Great food and service. Patio is excellent. You have to order the dish and chips but one of us had the steak pie and it was excellent. Don't forget the mushy peas. Will definitely be back read more

Paid $12.40 for a BLT. Ended up made with a hamburger bun and ONE slice of tomato. Bacon was over cooked. Not worth $5.00 let alone $13.00

This is not an Irish pub; it is a Scottish pub (and a very good one). Had many good evenings there, but better on Robbie Burns Day than St. Patrick's Day. read more

Had a very nice time here. Late lunch, Tues. Not too busy. 1st time. It was on my to-do-visit list! Got a really nice glass of house red wine for $6.50. Loved it. We split the lemon pepper fish and sweet potato fries. Also, got a side of mashed with a tiny gravy that cost too much but presentation was great. Also, got a small order of onion rings that you would swear was a large. Best! They were so crispy/fresh. Get these! Dipping sauce has mayo so meh, but didn't need a dip at all! Mashed were a bit on the cool side. Gravy was bomb! Served hot. But a tiny amount for the $. Fish felt healthy... panko... Not beer battered. Would get that again but didn't really taste lemon nor pepper. Waitress was... ok. Think she wanted to be elsewhere but service while curt, was quick. Our food came out in no time. Washrooms, clean. Bar looked fun. A few 'usual suspect ' regulars!! Lol! Can't wait to come back, Maybe in the evening for some wings and live music. BUT of note, this place is known mainly for its fish and chips. read more

I've been to The Glen many times and it is consistently good. It's nothing fancy, just a casual Scottish Pub that serves reasonably priced fare. They have Haggis and Steak & Kidney Pie! Their specialty is Fish & Chips, but the truth is I only ever get their Fish Tacos ($16). I love that you have the option of pan-seared fish instead of fried, and also lettuce wrap instead of tortilla shell. You can also get 1/2 fries and 1/2 salad as your side for no extra cost. The salad is also a real mesclun mix with cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, and carrots. The dressing always comes on the side, which I appreciate. I have learned from previous visits to ask for the chipotle mayo on the side too because they usually put way too much on the tacos for my liking. Fries here are thick cut, but not mealy or starchy. I prefer shoestring fries, but these ones aren't too bad. Service is always great. Quick, efficient and attentive. They give first responders and military personnel 15% off their meal. I support businesses that support those who keep us safe. It gets a bit loud in there sometimes when it's busy, but that doesn't really bother me. It's in a strip mall with lots of free parking. read more

After 30 years this is still my favourite fish & chips pub anywhere on the continent. There is very little batter (unless you choose the new beer batter) and it is NEVER oily. Just HUGE pieces of FRESH Scottish haddock and perfect FRESH chips. Since the price increase I find ONE piece is enough, unless you want to share. Try the neeps or mushy peas for a side. Half chips & half salad is also nice. Service is always good (a little slower on Sundays) and they have daily beer specials. Bring the whole family, young and old. Can't go wrong! read more

UPDATE May 16, 2018. Hey! What gives?! They stopped selling Newcastle Brown a couple of weeks ago! My favourite beer... :-( ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We've been going to The Glen for a very long time - since it was at its old location. Every time I come in, I end up choosing the fish and chips - even when I think I am going to try something else. The Glen's fish and chips, with a pint of Newcastle Brown is such comfort food that I keep coming back just for that! However, in my defense, they cook their fish several different ways, so I get around the "cheating" on my diet by choosing lower calorie fish. The fries are great! They are now offering after-work appetizers from 3:00pm to 6:00pm, which I have been meaning to try. One of these days! There are other specials, Monday to Friday. Another thing I will have to try is their fish tacos. That's on my do do list. One side of this location is a standard restaurant, while the other side is like a typical British Pub (or as close as we Canucks can get!) The woman who owns / runs the place, and some of the staff, have lovely Scottish brogues! They're so friendly and inviting. I hope they will be open for a very long time yet to come. I will definitely go back. read more

We have always ordered the same pan seared haddock. Unfortunately lately getting disappointed. Had always been freshly cooked and prepared. Lately inconsistent, overcooked, variable portions etc. Will try again as we have been going there for a long time but do not want to start to doubt. read more

We used to eat at the old Location regularly Food was excellent and Staff were friendly and efficient. Always seemed to be crowded New location is great Food is excellent and staff are friendly, helpful and efficient Much bigger area very clean and well set up Lineups occur regularly but waiting time is mostly short. Lots of room to move and never feels overly crowded This location has been opened for over 4 years I will be back regularly read more

I have given them 3 shots at making fish and chips for me. Soggy battered fish and old cold fries. Go to almost any pub for better.

Positive experience! Note that they do not serve haggis after a certain time, i came at about 9:30pm and they could not make it (so I will have to come back again)! What I got: - Fish and chips: this was well done, and it was quite the large piece too, but could of been crispier. I got Cajun flavour which was good. Fries could be crispier too. - Wings: they had a 6 for $6 deal but it's not really a deal...I would go to wings night elsewhere. I got Cajun, but the meat inside was not that tasty. - Fried dill pickles: very crispy, and the dill sauce was super flavourful! I really enjoyed these. Cozy environment and friendly service! read more

Stopped in for some bevvies/apps/dessert - great service, good drinks, patio was great! Owner(?) manager(?) was super disruptive though, loudly reaming out staff members because another guest complained they'd waited too long to be served. Then he stormed around for the rest of our visit. Dude, I get that you're stressed but acting this way in front of guests is really off-putting. read more

The Glen - Chef's Choice - swordfish! - Scottish Near Me - Stittsville, Ontario

Hadn't been here in years but fancied some fish and chips. So disappointed. The fish was a decent portion but was dry and the batter was more of a brown skin; not crispy, in fact, no grease. I gained the impression that it was probably from lunchtime and reheated. I had the Thursday special deal - great price, so maybe that's why I got a sub standard meal. Definitely won't go again. Will stick to La Pointe - which has small portions but their fish is cooked really well. read more

The jabba the hut looking Scottish woman , who I later found out is the owner is rude, totally unprofessional and a real atmosphere killer to anyone trying to dine here. She's rude to staff, customers (including myself), and the food was crap. Server couldn't inform us that 3 of their most common on-tap beers were out? After EACH ORDER??? Like literally, can I get a guiness? Ya sure! Oh wait....sorry we are out right now unfortunately. Would you like a can? No.. x3 different beers. Come on, its a damn Scottish pub and you're more dry than the Sahara? The shepherds pie looked like a dogs breakfast and was expensive for what it was and tasted mediocre. The fish and chips were totally sub par. Put an ounce of effort into the food and keep jabba in her hut, not in the restaurant near paying customers. Dissapointed and would never return. Get a better meal from the mucho burrito next door...... read more

This is the best place for fish and chips. My hubby and I frequently go to The Glen for fish and chips and, of course, paired with the house stout. This is the second time i've been here. First why are you charging people for coleslaw that should be on the plate to begin with I get why people don't want it, who has coleslaw inundated with dill? Don't get it. I had 1 piece of fish ($20.00) with cajun spice dressing, mother of god, could it have been any drier? The coating was so thick and dry it was not worth the effort to eat it. My friend (from The Rock) said the regular batter was not bad. Note to the chef, don't have ridiculous batters when the original will do. It was a major fail. read more

Had a very intersting experience tonight. We arrived knowing that we would have a wait. We asked the manager if we could wait at the bar for our table , which he said we could do. We were tols it would be a 30 minute wait. Once at the bar and ordered drinks , after some time we cjhecked on our table , we were informed we were next in line , 1 hour and 30 minutes later, we realized that we had been forgotten, we decided to leave. When departing the restaurant, we informed the manager we were leaving, his interaction was less than cordial. I was very unimpressed with his handling of the situation. it will be a very long time before i grace this establishment again. read more
