The lead tech, Gabe Jabbo, and his two helpers were all exceptionally polite and responsive to my needs, including a last-minute relocation of one of the outdoor units and the need to run an unplanned electrical connection. When the real issue was the capacitor! Which is only maybe 50 bucks at any hardware store. He tried to keep me away from the only true issue. See pics for proof But I will say this the owner contacted me and apologized for this awful experience. I really appreciate and respect that. He offered to reimburse me for this experience and I respect that. He looked into the issue and he took accountability and that's not common. So I really appreciate how this situation was handled. I will still warn everyone to always get a second opinion and be careful out there. I will be giving them another chance as long as this situation never happens again.

Three companies were asked to give me bids for replacement of my 25+ yr old system. One did not…read moreinspect the furnace's heat exchanger, saying he didn't want to move such a good looking furnace! His bid stated that it did not include the cost of permits to replace the ac. Another bidder did not bring any diagnostic equipment, but was very ready to come back to repair or replace the ac and would at that time inspect the furnace. His bid for replacing the ac did not even mention the need for permits. And then, there's Straight Shooter. They were already my service company and at check up time, Rich was concerned about the refrigerant level. He asked to come back on a warmer day to be sure the cold had not given a false reading. Rich also suggested it was time to find out if the aging system needed replacement due to some others signs. I asked him to arrange that, so Scott came the same day Rich returned. At that time, a crack was found in the furnace heat exchanger. Also, it was determined the ac refrigerant loss was so significant, repair would be too costly, especially for the ac's age. Scott kindly spent enough time with me explaining options that I had clarity about them. Just a few days later Eric, Dillon and Forest installed a heat pump that does both jobs! I am well pleased. The Straight Shooter Company IS a straight shooter!

Even though our AC unit is relatively new, I believe preventive maintenance is important, and we wanted to make sure everything was operating properly before the hot and humid weather arrived. Their technician was knowledgeable, courteous, professional and very friendly, and we were so pleased with the service that we contacted Comfort Bros again the following month to service our water heater. One seemingly small detail that really impressed me: the technicians put shoe coverings on before walking through our home without my even having to ask. We have black granite floors that show practically every speck of dust and dirt, along with light-colored carpeting, so I really appreciated that level of conscientiousness and respect for our home. Bonus points from me for hygiene and cleanliness! During the second visit, they also performed a whole-house inspection and were proactive about letting us know about things we might want to keep an eye on or consider servicing in the future. I appreciated that approach because I'd much rather know about a potential issue early and possibly prevent a larger, more expensive problem down the road. Both of our experiences with Comfort Bros have been excellent. They've been responsive, highly professional, respectful of our property, and thorough in getting the job done, all at what I felt was a reasonable price. I would not hesitate to call them again or recommend them to others looking for HVAC, plumbing or related home services. Rock ON Comfort Bros!

Despite an occasional referral, for the most part we have hand picked the folks who come to help us with the appliances and equipment around our home that I either don't understand, don't care to figure out or just plain don't have the time to learn how to repair them. However, a couple of years back we did a remodel and put our trust in the contractor to pick the best people for the job. There were two trades people whom he had not worked with before but had been recommended to him by his fellow contractors when they had sucked up the people he wanted for their current project. One was a plumber and the other was a HVAC guy. The plumber was a nice guy who seemed competent and reasonable. He was both of those things but he would never show up when he said he would nor would he finish on time. On more than one occasion when he wanted to go to get parts, knowing that he might not return that day, I just got him the parts from my garage. He usually wasn't happy about that. I suspect getting parts for me was not the only reason for a potential departure. The HVAC guy was a very different story. Adam was very engaged and enthusiastic and made big promises (Danger, Danger, Danger, Will Robinson!). It soon became clear that even though he had experience in the field this was one of first major jobs as being his own boss. We became a little concerned. At one point, much to his credit, he clearly had a gap in his knowledge of a particular difficulty with a specialized plenum. Rather than bluster his way through and hope we didn't realize he was in over his head, he was frank and said he hadn't had experience with this situation before and asked if it would be OK to call a friend. He assured us we would not be charged extra. He called his friend and the issue was resolved quickly. The big promises he made? He kept every one despite the fact I suspect he did not make as much, off of the job that he would have liked to. We were VERY impressed and have recommended him to those who have asked. A year after the job we had a problem with air leakage and called him up. As these normally go I expected a decent response time an a moderate bill because "it was not his fault", whether it was or not. That was not what happened. He showed up very quickly and decided that something had slipped and he was totally responsible for the problem. It was repaired immediately by one of his recent hires (must be doing something right) and for no charge. I really liked this guy for his candor, rapid response and easy going attitude. Two years after the job we had another problem where the smart thermostat blanked out. I checked circuit breakers, the voltages and some other minor things and though let's give Adam a call as it probably needs servicing anyway. José showed up the next day (another new face and wearing a mask), took very little time to determine what was wrong, fixed the problem and did a normal periodic maintenance. The problem had occurred because I had not done my part in doing the owner's periodic maintenance. I don't want to tell you how little it cost because I don't want Adam to be taken advantage of but the bill was unreasonably inexpensive. Overall, at every stage, Adam kept his word, put our needs first, showed up when he said he would and did a really good job of running his business. Clearly he has learned a lot more about running a business that just the subtleties of air conditioning technology. I recommend he and his company without any reservation what so ever. We were referred to Adam, the owner of the AC guy air-conditioning company, through a relative when our furnaces stopped functioning. We had two other companies come to look at our furnace give us quotes and then Adam came. He was able to do the work immediately, he had excellent suggestions on what needed to happen, what furnace would serve us well and gave us a competitive quote. We chose him to do our work and he and his team arrived the next day. Our furnace was from 1984, when our home was built. They took everything out and put everything new in including making it ready for air conditioning if we chose to go that way sometime in the future. Adam supervised his team. He came back several times to make sure That the heat was balanced between the upstairs and the downstairs since before it always was hot upstairs and cold downstairs. He set it up so that it balanced very nicely. Adam went beyond the norm in making sure we were satisfied and everything worked perfectly and we were both satisfied! We give Adam the highest recommendation! read more

Adrian was very knowledge about the systems that were compatible with my unit, as well as how we could configure the unit to be tucked into the attic and hung onto our back wall (couldn't do the floor since it's an open alley and homeless people are an issue). There was a few delays with getting the product, which was communicated well by Adrian and his team, as well as a phone call was received by the owner. Then, they didn't show up for the service prompting me to call. The public phone numbers I found were disconnected and I had to call multiple numbers to find someone. Finally, they came out and serviced our properties. Next, we had a huge AC issue at one of the locations. When we finally got a hold of someone, they sent someone out diagnosed it, but it took almost a month to get parts and do the repair. Instead of reaching out to us with updates, we had to follow up with them almost weekly. The final straw was another issue that came up and they just ghosted us after multiple text messages. I am not sure the final maintenance was done because no one will call back. good luck with these guys. When they show up, the service seems fine, but getting a hold of them or getting updates was a nightmare
