my fiancé, we were gonna go inside but we were having a conversation in the car cause there was a party happening that night and it was really loud inside...out of nowhere we hear a knock on the window AND ITS PETER! He was practically begging us to go inside and participate in his s**t show of a "party"...IT IS NOT THE EMPLOYEES PLACE TO COME KNOCK ON A COSTUMERS WINDOW AND PRESSURE THEM TO GO INSIDE!!! Mind you he wouldn't leave us alone he was awkwardly just standing there staring...after this encounter we decided we are never coming back here....they serve you frozen chicken and fries from vons for $20 they charge you $40 for a hookah and the bathroom trash is a week old...oh and Arizona tea costs $4 and generic Kirkland water is $3.75 (I'm not joking) I'd also like to point out that All my friends and my fiancés friends also hang out at Sahara....im not sure why but Peter Found it's appropriate to go up to our friends while we weren't around and talk badly about us....that's messed up, how dare you speak ill of us to our own friends! I've been coming here as a regular for so long but in the last few months ever since this Peter guy came in it has went to complete shit. Prices have flown up and the service get worse the more often you show up. You'd think that for being a part of their number 1 clientele we'd get treated better not worse. This new party thing they got going on is absolutely horrible and they're now overcharging for everything and complaining that we don't tip them enough. I tip for good service. Awesome lounge, highly recommend! Out of all the lounges I've been too 30+ including my own, this lounge hands down has the best seating! It is so comfortable that I could sit all day smoking and not want to leave. Clean hookahs and a wide variety of flavors/brands to choose from make this lounge a winner. This was the best packed bowl of Tangiers I've had in a long time. It never got harsh and was hitting smoothly the whole time. The owner was constantly checking on us to make sure we were good. Sahara is incredible! Has great service! Really nice and accommodating staff! The owner is very friendly and really involved with his customers! I love coming here when I've had a hard day cuz it's always chill and relaxing to enjoy hookah. Their Tabacco is like no other. I've been to about 6 other places and I've never wanted to go back but here I always want to keep coming back here. Their hookah is so good and I can smoke for a couple of hours before the hookah starts to taste burnt when the other places within an hour or even less I want to stop smoking cuz the flavor starts to taste funny. Their bathrooms are always clean. They allow you to bring ur own food when most place don't or make you buy their food only. I'm never disappointed when I come here and this is my main spot.
