Upon arrival we were shown to a table and brought a bottle of tap water and menus. From there, service was friendly and prompt, but not rushed. My husband had cod fish and chips and I had crispy cod tacos. The filling on my tacos was delicious. The shells had that tough texture that signaled they needed to be warmed up more. The crisp on the fish and chips was good, but the fish may have needed just a tad longer. We had ice cream for dessert. We also had wine with dinner and after-dinner drinks. The prices were reasonable for what we got. Overall, the taco shells were the only big miss. We would definitely return to Marlborough Tavern.

I like this transaction. The rooftop bar though? IT NEEDS SOME LOVE. There's seagull poop everywhere, the tables themselves are always dirty with trash, there's a layer of grime on absolutely everything, I'm not sure where all the greenery/plants have gone to (probably booted to make more space for chairs)... it's just super rundown, which is such a shock when you see how nice the restaurant itself is. There's a real "Instagram Vs Reality" thing happening here when you see photos on their website than experience it yourself. Other things to note: 1. I wish there was more filling to the sandwich, it was very bready. The fries (chips) were crispy and soft. My group enjoyed their meals as well and they looked good. Bath has lots of eateries and shops. If you're going to the Roman Baths or are in the main area, Crystal Palace is a nice spot to stop in for a bite or drink.
