This is the best Italian restaurant I have ever eaten at and I am a very frequent traveler for business. The wait staff are outstanding, the food was incredible and don't let the small size of the place dissuade you it's outstanding. I had the Veal Saltimbuca and it the best veal I have eaten ever. As you can tell I loved this spot, come here if you are serious about good food!!!
With so many restaurants serving good Italian food, it's so hard to decide on where to go eat sometimes. After narrowing down a few places, we decided on checking out That's Amore. When we arrived, we waited to be seated as we had no reservations but it didn't take too long. A couple in front of us sat at the bar so that is an option for those who don't want to wait or like dining at the bar. We did get seated only a minute or two after them so we got lucky with a table. Customer service was quick and they all speak English from what we observed. We took a look at the menu and decided to get the same thing. This was a first all trip. We ordered the Spaghetti ai frutti di mare. I didn't think I was going to be full so I also ordered a Prosciutto e Bufala. It didn't take long for our drinks and the Prosciutto e Bufala to arrive. After I finished the Antipasti, they quickly took away our plates and a few minutes later, our pasta arrived. It looked and smelled great! Mink's plate looked a lot better than mine so they definitely need to work on consistency. I also got a lot of shells with no seafood inside. Overall, it was still really good and we enjoyed our meal.
Came by on our first night in Rome for a quick dinner. Overall it was pretty good! There were one or two places that we liked slightly more, but we were very happy coming here. The sauces here were very thick which was good but maybe not my personal preference. Service was good. It's busy and a bit loud next to the street (especially when cars are honking).
Highly recommend visiting this place when in Italy! My friend found it as highly recommended on Google and it was right near the Travi Fountain. We found their original location but they were completely booked. Lucky for us, a waitress told us there was a 2nd location near this original location. She actually went out of her way to walk us to the other location. Ended up getting the Lasagna di mia Nonna. The lasagna is already cooked (mushy). I highly recommend getting this dish. It is one of the best dishes I had on my trip to Italy. The dish had beef, high quality mozzarella, and tomatoes.
The first thing we ate when arriving in Italy was here. We wanted to try some pizza and this was within a minute walk from our hotel, so we stopped in. Menu is nice, food looked and smelled very good. Our pizza tasted great! Their bruschetta was excellent! The basil on it was so good! Service was mediocre. Overall, it was very good!
I was recommended by a colleague of mine to come to this place when I am in Rome. It did not disappoint. I went to the one location, but there was a long line to get in. I asked the hostess how long the wait is and she said at least one hour. She then offered to take us to their other location, which is a two minute walk away. She even escorted us over there to make sure we did not get lost. We just walked right in to their second location and seated right away. The food and the service staff was amazing. 5 all around
Was craving pizza and decided to give this place to try because of the much rave reviews on TripAdvisor. Is is a good walk from the fountain Trevi, but well worth it. I had the fried calamari for my appetizer, which was nice and lightly crisp with marinara sauce. For pizza I ordered the margarita pizza which came in this cute heart shaped. It was so cheesy and delicious. The place was very cute with many photos displayed around the restaurant, and the chef was present as well. The service was attentive and friendly.
If you want delicious pasta and pizza, or seafood too, and you want it fast, I recommend this place especially. The first time I went, the waitress was a little rude but she took care of our table of six. Food was great and the ambiance was too, we were more concerned about the delicious margarita pizzas, fettuccini Alfredo, Dolce Vita Spritz(18+), and everything else. The second time, our party of eight was seated fast and our waiter was very nice about our lacking Italian. Our food came out hot and delicious which prompted some in our group go come back again, for a third time! Overall really good food, nice people, pretty restaurant.
Intro: When the moon hits your eye, like a big pizza pie, that's amore! I couldn't help it. After walking for hours upon hours in the heat of the summer in Rome (98 degrees), I was looking for a spot for dinner on a Friday night that was close by. Despite having an English name (which made me skeptical that it's a tourist trap), the restaurant has good reviews and it's one of the most reviewed restaurants in Rome so I got over my initial hesitation. Service (3.5/5): I will say that I judge service with an American lens. Service at restaurants in Europe tends to be slower, less friendly, and less efficient than service in the states. While this restaurant fit the bill in terms of speed and efficiency, the staff was a little more friendly than average. They also have free WiFi which is clutch for international travelers. Ambiance (4/5): Like most restaurants in Rome, they have al fresco dining but this Italian restaurant also has a large interior by Italian standards. I was seated at the bar. There are six or so seats at the bar which is also a plus as most restaurants in Rome don't have bar seating. Drinks (4/5): I didn't drink alcohol on this visit though I always recommend going with red or white house wine, Italian beer, or an Aperol Spritz while in Italy. Instead, I went with an Italian soda (I forget the exact name but it starts with a "C") and a pear juice. Food (3/5): I started off with the suppli al telefono appetizer. This was my first time trying this Roman classic. Think of it as similar to a croquette. The one I ordered was fried and stuffed with tomatoes and cheese. You only get one but it was "delicioso." From there, I went with the spaghetti carbonara, another Roman classic. One of my favorite pasta dishes, this was a generous portion by Italian standards. They also bring you fresh parmesan which is always a nice touch. Unfortunately, the sauce was too salt heavy. As a result, it didn't stack up with other carbonaras I've had elsewhere. Overall: A charming restaurant with a large menu. But one that was average in my book.
Awesome little corner restaurant right next to a busy square. Food was absolutely delicious with a lot a flavor and reasonably priced. They have a great wine menu either by the bottle or by the glass. Overall, a very positive experience and I would definitely go back again on my next trip to Rome.

Four of us dined here two consecutive nights and we opted for different dishes each time so we had a range of food. On night one I had pasta with black truffle which was darn good, but I did have a much better pasta/truffle dish in Split, Croatia the previous week in a restaurant situated where a reputedly famous Game of Thrones walk of shame scene was filmed. I've never seen the show nor do I have any desire to do so. On night two I opted for the fried cod starter and a pasta carbonara with pork cheek. I've not had pork cheek before and it was truly delicious. One of our party had the fried zucchini flower night two and deemed it exquisite. This restaurant was just along from our apartment. The place buzzed nightly with happy diners. The food was top notch and fairly well priced for the quality and portion size. The service was rapid on both nights which we were all grateful for as we were hungry each night as we walked for miles around Rome every day. We had beers, wine and bottled water each night and on night one our bill for four was under £90 including tip and £105 on night two. They have a staffer outside luring in diners. She's quite the charmer. The restaurant was full each night with a queue of people waiting to get in - oh and there's not a lot of space between the tables. On night two there was torrential rain which flooded the uneven cobblestoned streets outside and even though our apartment was a two minute walk we got well soaked on the way back. The unevenness underfoot created deep puddles of water so wet feet too. Just in closing there's a charming waiter here maybe a 20 something bloke who is very likeable in a sleazy sort of way. When one of our party chose her main he oozed gelatinously that it was his favourite toooooo. Next night he was at another table, equally charming another female diner who chose a completely different dish, which also just happened to be his favourite dish too. It seems almost all the food on the menu is his favourite. Anyway he's harmless and a good salesman but the food is real quality and speaks for itself whether he's smooshing there or not. We only felt ripped off once when we were persuaded to have a side of bread for 6 slices that was charged at €6 and then as well overpriced but instead of fussing we reduced our tip. That said it's real worth support and we'd return in a heart beat. read more

This has to be one of the best restaurants in all of Italy. Definitely top 3 for the wife and I. We ate here our first night in Rome and everything from the service to the drinks and the food, was perfect. The tables are rather close together, but it wasn't a big deal for us. We still felt like we were able to have a romantic personal conversation with ease. It is located in a great area, close to shopping, the Trevi Fountain and more. read more

We came in for lunch on a week day, and it was pretty busy, but we were able to get a table right away. The service was good but not amazing. The ambiance was like a typical sit down lunch cafe. Overall, the food was tasty and good to share. The pizza was heart shaped which was pretty cute. The crust was thin, light, and delicious. The white pizza was yummy, but I still prefer the red sauce. The pasta tasted fresh, lots of sauce, seasoned well. read more
If I could give zero stars I would. I DO NOT understand the reviews this restaurant has received. The "great" reviews is why we tried this place and everything about it was a disaster! The service was HORRENDOUS! The host was so rude, he was quoting EVERYONEEE that it would be 15 minutes to get seated, it took 45-1 hour for every one in front of us including ourselves. Ambiance was awful, crammed little restaurant and the servers run around and don't help you and forget everything. Our food and drinks were sitting around for a while and our server forgot to bring them to us until we brought it to his attention... including a drink where the ice has already completely melted... we sat indoors lol. He didn't even care, didn't apologize. We sent the drinks back and said no thank you. He had attitude after that. The food was awful, the worst caprese, the quality of mozzarella was awful. I didn't take a picture of our entrees because I wanted to leave immediately after trying them. The pasta was disgusting, I had a bite and literally stoped after that. I don't think I've ever done that. Honestly, just save yourself and don't come here! read more

I hadn't yet tried a Margherita pizza in Italy. My husband hadn't tried a pasta with pomodoro ragu. Crowded on a busy Saturday night with no reservation and the friendly hostess found un tavolo per due. Yay! Handsome waiter took our order with charm, flirting with happy patrons as he did so. The food? My husband loved and gobbled down his al dente pasta bollognese. My pizza was in an adorable heart shape and really enough pizza for two. It was good. Not amazing. Could be I'm American and used to loads of topping. I gave only 4 stars because the gal who was charging our card actually hovered and asked for a tip. This is RUDE in Italy, made us uncomfortable and we won't be back. Hovering for tips is creepy even in the USA. read more

Next to fountain Trevi. Full of tourist that doesn't feel awful. Good ambience, good drinks and food. Portions were on smaller side. Make a reservation, the place was steadily full. read more

I would rate it a 3 for the food, but this place gets 4 stars for the service. Located in an extremely busy area flooded with tourists. This place was able to seat us quickly despite the amount of people eating there. They seat you, take your order and it seems the food comes out fast. The servers were friendly. Their cocktails were a little too sweet for my taste- I probably would order a wine next time instead. The tiramisu was probably our favorite out of everything we ordered. Pizza was just ok, but the stellar service and quick seating made us forget all about that because we were just hungry. read more

Regardless of your resistance to eat anywhere touristy (English menu and they ensure their bill says "tip not included"), I still think this place is awesome and you should check it out! I recommend getting the Amatriciana pasta and the Cacio e Pepe. Would recommend getting a reservation but walk-ins are possible. We were told at 7PM, if reservations don't show up and/or there are tables available, we would be seated, and we indeed got a seat right away. That's love! read more
My friend got the Carbonara and it was pretty good. Creamy white truffle like sauce with bits of bacon but a little too salty for my taste. Also my fettuccine was a bit salty as well. Bolognese sauce wasn't amazing but the home made fettuccine pasta was AMAZING and that's what my 4 stars are for, the pasta. Perfectly cooked and amazing texture but I LOVE homemade pasta so this was a place I looked forward to. Due to the salty sauce and everything else was ok. I would say it's ok to skip, cause you can probably find somewhere better. This is near the Trevi so it's probably hyped up for tourist. Also there's a restroom inside which is a plus by the bar to your left! read more
GOOD. This is more of a tourist place (ie Italian Chili's), but the food was pretty decent. The bruschetta had fresh tomatoes and mozzarella served on crispy bread. The lasagna was served piping hot in a bowl and not many layers but it was good. The gnocchi was good but nothing special. There was a problem with our reservation but the maître d' made it work. Omg!! The octopus with potato and pesto is to die for!! It was so good I forgot to take pictures.. the octopus was tender not over cooked, the potato with pesto adds to the richness of the dish! the meal itself was soooo good, but like all Italian restaurants the service and table touch is far and few. I get it's a cultural thing and appreciates not having to engage in conversation with food in my mouth, but if you want to add to your order it might take awhile. Also had the caprese and their seafood pasta, can't go wrong with caprese and the pasta was flavorful no need for additions. read more

We were in Rome in June 2024 and took a cooking class through That's Amore but little did we know when we started the class that they also had a restaurant. I cannot recommend the cooking class enough! And the same goes for the restaurant. We loved it so much we ate there twice! The servers were outstanding and personable. The food was delicious! And the menu had so many choices. My fav drink was the Dolce Vita. We also loved that this restaurant was open air and the vibes were cute and cozy. read more

Stopped in here for dinner on a weekend and got sat right away! Service was quick and very friendly. The restaurant was packed and people were waiting in line when we left. We got the bruschetta to start which I'd recommend! I got the spaghetti alla amatriciana for dinner and it tasted great but I was hoping the pasta would be more Al dente like all the others pastas I've had in Italy. This one didn't have much of a bite which I was craving. read more

Stumbled upon this place while looking for dinner, and so glad we did! I was worried about not getting into a restaurant since it was so busy but luckily they squeezed us in with no problem. My boyfriend and I sat at the bar and it was perfect! Staff was super friendly, and the food was delicious! We ordered caprese (must try!) Fries, their house-made focaccia which is so good!!! And two pizzas, one margarita and a Quattro formagi which both were great and even came shapes like a heart. Great place to Stop off for drinks and pizza or apps and in an excellent location. read more
Not worth the hype, go somewhere else. Tried to make a reservation on the phone, but no response, so we waited for an hour on the waitlist for a table. The host didn't even acknowledge us for 20 min, and then after 40 min outside in the cold, we were finally seated at the bar, even though we saw a couple open tables inside sitting empty. Service was slow too. Someone in my party asked for hot water because their throat was sore. They didn't bring the hot water until the end of the meal, after the person in my party reminded them. No bread was offered until we asked, even though everyone else had it. We asked for hot sauce/spicy powder for our food. The servers were confused and then said they didn't have anything. Later, we saw that they had chili flakes and hot sauce sitting on a counter with other condiments. When I asked the server and bartender about it again, they mentioned that they didn't think that we should add any spice to our dishes, so they didn't give it to us and said that they didn't have any. If I'm paying for a dish and service and I want a certain condiment, that's my decision and not someone else's. read more

Visited this restaurant 5 times during our stay - that's how great it was! Our favorite was the taglicata di pesto di pollo (chicken with rocket salad on top) with balsamic vinegar. The focaccia bread was outstanding but we learned you had to ask for it - we did not see it on the menu but learned of it from other diners. Risotto was also a favorite. Nicely decorated with a friendly staff. We made reservations each time via text (number found on website). Response was swift. Location was perfect near Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps. We would have preferred the tables to be further apart but it did give us the chance to converse with other patrons who were up for talking about their trip etc. read more

It unexpectedly started to rain when we were a few blocks from Trevi Fountain, and we were hungry, so we made a quick decision to jump into That's Amore. I was a little hesitant because of the English name but I was not disappointed at all. It's a small and crowded restaurant, but the service is fast and friendly. The lasagna was the creamiest I've ever tasted. And it's a generous amount of food. Check it out! read more

Ambiance was simple but nice with walls lined up with pictures of classic Hollywood actors. It's walking distance to Trevi Fountain & Spanish steps. Waiters were all friendly. Foods were delicious. There were 6 of us who ordered 6 different dishes and we all enjoyed all of the dishes we had. read more
