Phenomenal views, this spot sits at the top of the mountain and offers incredible panoramic scenery that you can only view by taking the gondola up. It makes it an investment in time too not just money to get to this prime location. Nothing stood out it was all decent, has the standards like burgers, flatbreads, soup and bread. The downside was the service - it was slow to say the least. Had to follow up on multiple drink orders for our table. It's still worth a stop for the views but have tempered expectations on the food. read more

I didn't think it could get much better than a beautiful scenic brunch on top of a mountain with a view of snow and skiers. But then the food came out! First let me start with our server, I hate that I can't recall his name but he was so friendly and accommodating. I had the king crab salad for an appetizer, with avocado, citrus fruits, and greens...those flavors mixed all together were a treat! I had the brisket sandwich for my meal and that brisket was smoked to perfection and the fries were crisp and good! I was too stuffed to eat it all and was sad about it. My sis had the shrimp and grits and also loved it. The Bellinis were really good as well. I highly recommend this place! read more

Wow. I would give 0 stars if we could. Had lunch today at this high end, expensive, full service restaurant. The service was anything but good. We ordered drinks, kids food, and an appetizer. The drinks and a pretzel came but the other appetizer and kids' food never arrived. We asked for a status on the kids food and ordered our entree. A few minutes later, an order came to our table which wasn't ours (2/3 items were different) so we told them. A few minutes after that, a corrected food order came out, but was still missing the first appetizer and my daughter's food arrived cold. The appetizer finally arrived after we finished our meal and were no longer hungry. When our bill came, we were charged for drinks we didn't order and asked for the bill to be corrected. We waited a long time, the server didn't seem to know how to make the correction. About the time, the manager came by and asked about our experience. We provided her with feedback on the unfortunate service during our meal. They ended up comping us 2 drink. We paid well over $200 for a very disappointing experience. The food was ok. read more

Came here in between trips up the mountain, while on a Ski day at Vail, and although they had no seating, the place was packed and had a very classy and fancy atmosphere. Luckily, nobody was paying attention to us, soaking up the warmth and sitting on the benches where people generally wait to be seated for the restaurant. We went over to the bar and ordered some cocktails, I got an espresso martini, and my friend got the aperol spritz. Personally, I prefer my espresso martinis without Bailey's and not so creamy, but the flavor was good and the bartender was very sweet. She was nice enough not to force me to have my ID and was excepting of a photo since we had a locker at the bottom of the mountain and it was not easily accessible. The prices are exactly what you think, decently hi, almost $20 for a cocktail, but nothing you wouldn't expect from a place like this. I'm told that the bar seating is first come first serve so it gets pretty competitive. To be safe, if you want to eat, make a reservation as soon as you know you're coming to the mountain. This place used to be awesome years ago, but I guess they got a new chef who screwed up the menu, there's no burgers at all, the $35 chicken sandwich is a weird non breast meat, no beef carpaccio anymore, no truffle fries appetizer,. Not sure if the new chef thinks he's in a different type of environment, but it's sad what they did to the menu. Also, no more slippers which was one of the real positives of this place. Oh well, the barbecue place and other restaurants are better and half the price. read more

Such a fun place to Apré or just ride up and have lunch. The bar area has a lively ambiance. The servers are really friendly and the food/drinks are great! Just remember, you have to have a ski pass or it's a $75 round trip gondola ride. read more

We visited in February 2020 and loved the ambiance and nice options on their menu. We are primarily vegetarian and had many options to choose from. I am delayed in contributing this review, though the 10th is on my mind as we are scheduled to return the first week of February 2022 with additional family members so are hoping for a similar experience to our first visit. In February 2020 we had an amazing bottle of Chassagne-Montrachet (chardonnay) that accompanied the onion soup that was made with a vegetable broth, our "wild thing" flatbread, and another entree that I cannot recall specifically (photo looks like a pea or asparagus risotto). We appreciated the warm setting and good service and truly hope the menu options will be as good during our upcoming visit. We wish the restaurant would keep its menu posted on either the Vail or Tock websites. We made our reservation for this upcoming visit through Tock and they require a deposit of $20 per person. We are glad we made the reservation in advance as when I visit the Tock site now, it shows no reservations as being available. read more

We made a lunch reservation here while skiing at Vail this week. The tables are nicely spaced out, and our table had a wonderful view (photo attached). We ordered the pot pie and the Colorado striped bass. The pot pie was huge - and likely would have been better to share - that said, it was creamy, the potatoes peas and carrots were perfectly cooked and the gravy inside it was delicious (and bubbling when it came out!). I also loved the way they put together the top/puff pastry.The striped bass was also perfectly cooked, and very flavorful. The sauce it was in was really good, and I loved the olives in addition to the green beans, potatoes and tomatoes. Overall - it was a different, and really nice experience to have a really nice meal while skiing! Will for sure be back! read more

I think this place has a lot of room for improvement. The space itself is very nice; although there are lots of tables and people packed in, the slipper room is great and gives you a chance to rest your feet while you eat. This restaurant is a great concept that just needs some better execution. I've been here several times over the last year, and I have to say the service and the food leave much to be desired. They got two of our orders wrong at first, and then brought me the wrong order a second time! My family had to awkwardly wait as they finished their meals and I still waited for mine. Not exactly what you want when you're eager to get back on he slopes. Unfortunately this has happened to us on multiple occasions here... The food was alright - bread is tasty, but the rest is so-so. $17 elk chili tasted bland; I'd never guess it was elk. But let's be honest, you're really not paying these high prices for top-notch food; you're paying for convenience and ambiance. If they could just improve the food quality and fix the service (seriously, you shouldn't consistently receive wrong orders at a restaurant that brands itself as fine dining), then I think The 10th could be on its way to being a top quality restaurant. read more

The 10th is Vail's flagship sit-down restaurant, located smack dab on the center of your trail map in Mid Vail. I've never stopped here for a meal during the ski day, (because I'm too busy skiing, duh!) but I've come by here twice for après ski food & cocktails. The 10th stays open till about 10-11pm, with after-hours access via the Vail One gondola. You won't be able to board the gondola with skis after 4pm because the mountain is technically closed and they don't want you skiing down in the dark. They have an OK happy hour, offering a few $12 après food items, but this isn't a place to go if you're looking to save money! Expect to shell out around $15 per drink and $35-$45 for entrees. Kids can get a three-course prix fixe for $24, which sounds good until you see that the "starter" is celery sticks with ranch, entrees range from PB & J to mac & cheese, and dessert is a choice of cookies or fruit....Well at least they have sunscreen and mouthwash in the bathrooms, and lockers with slippers you can change into! The 10th is definitely worth a visit, if for nothing else, so you can get a scenic ride on the gondola and take in some beautiful views once you're up there. If you're looking for a quick bite amidst a jam-packed day of skiing, you may want to go elsewhere. read more

I used to absolutely love this place, but was very disappointed this year. They must have changed their chef! There was no burger on the menu and even though they still had truffle fries, they were not as good as before. I had a hard time finding something that I wanted on the menu and wound up getting the meatballs with polenta. I was very disappointed. They were quite bland - had very little taste. Not sure if I will go here again unless the menu changes. The view is still outstanding, but that isn't enough if the food isn't good and what skiers want! read more

I live in Vail full time and was at a party with several other locals recently and we had lunch at The 10th. I used to think it was a terrific restaurant but not this time! I had a Caesar salad that tasted like it was from a bad coffee shop. The dressing was meh, the croutons were like bricks (obviously tossed out of a store bought box), the romaine was so-so. And as I recall it was $20. The waiter's name was Penguin (yes) and when I said the salad tasted like it was from Denny's he said "Well, that's what we were going for". Really? Actually Denny's would have been better. And his attitude sucked. The only good part of our lunch was an appetizer pizza that was sensational. This place used to be great. I notice most of the good reviews are from a few years ago! Vail Resorts does it again....overcharges and under delivers. read more

WHAT TF HAPPENED TO THIS PLACE??? It used to be such a highlight of a ski day. We were appalled at the quality of the food we had today. Everything was PRE-PREPARED and literally microwaved. And if it wasn't that's what it tastes like, Our hot food was cold and had to be reheated. The tomatoes in the salad were soft and mushy. The lettuce was wilted. Nothing could be modified (and weren't asking outlandish accommodations - we wanted the bacon left off). The price is insane and you are better off eating at Wildwood or Two Elk (which also sucks now, btw). The restaurant itself needs a major overhaul; it looks worn and tired. The only thing that seems to have been updated is the hostess stand?? the carpet, the chairs, all of it, looks old dated and threadbare. The whole experience made me feel like a complete waste of money and time. Our server was great, however. read more

Been here several times and usually appreciate the good food and great service. This year, the management must be different though. Staff are harried and, while friendly, just not up to snuff. Today we were sitting outside and a bird flew down, landed on my friends plate, and flew off with a bun. The response was "you are eating in nature and at your own risk." I get it if you are at a McD's, but in Vail at the 10th?? Disappointing. Hope management is replaced soon so I can look forward to returning. read more

I was truly shocked at the quality of dining The 10th delivers considering the location. We weren't skiing and only went there for the view in April. We were simply amazed by culinary standards management maintains.The newly added Croque Monsieur flat bread rivals anything from the countryside of France! The signature cocktails were delicious and the staff was excellent. The outside balcony has outstanding views of the slopes and you can sneak inside for a quick application of complimentary sunscreen or a warm-up by the fireplace. It's a must-do in my humble opinion... for sure in the slow season! :) read more

The view is not worth the horrible service. I've been coming here for years and have typically enjoyed myself. This Easter Sunday, my family and I attempted lunch at The 10th but quickly walked out after being mistreated. Kyle, the general manager was incredibly rude to my party after they didn't specify the limit for how many people they could sit at one table. This policy is totally understandable, but it was not communicated in advance. When I politely expressed surprise, Kyle aggressively said that he overheard the phone call and that it was communicated. He insisted on this, was even rolling his eyes at me and when I addressed the poor service, he raised his voice at me to the point of causing a scene in the restaurant. The issue was NOT that they couldn't seat my party all together, it was the rude and condescending tone that both Kyle and Matt expressed. I will not be returning. read more

The total experience is what sells this restaurant. The food is dependable - good to very good. But the atmosphere is fantastic, especially as a mid-day break from skiing. Views of the Gore Range out nearly every window are spectacular. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with a high ceiling and exposed beams, and stone walls. A stop here for lunch means you get waited on, served hot food and some pretty good perks: slippers to give your tired feet a rest and bathroom amenities. Also that you don't have to walk around searching for a table balancing your lunch precariously on a cheap plastic tray while you troll the area for someone who will make eye contact with you and let you join their table. The prices are expectedly expensive, though when you consider you will be spending $16 for a burger at one of the other restaurants that do not have table service, I think it's worth the premium. read more

I walked in, amazed by the splendor of the lodge. Then meandered over to the coat room, removed my boots, and slid on a pair of comfey slippers. Oh boy... Anticipation was high; how could apre ski get better? We found a table by the big fire, covered up in a blanket, and went to order drinks. Beer, yes what a refreshing idea. Oh wait... They were out of the first 4 beers I tried to order. Womp womp, but I settled on the flight tasting. I do have to say a great option! Then for food. Ordered the fondu and a pizza. Pricey, but we were expecting that for 'on the mountain' apre ski.... but then our apre ski turned for the worst. Starting with the fondu, the beer mustard had clearly expired; it tasted nothing of mustard, but rather a rotten green brown paste. Then to the two tiny slices of potatoes. Maybe our table would have tried them if THEY HAS BEEN WASHED. yes dirt was on the potatoes. Luckily, we still had enough items for dipping for a collective 5 bites amongst the group. And to the cheese... Tasted like one slice of ementhaler with a full udder of milk. We questioned if there was truly cheese in the fondu. (Disclaimer, we are Swiss and have high expectations). Even so, luckily we had the pizza to save the day To the pizza - it looks cute. Literally, $17 got us a personal pan the size of my 5th grade cafeteria pizzas. We each had a small slice, probably about $.75 per square inch, but it was relatively good. Not quite as tasty as the chucky cheese I went to for my 12th bday party, but definitely better than the Caesars pizza at my local gas station. Honesty, we expected gourmet pizza, and got a personal pan. Being serious as a good critic, this restaurant had major potential. The interior decor, design, and service is impeccable. For that service, and ambiance, I bump from a 1 to 2 stars. However, the food quality would require someone to pay for me to eat there again. I had a very anemic green salad with zero flavor and my friend ordered the turkey club which was just okay. This restaurant charged $12 for the bread and $2 for extra butter. I was a little disturbed about how fast the gondola was going when we had to get on and off. I figured if the gondola isn't going to stop, it could at least slowed down a bit. I was also expecting the guys outside of it to help people get on and off, but that didn't happen. Needless to say, a few people fell while getting on and off. On to the restaurant. I dined here on June 19th for a buffet style dinner while on a conference with my job. It was an open bar, so I told the bartender to surprise me with something made of rum. Whatever he concocted was awful. So, I went with something basic, belvedere and cranberry juice. Again, it was awful. When I looked around, a lot of people had almost full drinks. I just surmised the bartender wasn't very good. I then opted for ginger ale. The buffet options were grilled vegetables, assorted cheeses, top round, salmon, a station where they made pasta (red sauce and alfredo), and pizza bread. The salmon was good and I would have liked the vegetables better if they had been warm. The vegetables were pretty cold. The cheddar cheese was mild and very delicious, but the gouda wasn't very good. The assorted dessert they had was pretty tasty, unfortunately other than the brownie, I couldn't say what it all was. The atmosphere was very nice and inviting, but that's the best of it. read more

(DO THIS AT LEAST ONCE IN YOUR LIFE) This on mountain restaurant is located directly at the top of the Vista Bahn lift (16) at Mid-Vail, Adjacent to Wildwood Express (3) and Mountain Top (4) lifts. The facility is very upscale with a terrific coat room. That has all the finer touches a skier with higher standards would expect, and even a few you might not expect. Firstly there are hard wood cubby holes for your helmet, gloves, boots as well as hooks for your coat. Also a bench to take off your boots and finally put on the very posh and very warm slippers they provide to ensure you're comfortable for the duration of your lunch experience. Washing up at the sink area / bathroom area is complete with lotions, mouth wash, towels etc. I also understand that in the women's side there are hair brushes and hair dryers. I'm sure there are a plethora of other details I'm missing that round out the amenities (i.e. tissues), but I'm sure if it's something a skier would need, it's there. The service was good, maybe a little too good? I felt like they might have been trying a little too hard, or were inexperienced as waiters. Their presence at the table was noticed a little too often, little things that added up, like asking if we wanted a refill on our sodas / water instead of just bringing a fresh one. The menu isn't extensive. But it has a little bit of everything for everyone. At our table was: The French Dip with au jus for $18. It was pretty good, although it could have come with a bit more meat. The Au jus was brought out in a small cup that resembled a tiny pitcher (I'm sure there's a specialized name for it) then poured out into a bowl at the table to retain the heat. However I didn't notice it being very hot. Also it adds a bit of elegance to the meal. The fries that came with the meal were pretty good. Although this wasn't my meal I did try it, It was ok. The Slow Cooked Elk Bolognese with hand cut tagliatelle, San Marzano tomatoes and cured black olives for $19. This was my personal dish, its description was better than its execution. I generally love elk but this ground elk was nearly indistinguishable from very lean beef. Also the flat noodles (tagliatelle) were nearly an inch and a quarter thick, more like a Thai flat noodle but more meaty. It was more watery than tomato based plenty of olives however. Overall I'm fairly neutral about this dish. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't great. I wouldn't say I was disappointed though. Don't quote me exactly on the next two items, I'm pretty sure these are it, but can't recall the menu exactly it might have changed, I know it was chili and I know it was scallops: "Spicy Rosen Ranch Lamb Chili, Smoked Green Chiles, Anasazi Beans, Humbolt Fog Chevre cup 8 bowl 14" - Served in an iron skillet and still hot at the end of our meal. I kept going back to it since I wasn't in love with my Elk dish. This is Defiantly a great choice. "Nantucket Sea Scallops, Organic Red Quinoa, Braised Kale, Capers, Smoked Pine Oil & Warm Bacon Dressing 26" - I didn't try this but I know good seafood when I see it. This looked to be perfectly prepared. lightly browned on top, sizzling when it reached the table. Presentation was terrific, and my girlfriend said it was extremely delicious! She was in love with her dish. Even a few days later she was telling people about her lunch at the 10th and I'm sure here in a few days you'll see a review from Sarah C. exclaiming how wonderful it was. That rounds out the dishes at our table... The easiest improvement the 10th could make to bump my food rating up would be to have fresh baked and warm bread brought to the table. Their current offering is cool and lack luster. If you're faced between eating at one of the other on mountain dining options or the 10th it's a very easy choice! What a great respite from the cafeteria-style lodge food at the other camps around the mountain. You really feel pampered here with friendly staff, a great hall of a mud room to slip off your gear and put on some comfy slippers, and a meal fit for foodies. I recommend the Mussels, Wagyu carpaccio, truffle fries, steelhead trout, pot pie, pork belly, and the salads. Drinks were also amazing: Running with the bubbles was a favorite at our table. When eating incredible food while gazing at the Rocky Mountains, I'm pretty sure you could serve me anything and I wouldn't even care. But the fact that The 10th serves amazing food half-way to the top of beautiful Vail Mtn. is a feat in itself. That said, if you are prepared to drop a little bit of dough, this is a must if you come to Vail. You'll be pampered with slippers to ease your feet of the painful ski boots, and a bathroom complete with hair dryers for the ladies. Say what? So you take the major Vail village tram up the mountain and then there is this little grass shack off to the side down the back side of the area and some dudes working in it. Eat there! It's called The Beach at Mid-Vail. I was pretty much alone up there (middle of the week during September), but it was beautiful to sit outside on the picnic benches and the Hawaiian Burger was delicious!! It was a little slice of heaven and the dudes that work there are all laid back and beach (ski) bum cool. I loved it. Everyone is hiking and biking, but the burger was just perfect for me. It is cooked to order and done perfectly. One of the best tasting burgers I have had... seriously. Maybe it was the altitude and my Rocky Mountain High. Ha! read more

Vibrant and great backdrop view mid mountain on a Friday rush not too chaotic to get a bar seat. Attention is prompt and friendly Sahsa and Ben are very attentive and friendly and the food has great options. Can enter with ski boots on and only pen for lunch. The experience of taking a gondola ride here and the views are a 5 hands down! The food was a solid 3. But the service was baaaaad.
