Ummm okay let me say that I have been going to All of Danny Sanchez's 80's themed Bars for years! I Love them all mostly go to Club 80's in Corona But tonight we decided to head out to Montclair. First things first parking is amazing a lil scary but amazing sooooo much room. Next Danny if you read this your Staff at this location is On POINT!! I am a CM for the Walt Disney Company and I can tell you the service I received tonight rivals that of my own Multi Billion Dollar Employer!! Let's talk about VIVIAN!! Vivian is the Manager and incredibly kinda and accommodating. Our Server in VIP (Can't remember his name but it was 02/05/2022 and he was the only server in the VIP area, but anyway so prompt and attentive. THE DJ!!!! Okay dude was amazing he played EVERYTHING he was not heavy on any one type of music. Now the Clientele everyone was awesome no snobby wannabes like in other cities like **cough** named like a current pandemic, even though I love my Club 80's out there, this place just had a Vibe and it was infectious in a good way. My ONLY complaint was the sound on the David Bowie performer could not hear any vocals but I'm almost positive that was the performers Personal microphone and sadly Club speakers are not equalized for singing. The woman at the door was unnecessarily rude. I couldn't believe how rude she was, especially when we were not at all being rude to her. We were just trying to clarify something with her and she had a disgusting attitude. Clearly she is miserable in her job and that is no excuse to treat customers so poorly. We brought it to the attention of the manager and they had little to say about it. We will definitely not return to an establishment where customers are treated with such disrespect. We used to come here all the time, and just came last week for my birthday. Honestly, some rude workers or manager idk, the drinks are waaaayy overpriced. We booked here for 12/10 but some of our friends got sick and for everyone's safety we opted to cancel. I was worried because they do have a NO refund policy. I tried to ask anyway (7 days prior) because it was something we didn't expect. I emailed and left them a message. Took a few days to get a response but it was positive and they understand and refunded my money. I truly appreciate that. When everyone is healthy, we will book again. So my pal Jordan told me about this place. And I've been wanting to go there for a long time, but never found an excuse to do so. Well my good friend Jean was in town and I told her about it. Now she loves 80's music as much as I do, so we decided to go scope this place out. We get to the front door and per the $10 per head cover charge. (Very friendly and nice door people by the way.) A quick word about the drinks ... I ordered a rum and Coke, and the barkeep almost filled my glass to the top with rum, and kinda waved the Coke nozzle over it. That was awesome ... I thought for sure they'd try and short pour drinks, but it was the other way around! The guys behind the bar were cool, fast, and definitely NOT selfish with the alcohol. So we walk into the room and saw a ton of people there, bit no one dancing. Seriously, it was like an 8th grade dance. The DJ had a great mix going, but everyone was staring at the dance floor. Jean goes, "Let get this party started!" So we head out to the dance floor. I guess people took that as the cue to start dancing, because everyone piled out onto the dance floor. The party went from zero to 100 in less than 2 minutes. It was like the dance scene in Footloose ... which made sense. They have tons of video monitors with all kinds of 80's videos playing, I spent most of my time watching the screen seeing all of those videos I grew up with. The music was loud, almost too loud, but I like it that way. I like people watching ... and there was plenty of people to watch. Not in a pervy kind of way, but I just like noticing what kind of diversity a place has. In an age where people are for the most part body conscience, it seems most bars/nightclubs are for the beautiful people (as in good looking, no the Marilyn Manson type of beautiful people), so if you aren't a size 0 or weight 96 pounds, you feel like you don't belong. Not at That 80's Bar. There were people of all ages and sizes rocking the dance floor. This really is a "come as you are" type of place. Most people had regular and "nightclub" clothes on, but there was a strong contingency of people rocking 80's clothes, and big hair. One gal there had the side of her head shaves. It was really cool to see EVERYONE having a good time and not being judged. Nice touch. (Here's a top secret for the single guys: The girl to guy ratio there was a least 5 to 1 on a Saturday night. Like no kidding, most of the girls were dancing with themselves because the scarcity of men. Have it, guys. You can thank me later.) So was there anything "bad" about the place? I only have a couple small complaints. 1. They could upgrade the air conditioning in the place. It was pretty hot and sweaty on the dance floor. They DO have A/C in there, just not enough ... I know because I was constantly trying to pogo people out of the way so I could stand under the A/C vent. 2. I would have loved to heard some of the other 80's new wave bands like Devo, Gary Numan, Flock of Seagulls, and Wall of Voodoo. And 3. Where was all the 80's hair metal? All I heard while we were there was "Sweet Child 'o Mine" by guns and Roses. I know I know. It's a small thing, so I can't really ding them any points. read more

Female bartenders refuse to give customers tap water. I am 100% sure that is illegal. They may charge for the glass, but here they only sell bottled water. They also kick everyone off the public sidewalk as if they own that as well. Definitely not worth a cover charge. Report has been made with the authorities. Hopefully the owner sees this and addresses the problem and I will remove my review. read more

if I could give them 0 star I would however I cannot give them that. so i will be giving them 1 star review. me and my fiancé just walked up to the door and the security Alex automatically judge us and said we had too many and aren't allowed to come in. I have never been so embarrassed and judged in my life. I am very well known in the industry I am a personal blogger. for Alex which was a security working at the door, has very poor IQ judging talent, I do not recommend for anyone to come to this location if you wanna be judge no apparent reason. I came here to view and review the location and the music says I heard from a couple of my friends that the music is great. however I did not get to gain that experience because Alex security do not love me to go in for no parent reason management needs to be more on their employees because it's going to drop their business down. so sad to see this and to experience such thing. read more

It's the perfect atmosphere to hang out with friends. The DJ was great, and the band knocked it out of the ballpark! Heads-up. It's cash only. There is a ATM machine inside. And if you like a solid drink, their limited on the scotch-whiskey's. But the Chivas worked. with that said. I recommend the 80's bar. It's NOT a raunchy place, good staff, and tables available. This place is okay for a casual night out with causal friends. The environment is basic. Sometimes there are weird people (men) around that stare too much just like any other bar. The music is good. I've been there on a Michael Jackson night where an impersonator came to preform. I love MJ so this was really fun to watch. JUST DON'T COME HERE!! This place could have created a fun night out with friends, but it's the staff that completely kills your night. The night started out okay, I shared a fish bowl with 3 of my friends and the price wasn't so bad; around $20! We also had one more round of fruity cocktails, which weren't that strong and we didn't even finish them. Somehow, the security thought this was too much alcohol for one of my girlfriends to handle and instructed her to go outside to "get some fresh air"....little did we know, this was their lingo for "GTFO!" She wasn't even that drunk or causing a scene. They didn't let her come back inside, which was completely rude because her purse and jacket were still in the lounge. How is she supposed to leave without her belongings?? Also, since we had a few drinks, it's only common sense that she needed to use the restroom, so when she asked the bouncer to JUST use the restroom, they told her she wasn't allowed inside. My other friend asked to speak with the manager about their unfair service, but he was just as rude as the security. He wouldn't even let us or one of his staff accompany her to (like I said) JUST use the bathroom and to get her things. (I mean, we EACH paid their $10 cover charge, so why not let my friend use the bathroom? Should we use your curb as a toilet? Come on!? And Montclair...having a cover charge? This isn't LA!!!) Luckily, I was able to get our things and leave. Needless to say, we aren't coming back and I WOULDN'T recommend anyone coming here. This place was GREAT! A little old looking, but great. I know some people commented about the older crowd but guess what......ITS AN 80's BAR! The "older crowd" was around for the 80's! The music was fantastic. The drinks were great and reasonable. The service was better than expected. The waitresses were on it. They were by our table and other tables every few minutes. The bar was also available and they were quick. I loved that there was a second group of employees just walking around picking up empties. Our table never had an empty bottle or empty glass. Everyone was having such a great time. People were there to have drinks, listen to great music and dance. So many different groups were there for birthdays. It's a great place to come in a group. Visited this club last night and we had a ball! The band was good, DJ had the '80's and some '90's music, and the drinks were right on! They had pints of Budlight for $3, before 8 pm. My friend had Stella pints throughout the night and those were $5. They also sold "fishbowls," which I had. I ordered The Terminator, equivalent to a screw driver :) It was a great buy! They are $20 but they last all night. At least it did for me since I was on the dance floor 50% of the time I was there. They serve no food so have dinner before. They also have a few tables with stools, which isn't common nowadays so I really liked that. Cover charge before 8 pm is $5 and $10 afterwards. As the club is named That '80's Bar, expect the crowd to be in their late 30's to early 50's. I wouldn't recommend this club to young ones lol. Ohh, parking is across the street, at the swap meet parking lot. That's the only thing I didn't like. We arrived early in hopes of finding a parking spot at the location but when we got there we noticed they blocked the entire parking spots at the location. They must have them reserved for staff. Attended for Metallica tribute night. You'd think it would be lots of fun with lots of metal music and moshing. *buzzing sound* WRONG! Band was supposed to go on at 10pm but people started getting on the dance floor around then so the DJ went on an extra hour playing Cindi Lauper. Don't get me wrong, I'm all up for girls just wanting to have fun...but please respect the headbangers such as myself. I give the thrash group 5 stars but the venue 3 stars because when the people were actually starting to feel the music and wanting to start circle pit, security broke it up! I love this place. It has awesome music but unfortunately if you leave your drinks unattended for even a min they take them and throw them out. My husband and I were dancing while our friend walked to the restroom. Not even five minutes later I noticed our drinks were gone. They couldn't even reimburse us since we were paying cash and didn't have a tab open. They need to be better about how they clear tables especially when the drinks are practically full. We took a party bus of 30 people here. We get here and we are waiting outside for 15 min, in the freezing cold so that security can check us 2 people at a time. $10 per person to get in. $300 in cover charge. we get inside order $500+ of alcohol and we are consistently bombarded by security to stay out of the security lane or to stay far enough away from the dance floor. Or when we asked about VIP table they are all booked after we pull out cash to pay for them. Yet no one is over there. This place is a joke. Security is a joke. The waitress are RUDE! The place seems like it gets an okay crowd the music was okay I've been to a lot of 80s bars. We drove out this way to check it out based on one review from someone we knew. What kills this place at least for me is the fact that they can keep serving you drinks and charging you what they want for their drinks but when it comes time to get a glass of water they want to hit you with buying bottled water for the whole table when they've already made your money off me by selling me a ton of drinks can I just get a glass of tap water. I've been around the world several times and I can't remember a place trying to sell me bottled water because they won't provide just a cup of ice with that water. What a horrible place. They aren't nice to their customers! We went there for a friends bday. She bought VIP tables. When we left the VIP area they would not let us back in since we did not have wrist bands. I understand (now) that you need a wrist band to be in that area. If that's the case, they should never have let us there at all. We tried to go back to get our beer and they wouldn't even escort us to get the beer we left on the table. They said go to the dance floor and reach over. That was incredibly rude. Then we tried to cash out our tab and had to wait for the waitress (since she was in the area we were no longer allowed into) for about 10 mins while our Lyft driver waited for us.
