A traditional pub in the heart of Bath with good food and drinks. Stopped in here for dinner one night and was able to get a table by the fireplace. Pubs are great. Walk up to the bar, order and pay for your drinks and food. No waiting for the check. The bartender was so friendly and helpful. He gave us a few samples before we chose our drinks. Everyone in the pub is friendly too. There was a cricket game on and people were explaining the game. We had so much fun!!!

Crystal Palace is a warm, inviting pub with a focus on food. The menu here was classically British--the Steak & Ale Pie was made of steak chunks cooked in Fuller's London Pride (a house ale) along with shallots and button mushrooms, baked in a pie, and served with sides of mash, boiled cabbage/peas, and red wine gravy. The steak filling had a nice deep, savory, acidic flavor from the sauce, but most of the other components of the dish were underseasoned. Next, the Ploughmans was a mixed plate made of a thick slice of honey roast ham and a thick slice of cheddar cheese, accompanied by bread, butter, greens, pickled onions, chutneys, apple slices, and celery sticks--a simple but hearty cold meal. Overall, the food here was rather basic and not especially outstanding in quality and flavor, but everything made for an affordable meal in a friendly setting.

Came here for a day visit from London (visiting from Austin!) wanted to see some "Bridgerton" filming sites...and stumbled across this gem of a pub...It was UNseasonably hot in the UK this summer (I left the heat of tX to come into more heat!) and after peeping the infamous "Modiste boutique" (which is really a deli lol) this cute little place called to me... I had the very fresh traditional fish n chips w/ smashed green beans and a couple of delicious cold pints to wash it all down. The staff were very nice, the atmosphere was very cool and british....and I recommend this spot to anyone walking around in Bath.

The absolute, hands down, best fish and chips I've ever had. And the lamb kofta was incredible. Lovely patio and friendly staff. Would highly recommend.

Tucked away behind the hustle and bustle of the high street, Crystal Palace is a warm, cosy and relaxing place to have a drink away from the crowds. Whenever I've been in it's been relatively quiet, which is a blessing for a weary shopper, but means that it lacks a lively, buzzing atmosphere. There's only a limited range of drinks of offer here, so if you're looking for something a little bit fancier, you're best popping along to All Bar One around the corner. But if what you're looking for is friendly service, a pint and some mouth watering chips (oh, such good chips) then you'll be sure to find it at Crystal Palace.

This is a charming bistro with a nice big garden, however, be prepared for sticker shock in the town that caters to a huge tourist trade. Their pea/watercress soup was good, but the cheese platter had very small portions of local cheese, 1/4 apple (old) and not properly sliced, 2 inch stalk of celery, cut into iffy biddy lengths to make it look more plentiful. The decor was nice, but the food was not up to snuff.

Crystal Palace, as others have said before me, is a warm and inviting pub just one block away from Bath Abbey. Unfortunately, the experience began to deteriorate after first impressions. We ordered a plate of fish and chips, a plate of bangers and mash, and Kronenbeg beers all around. The bangers and mash were delicious, and the beers were just fine, but my fish fillet was riddled with tiny bones, making it almost impossible to eat. The mushy peas, however, were delicious. When approached with the fish bone issue, or waitron could care less and dismissed our claims. It's unfortunate, since not everyone at the table was a tourist. One person at the table was a local who works three blocks away and I don't think he'll be returning again.

Lovely pub in the middle of medieval Bath village. Nice selections. We shared the calamari and charcuterie platter. Enough for us for lunch although I would have loved the potato leek soup which they were out of.

Sunday beef roast with potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, cauliflower, carrots & swede (rutabagas).

Nice place. We had Sunday roast with "proper gravy". Not nearly as good as my grandmother used to make, but a nice reminder. Nice location in the middle of everything. We sat inside and ate at the bar area. Yelp says they are closed Sundays, but that is incorrect!

Lots of pub ambiance with really good food. I had baked chicken with baby peas and mushroom with truffle mashed potatoes- perfect for a rainy night. Service was good- they answered all our questions wile not being annoying..great meal!

    Covered seating in the back.

Gorgeous old pub with friendly staff and great ambiance. Just here for a pint of Fullers ESB so can't comment on food but great venue.

They have several local ales on tap and some "Real Ale" cask conditioned for a traditional experience. Sadly, there was no roast beef when we arrived so we'll have to wait for the classic Sunday roast. Steak and ale pie, and a butternut squash pie were good substitutes. This is a popular spot, especially for outdoor seating. We sat inside in a cozy dining room but if the weather is dry outdoors is a nice option. Just on the outskirts of…read morecentral Bath, this delightful classic British pub has lovely interior with whimsical decor yet classy at the same time. Service was a confusing at first, but was just swell once we were seated...the leftside is a side is a traditional sit down restaurant service, the right side is a classic pub style where you order everything at the bar, and the expansive outside patio is self service as well, a completely taken over by smokers and vapers like every other European patio. £20 FISH & CHIPS! The fresh beer battered haddock was thick and crispy on the outside, and moist and tender on the inside, perfection!, The chips were pleasant enough, though crushed minted peas were just okay...maybe because they day prior I had some incredible mushy mint peas at another pub. Still a great plate overall! £20 SHORTCRUST PIES...wife went with the Chicken, Leek, and Herb...wonderfully rich and savory, with flavorful scent and warm, buttery pie crust. Lovely! Also came with seared greens, braised red cabbage, buttery mash potatoes, and rich decadent red wine gravy. £7.5 STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING...gooey, sweet, sticky, buttery, and fantastically wonderful!
