Awesome food and service. Maybe due to the fact it wasn't busy for a Thursday and the staff seemed to be omnipresent! Good deals on Wednesday: burgers $12 and craft Mill Street $6 Thursday: wings half price $8 Wings with the house BBQ Pit sauce are highly recommended. My friend had the suicide and it was better than just cheap hot sauce. The fries were good and fresh too. They have one of my favourite craft beers (Cobblestone stout) on tap too. UPDATE: returned on a Wednesday for burger night. My friend and I both had the Canadian. Big, hot and juicy with just the right amount of toppings. Not too messy and not too lean. I can't believe I'm writing this but we both agreed this was the best burger we ever had! It was a little more busy than last week but not crowded and service still great

This place was highly recommended by our friends who live here. We had a similar experience with a hot stone grill when we were on vacation recently so we wanted to experience it again! The place itself is Gorgeous beautiful rustic homey/ranch feel. It is very beautiful. There is lots of free parking in the back. Service: excellent. We made reservations and we were greeted very nicely at the resto. We had to go through all the covid measures first but it wasn't that long and were seated quickly. Our tables were high chairs it wasn't the most comfortable but that's ok. The food itself was good! I chose strip loin as my cut it came out raw as you yourself have to cook it on the stone ! The issue was the meat wasn't seasoned at all it was bland :/ I wish we had it seasoned or brought out seasonings on the side: The spinach dip was good too but it wasn't Thick enough The tortillas were stale .. My Caesar salad was Exceptional! Loved it! Super fresh and lots of real bacon and Parmesan.. very yummy 5/5 My mushrooms and onions were sautéed with butter delicious and spot on 5/5 My seasonal veggies were steamed but bland and undercooked. The food was ok but lacked seasoning. However, service was fantastic and the ambiance was equally amazing and definitely gravitated towards the 4 star versus 3 as We really had perfect service and experience! Cheers

Was in Ottawa and decided to check out this place in Kanata. The restaurant is located in the city of Kanata inside an area with lots of shops and restaurants. Parking is abundant but I can't recall if there was any public transit nearby. The staff are super friendly and go out of the way to welcome you and explain anything on the menu. I decided to try there specialty which was the steak on the hot stone. Grill. I stated off with a Caesar salad. This was one of the best salads I have had in a long time. Super fresh with over the top amounts of bacon and the dressing was so good and loads of Parmesan cheese. This is a must to try. Next was the signature steak on the hot stone I chose the strip sirloin with side of veggies and mushrooms and onions. The steak was for sure over 20 ounces. So you take the steak and cut it up in pieces and put it on the stone to cook. I am assuming the stone was seasoned which gave the steak a great flavor. So if you overcook you steak you have no one to blame but yourself. Lololol. The steak was a nice cut with some good marbling in eat. It was nice to do but took some time to cook the whole steak. It's a must try as it was the talking point at the table . The vegetables were fresh and not frozen and were grilled to perfection and seasoned lightly with salt and paper. The mushroom and onion mixture was not to my taste as I found them over cooked maybe even a bit burnt taste. Not much seasoning on them. Overall the place is super fun and would bring a great night with friends and or family for the night . Enjoy

A lot of hype, but just okay. Drinks: - Goose Honkers Ale (CN$7.08). A decent ale that is on draught - Classic Martini (CN$ 8.85). A shallow pour that filled only 1/2 the Martini glass. Entree: Top Sirloin-10 oz (CN$ 33.00). The steak can be grilled by their Chef over a flame, or you can choose to cook it yourself on a heated stone. I chose to have the Chef prepare it, and all steaks include a choice of sauces. Although the steak was prepared as I ordered (Medium Rare), it didn't have a good outer crust to lock-in the juices. So, that's the reason the give you a choice of sauces--because you will need something to make up for the dry texture and lack of seasoning. Truly, I expected a lot better for a $33 steak. Sorry, but I can't recommend it. Service: I sat at the bar, and the service was attentive. She wasn't overly friendly, and I was 1 of 2 people sitting at the bar. Ambiance: A country western theme with a lot of Texas-based decor. I'm a Texan, and I haven't seen that much Texas decor in a Texas Bar. Haha! Overall: I wanted to like the place, but the high prices, shallow mixed drinks, dry steak, and dull service is too much to overcome. Given the choice, I would walk next door to Montana's.

The stone grilled steak was amazing! Great experience with great service even after a 2 month hiatus because of the most recent COVID-19 lockdown. I will be returning for another meal sometime soon and can't wait for the mechanical bull to return on Wednesdays.

It's a steakhouse with a twist! They serve your steak --uncooked!-- on this SUPERHOT lava rock. (It also comes with your choice of sauce and two sides). You slice up your steak and it cooks right on the "stone grill" on your plate. So your steak ends up cooked exactly how you want it!! Of course, you can also order your steak to be grilled up by the chefs, as well as a variety of other menu options, like steak salads and ribs (my coworker could not stop raving about the mac&cheese). They also have live music on some nights, and a mechanical bull provides entertainment as well. The ambiance is above average, the service is spot-on, and food is all very good! What's not to like?!?

    The weeknight special...

An Epic Father's Day Meal - Rose Bowl Steakhouse Sets the Bar High…read more Wow... just wow. After a full day of surprises and celebration, our dinner at Rose Bowl Steakhouse in Ottawa was the perfect grand finale. From the moment we walked in, we knew we were in for something special--and the experience exceeded every expectation. Let's talk service first. The waiting staff were absolutely incredible--attentive, professional, and perfectly timed. You know that sweet spot where they're there when you need them, but never intrusive? They nailed it. Our server was on point, making us feel welcomed and looked after the entire evening. The bartender deserves a shoutout of their own--he crafted what I can only describe as the greatest Old Fashioned of all time. Seriously, I've had many, and this one takes the crown. Even the busser went out of their way to make us feel at home, offering kind words and a smile that instantly elevated the vibe. It felt like every member of the team genuinely cared about the guest experience. And then came the food... We started with the calamari and escargots, and they were nothing short of outstanding. The calamari was perfectly crispy with just the right amount of seasoning, and the escargots were rich, buttery, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. They set the tone for what was to come. For the mains: I had the sirloin steak, cooked to absolute perfection--juicy, tender, and bursting with flavour. My wife ordered the grilled salmon, which was beautifully presented and tasted as fresh as it gets. Our oldest went for the lobster ravioli, and let's just say they're still talking about it. Rich, creamy, and loaded with lobster--an unforgettable dish. Portions were generous (to say the least), and we definitely didn't leave hungry. We were tempted by dessert but had plans to grab gelato elsewhere, so we'll save that for the next visit--which is already a guarantee. Rose Bowl Steakhouse gave us more than just a meal--it gave us a moment. It was the perfect way to wrap up Father's Day: with full hearts, fuller stomachs, and a shared memory we'll be talking about for a long time. If you're in Ottawa and want a place that delivers exceptional food, world-class cocktails, and top-tier hospitality, do yourself a favour and book a table here. You won't regret it.

The atmosphere was cozy and a little lively, but still comfortable enough to sit back, talk, and enjoy everything without feeling rushed. We ordered a mix of steak, seafood, and a few sides for the table, and everything came out fresh, filling, and full of flavor. The steak was cooked nicely, the seafood tasted fresh, and the portions were generous enough to share. It felt like the kind of meal that makes everyone at the table happy. What made the experience even better was the friendly service. Everyone was welcoming, and the whole evening felt easy and relaxed. Definitely a solid spot for a family dinner when you want something hearty, comforting, and satisfying.

We shared a cheesecake at the end topped with cherries that was good too. Would recommend. If closer to home, I'd be here more often. I enjoyed this dinner a lot. As for the environment, it was very spacious and comfortable seating but was pretty dark inside (which makes sense for a fancy/"high-end" restaurant)- if anyone has vision problems, you might need assistance. Also weirdly enough, although I consider the Keg to be a higher-end restaurant, they have quite a few "booths" which we didn't expect to see- it's giving diner and Swiss Chalet (which there's nothing wrong with). I had my 6oz cooked medium and it was the perfect colour, tenderness, and juiciness! But all in all, the steak was nothing overly special and I've probably had better- the price wasn't bad for it though like $36

The Long Version: My husband and I stopped by Al's Steakhouse for Happy Hour. Their Happy Hour is Monday to Friday 3pm-6pm and only available on their front patio or lounge, not their main dining room. We sat in the lounge. I got the feature cocktail ($8) which happened to be a Peach Bellini that day. My husband got the Al's Lager ($6.50). We shared the Calamari ($10) and Sliders ($13). My Peach Bellini was delicious and was served with a slice of dehydrated orange and a paper straw. The hubster thought the lager was ok. The sliders were excellent. There were 3 sliders and they were a good size. The bun was a plain brioche bun and was lightly toasted. The beef patty was flavourful. It came with cheese, pickles and burger sauce. I would get these again. The Calamari were good, although not particularly unique in taste. They were battered and tender, not chewy. They came with seafood sauce. Service was courteous, although the server came back twice to verify our order, lol. Our order was correct in the end, so no big deal. The restaurant ambiance is poshy but not pretentious. Their regular-priced menu is on the expensive side, but their Happy Hour deals are awesome. I will definitely be returning for more Happy Hour adventures here. Street parking only. Dinner: mushroom ravioli...not good at all, I wanted to send it back too, but since I had already sent back my appetizer, I was too embarrassed! But it truly was awful. Very little ravioli and you actually could not find the pasta squares under the slippery shitake mushrooms, the tremendous amount of oil and butter, the cream sauce was so overly done and sickenly rich. Why add so much to a what should be a simple pasta? I had a couple of bites and then boxed and brought home.....picture of all the toppings, too much, and look at that oil and butter! Still couldn't eat it. I should have known better; I went to a steakhouse and ordered pasta. You should always go with the specialty.... lesson learned.
