HONEY ROASTED FREE RANGE DUCK BREAST

Stop reading and make a reservation. Now. Just do it. Ok. You can keep reading. We had an absolutely fantastic time. We ordered their take on fish and chips and the honeyed duck. We also ordered a side of fries and carrots. Everything was delicious. It was the best duck I've ever tasted, just tender and delicious. The fish was cooked to perfection and our young kiddo kept asking for more. The staff was super friendly. The music was a combo of pop and calm Afro beats, which just added to our great mood. The cocktails were great too. My next trip to Bath, I am going to Clayton's.

Food was excellent- highly recommend the dauphinoise potatoes and lemon meringue pie. Jana was the sweetest, most attentive and accommodating waitress. Her smile was beyond genuine! Ambiance of this restaurant was also adorable, outdoor seating also available. Would return here.

I enjoyed a pretty perfect Sunday evening dinner for one. Could feel a nice breeze from my table. Intimate setting. Soft lighting & quiet. Attentive & friendly service. Prosecco. Goat cheese, oysters, lobster special. Strawberry cream dessert, americano. Flavors, textures, temperature spot on. Though I was solo, I didn't feel alone. I didn't want to leave. Thank you! Best hospitality in Bath.

Wow! We had a fabulous dinner at Clayton's Kitchen during our trip to Bath. The food here is amazing! We ordered the special starter of crispy goat cheese, tomatoes and walnuts and the pork shoulder bon bons - both starters were so delicious and flavorful. Our entrees were the roast venison loin and roasted and sautéed vegetables - both were fantastic. A special place - we'd love to come back!

Food: 5 stars Service: 4 stars Ambiance: 4 stars Value: 4 stars OVERALL: 4 stars Went on a recommendation from our concierge, we got lucky that the England world cup game was on and we were able to get reservations on short notice. Clayton's is a bit of a higher end gastro-pub with outside seating overlooking George St. We started with a Pimm's cup and the whipped ewe's curd - excellent! For mains, my wife claimed her honey roasted duck breast was "the best duck I've ever had". I enjoyed my pan roasted local lamb although the olives were strong and distracted a bit from the lamb flavor, I still cleaned the plate! After dinner, we wandered to a nearby pub to catch the second half of the match ;-) It was great eating outside on such a pleasant evening and we'll definitely be back.

Delicious meal. See review for details.

Excellent fine dining cuisine and atmosphere. We ordered the sea bass, the vegetarian mille-feuille, goat cheese salad, and fish & chips, which were all excellent. Desserts were delicious with unique variations on classics like lemon meringue pie, and then had unique desserts such as chocolate mousse with salted caramel drizzle with sour cherry sorbet, and sticky toffee pudding with honey comb ice cream. The jazz pianist and guitarist added to the experience, making our last night in Bath just perfect. Would highly recommend.

Loved the farm to table feel of this spot. Succulents and air plants on the wall added to the already great ambiance. Amazing cocktails and the food was amazing. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a dinner spot in Bath!

We walked in to a confusion, heat and noise. Walked out immediately. First impressions usually hold true.

Service was a confusing at first, but was just swell once we were seated...the leftside is a side is a traditional sit down restaurant service, the right side is a classic pub style where you order everything at the bar, and the expansive outside patio is self service as well, a completely taken over by smokers and vapers like every other European patio. £20 FISH & CHIPS! The fresh beer battered haddock was thick and crispy on the outside, and moist and tender on the inside, perfection!, The chips were pleasant enough, though crushed minted peas were just okay...maybe because they day prior I had some incredible mushy mint peas at another pub. Still a great plate overall! £20 SHORTCRUST PIES...wife went with the Chicken, Leek, and Herb...wonderfully rich and savory, with flavorful scent and warm, buttery pie crust. Lovely! Also came with seared greens, braised red cabbage, buttery mash potatoes, and rich decadent red wine gravy. £7.5 STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING...gooey, sweet, sticky, buttery, and fantastically wonderful!

The pub is unassuming on the outside but nice inside. There are two sections those for indoor dining and those wanting to sit outdoors or hang by the bar, we chose the latter. Outside is wonderful with a nice patio, plants, and plenty of shade. With the warm weather, this was a popular spot for folks. Service was friendly but limited. You order and pay for your food and drinks at the bar, they bring it out to you and that's it. I had a Lemon Chicken Pesto Sandwich. It was fine but nothing spectacular. I wish there was more filling to the sandwich, it was very bready. The fries (chips) were crispy and soft. My group enjoyed their meals as well and they looked good. Bath has lots of eateries and shops. If you're going to the Roman Baths or are in the main area, Crystal Palace is a nice spot to stop in for a bite or drink. They're located off Abbey Green near the courtyard.
