    Non-alcoholic beer

This English-style pub has all the charm of a good neighborhood bar without making you feel like an outsider. When we walked in, the live music was great and the volume still allowed for easy conversation. The owner gave us a great intro to the food and beer menu, and one of the regulars chimed in with his own favorites and recommendations. The hot beef and Yorkie was amazing, and if I am ever in the Ottawa area again I will be back for more! I also really appreciate the wide variety of non-alcoholic beers available, a stout, blonde ale, lager, berry sour, and more.

It's busy... It's popular. Staff are amazing. The food is incredible. Close to golf course... So... It's... Consistent. Patio is good. At times there is live music and all of it is just great. Good vibes. Carp has the damn mosquitos so wear repellant on your ankles if on the patio. Sone areas have space heaters. Make resos. !! Parking lot is tighter than a waterfrog's ass so u may have to be ok with street parking. A 5.

Location is convenient, decor and ambiance are warm and charming, staff are skilled and friendly, and the food is incredible. Sometimes feels a little overbooked, but that never affected the service. 100% recommend!

I got myself the corn and bacon chowder soupto go this time $8. Perfect time to eat soup with the weather changing. I find the soup Really tasty has a little spicy flavour. Few piece of potatoes, lots of corn and little bacon piece. It gives you two good bowls of soup to share or not... I wont judge. Never considered myself a soup girl. Might just have to start haha.

When I was in Ottawa a few months ago, I was on the lookout for a hidden gem outside of the city. Did my local friends ever find one at Cheshire Cat Pub. Been around the Carp community for several years, Cheshire Cat Pubs brings local and British Pub fare with innovation and great flavours! The Beef and Yorkshire Pudding was arguably the best dish I ever paid for about $25 and each bite was worth every dollar given its portion size and rustic charm in every bite. However, the Sticky Toffee Pudding is the best $10 you will ever spend. Served with local Carps Creamery Ice Cream, the Sticky Toffee Pudding is nicely balanced and not too sweet which is perfect to end off any meal! I can't wait for my next visit back to Ottawa to visit this local gem!

Great greeting from the host. Very busy mid-afternoon on a Saturday. We were seated quickly, offered indoor or outdoor, though people after us had short waits. Our server seemed a little confused but was ultimately sweet. We ordered everything at once. The pizza and wings came from the pizza oven kitchen, great smoked wings but limited to bbq (unless ordering off the main pub menu which had other flavors) and fantastic cheese pizza with thin flavorful crust. On the pub side, we got fish and chips with two huge pieces of fish and the roast beef with Yorkie pudding and mash and veg with huge servings and a home-cooked flavor. Wide choice of beers. Forgot to order dessert, that sticky toffee pudding looked good. The freezer had soups and savory pies that looked really good for taking home. Fun quirky decor featuring Cheshire Cat and British stuff.

This is an okay place, suitable for dating or family gatherings. While the interior is nicely designed with a fancy aesthetic and a good bar, it can get quite hot inside. I recommend using the patio for a more comfortable experience. I was drawn in by the numerous positive reviews on Yelp and decided to give it a try. I opted for the Hot Beef dish, which was presented fancily, but unfortunately, didn't quite live up to my expectations. The price point is a bit steep, and I wouldn't order it again. Overall, it's an okay spot, but not entirely worth the hype.

Server was amazing. Loved the beef and Yorkshire Pudding. The sticky toffee puffy has perfect. The glasses were so cute I had to buy a few.

Hot beef and Yorkie with mashed potatoes

Came to this English pub for the first time the other day! It was a gorgeous day out, so we decided to sit on the patio with a nice pitcher of sangria. I read that their hot beef and Yorkshire pudding (Hot Beef and Yorkie) were great, so I got it with mashed potatoes, as our server recommended. The sangria was a little watery and a bit too sweet but otherwise refreshing, but the beef and Yorkie were amazing! It had thinly sliced local rib eye, horseradish cream, gravy, and roasted vegetables. It was a good call choosing mashed potatoes over chips (fries). It was a gorgeous plate with a generous serving of hot beef and mashed potatoes. There was a nice assortment of veggies and they were roasted perfectly. I didn't taste the horseradish cream as much - it wasn't strong, but the gravy was flavourful and added just the right amount of salt to everything. I could've bought so many (more) things from the fridge and freezer in the shop, but I went with the frozen steak and mushroom pie (single serving), frozen bacon mac 'n' cheese, Carp Custom Creamery loaded butter tart ice cream, Kichesippi Beer Cheshire Cat Pilsner, Dominion City Elevenses Chocolate Chip Pancake Stout, and Cold Bear Bee Savvy Braggot. We loved this spot and will definitely be back!

The Cheshire Cat Pub gives you a true English Pub experience from the decor to the menu. Stephanie, our server, was outstanding. Her friendly demeanor and efficient service were first class. The food...the beer were 10 out of ten. This was my first time - and I will be back. Make your reservations early - the pub is busy AND worth the wait! Cheers!

I was SO stoked to finally visit the Moonroom after seven or so years of wanting to go!…read more After a Saturday night at Bluesfest, we waited somewhere else for about half an hour before they told us the kitchen was backed up, so we walked down Preston and I was so glad the Moonroom was still open. We didn't get there until about 12:30am and it was pretty full. We didn't leave until maybe 2:30am and it was still pretty full considering the time. They're not normally open this late, but it seems like a lot of the businesses on Preston decided to stay open later to catch the post-Bluesfest crowd. Good call! We decided to sit inside since there was an empty table, otherwise I would've liked to sit out on their back patio, which looked really pretty with the lights. Inside was a nice vibe though, too. It's small/narrow, dimly lit, with sheets covering the different coloured ceiling lights, and candles on the table. It's very intimate and pretty romantic. We sat close to the bar and there was another party of two beside us. The music was a bit louder so we couldn't really hear the other table's conversations, but not so loud that we couldn't hear each other. They were playing the Bee Gees when we walked (danced) in, so we were really about the jams. My husband got a rotating draught IPA by Daft Brewing, can't remember which one it was. I got the Jill Collins, which had Tanqueray Gin, Affino Limone, fresh lemon and mint, cane syrup, and a Moon soda top. It was super refreshing, bright, and not too sweet, which is exactly what I wanted. We shared/I mostly ate the "OG Grilled Cheese" and "Panzanella-esque Salad". The grilled cheese had aged Balderson and cream cheeses in a crunchy baguette smothered in toasted garlic butter, served with Moon ketchup. It was exactly as described, with very crunchy, buttery garlic bread and creamy cheese. The Moon ketchup is made in-house, thinner and chunkier than processed, store-bought ketchup, with stronger flavours. It was okay, but I didn't need to dip much in the ketchup because I really enjoyed the sandwich and it was on the saltier side itself. Because it was a lot creamier than gooey, I'd say it was more of a sandwich than a grilled cheese, but still very tasty. I really am not a huge fan of salad in general, but I can't complain when it was burrata on top. It also had salty bread, arugula, roasted tomatoes, fresh peaches, herbs, and honey. The peaches were more firm than ripe and juicy, which was good for a salad, though I wish they were a bit sweeter. The burrata wasn't creamy inside like I expected, but I love cheese in any form. I really don't know what possessed me to get salad, especially after a bunch of drinks in the wee hours of the night, but my body thanked me later. Salty, bitter, a little sweet, fresh, and not heavy, even with (more) bread and cheese. It was great. They unfortunately ran out of the affogato, which probably would've convinced my husband to stay longer. Too bad. The vegan dark chocolate gelato from Farinella that they put in it sounded amazing. The beer was $10.50, my cocktail was $19, grilled cheese $16, and salad $17, which was pricey. BUT, the fresh herbs are from their garden on the back patio, they make their own soda and ketchup (among other things), everything was delicious, and even late at night the cocktails and dishes were still well put together and tasted great, plus I finally came here after so long. No regrets! Our server was super nice, same with owner and one of the bartenders, who even popped over and sat with us for a bit to chat. And not in a weird/creepy/in-your-face way lol she was cool. She was the one who greeted us when we came in and said bye to us on our way out. There's no flash photography (I forgot to turn my auto flash off for my salad, sorry!). They're open all week from 5pm to 2am, no reservations, no large groups, and no phone (just stop by). I wasn't sure if it would meet the high expectations and hype I had built up in my head after waiting so long to visit, but it totally did. It's such a nice spot, we had an amazing time, and we will definitely be back!
