    Sausage & sauerkraut

I haven't been here in awhile but uncle was visiting and we wanted to try something a little different than Vietnamese food. Lol We were greeted immediately and brought in. We requested a table in the back corner and our hostess had no issues with that. We had the absolute sweetest waitress and sad I forgot to ask for her name. I was undecided between the fries or caesar salad for side and she recommended the caesar salad so I went with that and was super happy with it. Definitely was one of the best caesar salads I've ever had. The Cali melt blew me away. Uncle got the Choripan Hot Dog and hubby got the Sausage and Sauerkraut. I also got coffee to drink. Everything tasted amazing, our waitress was attentive, accomodating and so sweet. The restaurant itself is quite spacious and I love that the tables aren't cramped together. I would definitely come back.

    3 BRASSEURS BURGER with salad

We got seated quickly and was near a group of avid (and loud) sports fans...typical of this kind of bar. It was still easy to have a conversation in our booth though as the place was not that packed. There were TVs each showing different sports above the bar. Spicy chicken sandwich was fried to a crisp. The spice was light; you could feel a mild ting after a few bites. Sauerkrut pickles were standard toppings. Pretty good chicken sandwich however is pretty comparable to fast food chains such as Popeyes or Chick-Fil-A which is roughly half the price. The 3 brewers burger was quite big so we opted for salad as a side. The house salad was really good with a tasty dressing. The burger itself came with a good sized patty and the usual lettuce, tomatoes, onions and gouda cheese. Good option for burger lovers and quite filling. Would have liked my bread a bit more toasted. Strawberry basil iced tea was part of the non-alcoholic menu but we asked for ours with rum. It was refreshing and quite enjoyable - definitely recommend! The beer is what stands out the most here. As some of you may not know, 3 Brewers is also a micro brewery that creates its own craft beers to serve. The craft beer here is alot cheaper than other locations (I believe I paid roughly $15 for a litre). There are always 4 beers as options, plus a few on rotation. In this visit I got the Amber, but I usually get the Dark (their stout) and the rotation beer. The craft beer here is good; I mean really good. The beers have good hops, nice flavours and are smooth overall. An item not on the pictures but you need to try when visiting is the pretzels. The pretzels are fantastic; it's oversized, moist, and comes with 2 amazing dips. It's my go to item as a bar appetizer when coming here for drinks. If you are looking for a place to grab drinks, either to watch the game or socialize, 3 Brewers is a decent choice. It was a great pre-pandemic option for after work drinks. The food itself is pricy but still good. However grabbing 2 pitchers and a few pretzels you definitely get more than your money's worth!

I've been here a couple of times before, and never been disappointed. I organized a group of about 20 women to gather here for a social networking event. Tonight was all about the BURGER.....YES!!!! The 3 Brewers burger has this maple sauce on it....just delicious. :) I've always liked the service, as well. Food was served hot, drinks were topped up, servers were friendly.

Met friends for dinner and drinks on the patio. Nice big covered patio. Quite busy for a Wednesday eveniHome brew for sale-their white beer by the litre was awesome. Food was great too. Good portion sizes. Service started out slow but she got better as the night went on. Didn't love, love, love the place but would recommend for something a little different.

I have been to multiple locations of le Trois Brasseurs/3 brewers in both Montreal and Ottawa. Tonight, I found myself at a Xmas Party at the new Kanata location. The menu for this evenings event was limited; offering only a pizza, a burger or a salad. I chose the salad and my partner in crime had the burger. What wasn't limited in this evenings festivities was the sangria. If you enjoy sangria, the 3B's makes a sangria worth talking about (at least the ones that I've had made for me). I have tried both the red and the white, but prefer the red sangria hands down. Now back to the food... I wish I knew what the salad was called, it had mixed greens, chicken, black beans, very few veggies, fried tortilla chips and a lemony dressing which came on the side. As a person who loves salad, I was disappointed with the lack of "stuff" in this salad, it was primarily lettuce, chicken, and tortilla chips which doesn't equate to a salad in my books. The burger looked good, but I was told it was nothing special by all the gentlemen at my table. I had a few French fries which were delicious! If I ever went through a break-up, I'm pretty certain their fries would sustain my life until my tears dried up, they were that good. On my other visits to 3B's I got the sausage and sauerkraut plate. It's by far my favourite thing and when I do find one of these restaurants I often can't be persuaded to get anything else.

The atmosphere: Beautiful wood accented walls, booths, tables, bar etc with traditional glass pub style panels. Theres a fireplace in one area of the restaurant which would be nice to be seated beside in the winter. This looks like a nice English pub! The booths even have a door you can use for privacy! A very nice touch! The food: Me and the wife had the BBQ bacon burger, it had 3 types of bacon! Just enough bbq sauce to taste, but not too much to make a mess. The ground beef is ground fresh from chuck roast every morning, and you can taste the difference. Be careful however, some of the sides are an extra dollar or two, I didnt enjoy the mashed potatoes very much, but thats ok, I can't expect everything to be perfect. My daughter had a chicken and rice kids meal, which was essentially a Greek souvlaki chicken breast. I had to try it, it was juicy, perfectly cooked and seasoned. As much as it may be a simple dish to cook, I can't cook it like that. My son had the chicken fingers, they disappeared quick, and looked great. Service: The server was friendly, inviting, attentive, and easy to talk to which I really appreciated. she was very nice to my kids, and my kids were excited to show off their crayon pictures they drew for her. . i cant ask for much else here, except maybe to warn about the extra dollar or two for some addons, maybe toast the bun, and mash the potatoes a little bit more (some people would prefer it the way they make it Im sure) Bravo Barley Mow, Im hard to impress, and honest I think; you guys did great!

I wasn't crazy about my meal, but the men thought theirs were ok. 2.5 stars overall, but I'll be nice and round up to 3. We all ordered from their limited-time Lobsterfest menu. I got the Lobster Rolls ($18) and my husband and father-in-law both got the One Pound Lobster Dinner (market price, which was $29 that day). I got a choice of fries, pub chips or soup with my lobster rolls and I chose fries. I was pretty disappointed with my lobster rolls. They were filled with mostly imitation crab/Surimi, barely any lobster. There were zero lobster chunks, just tiny lobster specks. The filling was also a bit too salty for my tastes. The filling tasted like imitation crab, mayo, green onions and salt. The rolls had lettuce and tomatoes, and there was a pickle spear on the side. The rolls were in a buttered hot dog bun. I think a more accurate name for the rolls would have been "imitation crab rolls." The accompanying fries were ok. They were at least crispy and hot, and thankfully not too mealy. Incidentally, my husband had had the Lobster Rolls at a different Royal Oak (downtown Ottawa) a little over a week earlier, and he said his rolls had lobster chunks in them and he enjoyed his rolls, so I really think not all Royal Oaks are equal. The Lobster Dinners that my husband and father-in-law had came with two sides. My husband got the soup and pub chips and my father-in-law got the soup and fries. The soup of the day was a "sweet and spicy beef soup." I had a taste of the soup and it was quite good. It had an Asian twist to it with the seasonings that were in it and the beef was so tender. I had some of the pub chips and they were good as well. I liked that some were super crispy, but some were a little softer with a little bit of chewiness. The men said the lobsters were good, but obviously not as good as lobster when you're in the Maritimes (which is where my father-in-law is from). Service was friendly. We did wait a bit longer than I expected to to get our food, but not an unreasonable amount of time. It's in a strip mall, so lots of free parking.

It made me wonder if they were doing what we were doing: grabbing a bite before the show. Our waiter admitted that he was in training as he was new; this is his first week and only his 3rd day. He and another waiter served us for this visit. Oddly, the veteran waiter welcomed us back - and thought we were here recently! Perusing the menu, they offer good specials during the week. We didn't get there until about 12:30am and it was pretty full. We didn't leave until maybe 2:30am and it was still pretty full considering the time. They're not normally open this late, but it seems like a lot of the businesses on Preston decided to stay open later to catch the post-Bluesfest crowd. Good call! We decided to sit inside since there was an empty table, otherwise I would've liked to sit out on their back patio, which looked really pretty with the lights. Inside was a nice vibe though, too. It's small/narrow, dimly lit, with sheets covering the different coloured ceiling lights, and candles on the table. It's very intimate and pretty romantic. We sat close to the bar and there was another party of two beside us. The music was a bit louder so we couldn't really hear the other table's conversations, but not so loud that we couldn't hear each other. They were playing the Bee Gees when we walked (danced) in, so we were really about the jams. My husband got a rotating draught IPA by Daft Brewing, can't remember which one it was. I got the Jill Collins, which had Tanqueray Gin, Affino Limone, fresh lemon and mint, cane syrup, and a Moon soda top. It was super refreshing, bright, and not too sweet, which is exactly what I wanted. We shared/I mostly ate the "OG Grilled Cheese" and "Panzanella-esque Salad". The grilled cheese had aged Balderson and cream cheeses in a crunchy baguette smothered in toasted garlic butter, served with Moon ketchup. It was exactly as described, with very crunchy, buttery garlic bread and creamy cheese. The Moon ketchup is made in-house, thinner and chunkier than processed, store-bought ketchup, with stronger flavours. It was okay, but I didn't need to dip much in the ketchup because I really enjoyed the sandwich and it was on the saltier side itself. Because it was a lot creamier than gooey, I'd say it was more of a sandwich than a grilled cheese, but still very tasty. I really am not a huge fan of salad in general, but I can't complain when it was burrata on top. It also had salty bread, arugula, roasted tomatoes, fresh peaches, herbs, and honey. The peaches were more firm than ripe and juicy, which was good for a salad, though I wish they were a bit sweeter. The burrata wasn't creamy inside like I expected, but I love cheese in any form. I really don't know what possessed me to get salad, especially after a bunch of drinks in the wee hours of the night, but my body thanked me later. Salty, bitter, a little sweet, fresh, and not heavy, even with (more) bread and cheese. It was great. They unfortunately ran out of the affogato, which probably would've convinced my husband to stay longer. Too bad. The vegan dark chocolate gelato from Farinella that they put in it sounded amazing. The beer was $10.50, my cocktail was $19, grilled cheese $16, and salad $17, which was pricey. BUT, the fresh herbs are from their garden on the back patio, they make their own soda and ketchup (among other things), everything was delicious, and even late at night the cocktails and dishes were still well put together and tasted great, plus I finally came here after so long. No regrets! Our server was super nice, same with owner and one of the bartenders, who even popped over and sat with us for a bit to chat. And not in a weird/creepy/in-your-face way lol she was cool. She was the one who greeted us when we came in and said bye to us on our way out. There's no flash photography (I forgot to turn my auto flash off for my salad, sorry!). They're open all week from 5pm to 2am, no reservations, no large groups, and no phone (just stop by). I wasn't sure if it would meet the high expectations and hype I had built up in my head after waiting so long to visit, but it totally did. It's such a nice spot, we had an amazing time, and we will definitely be back!
