Great cocktails. The interior is really nice and the staircase leading up to the dining floor and then the roof terrace dominates. It's like being in someone's (really large) living room. Shame that we could not eat at the lovely copper bar (had to be seated at a table) especially because the small plates looked pretty good on the menu. Rooftop terrace was nice and obviously popular with smokers. Dining area is a balcony overlooking the ground floor but closed when we visited. There was also a serious-looking espresso machine on the ground floor that looked like it would churn out a mean cappuccino.

Great food! This restaurant has a nice selection of food to choose from: meats, seafood, and vegetarian options. There's a nice selection of starters. I had the prawns with garlic butter. They were very good and a healthy portion size. For my entree I wanted to have the veal but they were out of that, as well as two other items, though the lobster frittes does mention on the menu that it is limited and may be out. I settled for the honey glazed duck and honestly feel like I may have lucked out. It was very tender and flavorful. The side of potatoes were cooked perfectly as well. Lastly, for dessert I had the lemon tart. It had a great taste and wasn't too sour. Perfect dishes all around and I would definitely come back again.

The food was good, but they were out of our first three selections, including the Sunday special "roast of the day." We settled on Fish and Chips, Summer Chicken Pie and a Cheese Sandwich. The food was delicious but the service at the bar left a lot to be desired. We had to order our food at the bar because no one came by to take our order. When the food was delivered to the table the waitress was friendly. I would have given them a 2 for the service, but because the food was delicious, I give them a 4.

One of the worst restaurants in bath, way understaffed and food gets ordered wrong! Don't go!

A nice place to go for a drink! Really well decorated and great big windows which let in lots of light.

Whether you're the world's biggest gin fan or you're still unsure about the stuff, the Canary Gin…read moreBar is an absolute must when in Bath for libations. The ground floor offers 200+ gins and the Cocktails of Gin Austen menu (oh, yes, you read that right - it's "gin's transatlantic journey to New York"; it's "gin of a different persuasion"; and they're all just £9). Gin is not my preferred liquor, but these extremely well crafted, balanced, flavorful drinks have me wondering if my previous feelings about gin were totally misinformed. The Big Apple (featuring Bath Gin [what they make here], hopped rhubarb Bath Gin, apple schnapps, escubac, lime juice, and tonic) is really refreshing, but it's the Little Italy that I felt the most feelings for: Bath Gin, coffee-infused campari, cocchi torino, and apricot liqueur. The presentation is straight out of a magazine, the ingredients are all delicious, and it packs a serious wallop. "In vain have I struggled. It will not do. My feelings will not be repressed. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you." Is that too much for a drink or a bar? Ahhhh, you'll see what I mean when you check it out. Upstairs, The Distiller's Bar, has more gins and cocktails but I never made it up there. I liked to tuck into the downstairs right when they opened with a good book and a good cocktail and people watch. The owner was frequently (always?) there bringing the merriment, too, so the atmosphere always felt quite cheery and welcoming!

Small bar (the downstairs especially), but worth a visit. I had no idea there was a local gin in…read moreBath until my friend took me here, and I"m glad he did. The Bath gin was delicious and wonderfully smooth. I had a G&T, which they made with an artisinal tonic and tossed a bay leaf in the glass... if you're a gin fan, this is the place for you. By the way, Bath gin price isn't listed - it costs £7/single. If the downstairs is crowded, try the upstairs - it covers the whole length of the downstairs and was pretty empty when I was there, while the downstairs was packed. They do have a few bottled beers (and Peroni on tap) and whiskeys and vodkas if you're not a gin fan... but why wouldn't you be?

I had the Amsterdam which was a vegan burger made with a hemp patty and vegan cheese which was delicious. My friend had the Rome burger which was a beef patty topped with sun-dried tomato, pancetta and white sauce and also amazing. We arrived early for dinner, around 6, and a reservation didn't seem necessary. Service was very friendly and professional and although new they seemed to have it down. I had a steak for my entree and my dining companion had fish. We were both quite pleased with our choices. The only glitch, probably my fault, was ordering a gin martini before dinner. That seemed to throw them for a loop! Apparently that isn't common, like a gin and tonic. But they pulled it together and after some discussion asked if I wanted it "dry" "dirty" "olives" etc.? In the end I should have ordered a gin and tonic as the martini was not that good. I do recommend this place, however, as the food and atmosphere is quite good. I hope they succeed.
