Aperol spritz, espresso martini
Nina C.

Came here in between trips up the mountain, while on a Ski day at Vail, and although they had no seating, the place was packed and had a very classy and fancy atmosphere. Luckily, nobody was paying attention to us, soaking up the warmth and sitting on the benches where people generally wait to be seated for the restaurant. We went over to the bar and ordered some cocktails, I got an espresso martini, and my friend got the aperol spritz. Personally, I prefer my espresso martinis without Bailey's and not so creamy, but the flavor was good and the bartender was very sweet. She was nice enough not to force me to have my ID and was excepting of a photo since we had a locker at the bottom of the mountain and it was not easily accessible. The prices are exactly what you think, decently hi, almost $20 for a cocktail, but nothing you wouldn't expect from a place like this. I'm told that the bar seating is first come first serve so it gets pretty competitive. To be safe, if you want to eat, make a reservation as soon as you know you're coming to the mountain. Cheers!

Such a fun place to Apré or just ride up and have lunch. The bar area has a lively ambiance. The servers are really friendly and the food/drinks are great! Just remember, you have to have a ski pass or it's a $75 round trip gondola ride.

We visited in February 2020 and loved the ambiance and nice options on their menu. We are primarily vegetarian and had many options to choose from. I am delayed in contributing this review, though the 10th is on my mind as we are scheduled to return the first week of February 2022 with additional family members so are hoping for a similar experience to our first visit. In February 2020 we had an amazing bottle of Chassagne-Montrachet (chardonnay) that accompanied the onion soup that was made with a vegetable broth, our "wild thing" flatbread, and another entree that I cannot recall specifically (photo looks like a pea or asparagus risotto). We appreciated the warm setting and good service and truly hope the menu options will be as good during our upcoming visit. We wish the restaurant would keep its menu posted on either the Vail or Tock websites. We made our reservation for this upcoming visit through Tock and they require a deposit of $20 per person. We are glad we made the reservation in advance as when I visit the Tock site now, it shows no reservations as being available.

Colorado striped bass
Laura M.

We made a lunch reservation here while skiing at Vail this week. The tables are nicely spaced out, and our table had a wonderful view (photo attached). We ordered the pot pie and the Colorado striped bass. The pot pie was huge - and likely would have been better to share - that said, it was creamy, the potatoes peas and carrots were perfectly cooked and the gravy inside it was delicious (and bubbling when it came out!). I also loved the way they put together the top/puff pastry. The striped bass was also perfectly cooked, and very flavorful. The sauce it was in was really good, and I loved the olives in addition to the green beans, potatoes and tomatoes. Overall - it was a different, and really nice experience to have a really nice meal while skiing! Will for sure be back!

The food is great and the service too. We loved the lobster biscuit soup and the club sandwich.

Hot chocolate, draft beer & black moguls.

Incredible service and decor for on-mountain dining. The burger was the most expensive but best I have ever had. It's a treat while skiing.

Is there a way to dine here without having to ski and riding the lift?

We would like to see the 2022 menu as we have a reservation for the first week of February. We loved the selection back in Feb 2020, though it looks like the options are more limited now. Can someone please share a photo of the current menu please?

They had everything you would crave for breakfast and it was only 42 per person except the alcoholic drinks. Considering Vail as an expensive place this was our cheapest meal we had with very good quality and service. My fav was the german sausage which taste like the real ones in . Even the people you would see there not like anything in CA! Great atmosphere! Little cups of smoothies were yummy too. Until next time!

Food: - French onion soup: not overly salty, the short rib is nice, but it's pretty small - Tuna tartare: this had a good kick to it - Pork Belly Porchetta: good flavor, not too fatty, good sides - a solid dish - Purple cabbage: pretty rich and meaty, interesting and good on a cold day Portions were on the smaller side. My main issue is that service started out good, but then our server went MIA because like they assigned him tables in various parts of the restaurant, which makes no sense and sets him up for failure, so I think it's a management issue. I was not happy that I had to flag down multiple other people for a water refill, another wine order, and dessert. The food itself was good, but service was just really disappointing. Honestly, I feel bad for our server - he was well intentioned but was dealt a rough assignment. Note: there's also a 3% credit card surcharge, which I've NEVER seen at any other high end restaurant.

As anticipated, the place was gorgeous...with a slightly formal air. Given that it was in the Vail Village (near the ski slope), my husband was able to enter the place in his rugged ski suit. Despite the ambiance, it was a bit dead. I was disappointed with the lack of French music overhead...though maybe it was on so low, I didn't hear it? There were plenty of breakfast-brunch options, but on the menu, some items were noted as taking 20 minutes (which we didn't have time for!), so I was a tad bummed about that. In any case, my husband chose this Huckleberry Bacon French Toast, and I ordered the Maryland Crab Benedict. For drinks, we both just ordered plain coffee. As expected, the foods were good. I was more impressed with my husband's choice, this super-fancy french toast. Not only did it look amazing, it tasted spectacular! Mine was good, but disappointing at the same time. I really liked the Crab Benedict, but I only half-liked the side salad (basically just Arugula with a few Walnuts and Figs). The total bill for these items ran over 100 bucks... which, was to be expected in Vail. However, for such a pricey breakfast, I felt that I should have absolutely loved it...but it felt short of that. Overall, I just expected a bit more from this breakfast experience. Again, the decor was gorgeous, but the ambiance wasn't fully there (because of the lack of music?). Service felt a bit short-skimpy as well. Foods were good, but mine especially (Crab Benedict) felt a bit lacking. Let's just say that I've had Crab Benedicts as just as good for half the price...and with better sides. Maybe lunch or dinner experience is better here? In any case, am glad we checked out the place...but I doubt I'll choose it for breakfast again.

Because it's Vail during Spring ski season, we didn't have a lot of options left; restaurants get booked months in advance. We resolved to have a mediocre meal for exorbitant prices but with the lovely company of friends to make it worthwhile. We banked on at least decent service. Upon arriving, we were further disappointed when we saw a steel coat rack right at the entrance and a refrigerated case of desserts next to the hostess stand. This is acceptable for a diner, NOT for an elegant restaurant. The high rating despite my gripes above is because the meal was outstanding. Again, nothing innovative, but high quality ingredients, perfectly executed traditional French fare. What stood out: Lobster bisque had good quantity of tender fresh lobster meat in a bisque whose consistency was just right- not too creamy or thick and not too thinned out with cheap stock. Seasoned with restraint and rich in flavor without being overpowering. Everyone at the table kept this dish rotating until the dish was wiped clean with bread. Pork chop seasonal special was cooked to perfection. The French style of beef Wellington was also impressive. The pastry was a beautiful light compliment to the decadent buttery soft meat inside. The chocolate soufflé was not up to par unfortunately. Small, barely tasting of chocolate, ours came to the table puffed up, but did not have the satisfying crusty layer on top. It was more of an airy bread pudding type of dessert. A good meal overall but not to the quality their prices would imply. A 3.5 star rating would be more appropriate. I'd return if there were again no other reservations available

I know the difference between Wagyu and fine cuts of meat, beef, bison, etc. I ordered the simple filet. What they brought me was NOT a filet. It shredded apart, like a roast had been simmering in a crockpot all day. It didn't taste like a filet, and it didn't look like one. I'll upload a photo below. I've never complained about a cut of meat ever in my life, and I had to when we visited this restaurant. This was either lab grown meat, or it was a very cheap cut of meat that they are passing off as a high cut. I had one bite and gave it back. They were nice and comped me, but I didn't end up eating a meal that night. It was soft and mushy and shredded apart. Additionally, we ordered the 'Baked Alaska' for our dessert, and the ice cream was so frozen at the bottom that the lady that brought it to our table and was cutting it up for us couldn't even cut through to the bottom. I will never recommend this place. How do you screw up ice cream and a simple filet? I also think that they covered the filet with a gravy type liquid to compensate for a bad cut of meat. Additionally, usually after you are given your meals, you will be checked upon a few minutes later to see if you need anything and how the food is tasting. No one checked on us. I had to motion someone to come over to ask about my meat, and at that point, the two other people in our party were completely finished with their meals. The place wasn't busy either (only two other tables had guests), so that wouldn't be an excuse for not checking on us during our entire meal.
