I couldn't have asked for a better experience! Having never hired anyone for a residential project I was a tad skeptical. Let's just say- I was not disappointed. The owner was very kind and informative. Responded to any questions or concerns I had and the team did a fantastic job. Thoroughly impressed and I definitely recommend for any of your interior/exterior painting!! read more

Steven and his team were professional, timely, clean, communicative, the whole nine yards! He came out the day after we contacted him initially, provided a quick and accurate quote for both time spent and cost, and then we moved on to scheduling. His quote was significantly lower than others we received. Our project was delayed for a few weeks due to the unwavering rain in the Austin area, but Steven stayed in contact and kept us up-to-date with when he'd be able to start. We had a few slight changes and requests that his team took in stride and still completed the job in the allotted amount of time. I won't hesitate to book Steven for any of our painting needs in the future! read more

I needed the garage taped and painted and the deck re-stained. I got several quotes and That 1 Painter was the most reasonable. My rep Julio was very responsive and detail oriented. Levi and his team were my painters and they did a great job. Even fixed some holes in the walls without extra charge. Job went smoothly and they left the job site nice and tidy. I'd definitely use them again! Oh and the owner stopped by to check in and make sure I was taken care of. That was next level customer care. read more

Working with this Company was the most frustrating experience that I've ever had. Overall, the project was poorly managed, poorly staffed, and at one point I was threatened by the owner with putting a lien on my house. Granted this may partly have been because I was spewing my profanity laced complaints; after 3 months with painters in my house and an incomplete job I hit my maximum level of frustration. Even worse, I had an incomplete job with a company that I had lost all confidence in. At one point when I pointed out the shoddy workmanship to the owner, he said that the job was technically done. My house was painted. It didn't seem to matter to him that it was so poorly done and handled. I started the project in early November and after multiple crews and screwups I paid them their final invoice in March. I paid it, and they gave me a discount, but the job isn't finished. I just gave up on them. Let me be clear, I'm not without fault. I hired this company for a project that I was doing where I had to fire the general contractor mid-job. That 1 Painter was very accommodating, but after I got the general contractor sorted out and the project back on track, the painter just had one mistake after another, and nothing but excuses about the crew and availability. They had to paint my interior kitchen cabinets 4 times because they kept messing up. They had to come back 3 or 4 times in order to fix runs (dripping paint marks) that were on my interior walls. They had to come back multiple times in order to repair patches that were poorly done. They had to come back and sand the exterior of my house (which is brick) because here were drip marks there as well. And they had to come back multiple time in order to properly paint the exterior brick because at first they didn't paint it fully so there were patches of brick coming through the pint, and then, when they painted the patches, they painted it with the wrong paint color, so they had to come back and touch up their bad touch up work. Today, all of my doors have some peeling where you can see the original color. Most of the trim is poorly painted as well and you can see the color beneath coming through. They blamed their mistakes on everything: the paint I selected, the fact that the existing walls were a dark color (the new paint is white), you name it. Then, after all of this touch up and crews, etc, which is all happening over the holidays when I had family in town (they shoes up on New Year's Eve and wanted to take all of my kitchen cabinets down promising to be 'done in a few hours' but I protested and asked them to come back another time - I didn't want to spend New Year's Day in a construction zone), they went radio silent on me for a month. No follow up. No, how did we do? Just a bunch of automated text messages that say that my invoice is due. Mind you, there were still a bunch of issues. So then I get a voicemail from the owner asking me where my payment is, as I was standing in my kitchen, with a strip of painters tape dangling some from the ceiling above me because they didn't clean up after themselves, and that's when I just called him back and unleashed on him. I had had enough. Once I calmed down, I explained to the owner that I was frustrated and didn't have any confidence that they could finish the job correctly. He said that I needed to let them come and see what was wrong and fix it or else he's is going to have to put a lien on my house. I allowed them to come back, and come back, and come back. In the end, I was proven right. They never got it right. Save yourself the trouble. Just go with someone else. read more

I didn't have the experience others had with That1 painter. There was an inconsistency depending on which painter painted a room. When you pay over 9000 dollars to have something done you expect it to be done well. i sent pictures to the company since their work comes with a 3 year warranty but didn't get a response despite being told i would be contacted by a project manager. Glad the house has color now but guests thought I painted part of it myself. Ironically, for the smaller rooms my wife and I probably will redo it ourselves when we get time. The larger rooms require professionals so that will be an added expense. All that said, I don't think they are awful. Just inconsistent. I was living with it (super busy) until our first dinner party when a few folks asked about it. Then it felt pretty embarrassing. read more

They came out and were super pro!!! Straight forward pricing and top notch work. I will definitely use them again for my next painting project. read more

That 1 painter were fantastic to work with from start to finish. They responded and produced my quote quickly. Kea was assigned to manage my project, she was great to work with, super friendly, professional, kept me informed and went above and beyond to make sure I was happy. Her painting team did an outstanding job, extremely meticulous and completed the work within the time frame I was advised. Would highly recommend A+ read more

This my second time using their service they did a great job fast and a quality job will definitely use them again Mike was very helpful

I had That 1 Painter do an accent wall for me at my office. The painter who came out for my job, Michael, was SUPER punctual (actually about 30 mins early both times he came out-- whaaaat!?). There was a small touch up I wanted done after the first visit that I didn't notice due to lighting when he finished the first time, but they scheduled the touch up quickly and it looks perfect now. Very pleased with the end result, professionalism, and punctuality from start to finish, which are so rare with so many contractors these days. read more

That 1 Painter - Jose did an excellent job on fixing some cracks in our ceiling!!! Totally recommend him! - Painters Near Me - Austin, Texas

Have used these guys a few more times after my initial review and they always do a great, professional job. Edwin was our head painter this time and Kea stopped by to see how the project was going and to check if I was happy. Great company! read more

Meh. Price was in line with others. At first Steven was very personable. Job time and a subcontracted painting crew showed up to knock it out. I watched time lapse of the crew and they did do the two coats as promised. Steven showed up after the crew wrapped up to check out the job and collect the money. It took a few rounds of pointing out issues to get them done. In the end, it did get done. Also, Steven became less personable (not quite rude) when it came to fixing outstanding items. But he did address them. Spotted a few things later and just lost the enthusiasm to call him back out rather than slathering on paint myself (easier). In the end job was done. Nothing special. Not a bad experience. I prefer to work with people directly rather than having a middle man do nothing but sell jobs. There was nothing special about this company that would incentivize me using them again as a middle man. read more

Steven reached out to me to try to make up for some of the mistakes made the first time when his crew painted my trim and shutters. I appreciated the effort and he cleaned some of the paint drips they left on my brick, tried out some paint strippers we had bought on our brick, and he also painted a bathroom for us at no charge, and it looks pretty good! read more

That 1 Painter painted a bedroom in my house and stained the cedar on my studio. I'm pleased with the job - it looks great! I truly appreciate the crew that did the work. They arrived on time, were polite, careful, wore protective covering on their shoes inside the house and cleaned up everything when they left. If, at some point, I need additional work done I will call them again. read more

We recently had all the walls in our house painted by That 1 Painter. The work was scheduled within a week of receiving an estimate, which was great for our time frame. The painting crew did a great job, and were very accommodating to a few last minute requests. All-in-all, I'd hire That 1 Painter for future jobs in my home. read more

I recently had my mothers house painted by That 1 Painter, and although there were some minor issues, I am satisfied overall. I made an appointment for a free estimate, but when the day came, the estimator said due to rain he would not make it, and asked me to send photos instead. I got estimates from two different painters, and both were just about the same. I asked the project manager ahead of time what I should do to prepare the house, and he assured me I wouldn't have to do anything at all. However, several days ahead of the job, a different project manager took over, and told me I should take art off the walls, pull back furniture from the edges, and so on. On the first day, they found some additional taping that needed to be done, which would add a small amount to the job. I was okay with it, but I'm pretty sure if the estimator had shown up in person, it would have been discovered earlier. I was clear up front about when the work needed to be completed by, and they brought additional workers who worked late, and did get the job done in time. There was also a mixup regarding the paint color, but to their credit, the project manager owned up to the mistake, and made it right while still getting the job done on time. Once the work was complete, there were a few more small issues: the entire house was fairly dusty from sanding, there were a few small paint drips and smears here and there, the curtain rods I had left on the beds got stepped on and bent, and a handful of picture and curtain rod hangers got lost. Overall I am pleased with the work, and still am giving this crew 4-stars because the second project manager (David) was very communicative, owned up to his mistake, and they made the deadline; The crew was friendly and worked hard. The work itself was done well, and the price was in-line with other painters. I accept that the issues with brackets and rods would have been avoided if I had more thoroughly prepared, and placed those things in a safer location. read more

Overall I'd say the painters at That One Painter did a very nice job. They worked quickly and were courteous and prompt. They did make some mistakes, like not reinstalling curtain rods, mirrors, or closet racks. They also left some unpainted spots in several ares. And when they did put the closet rack in it was upside down. But they did come back out and fix everything about a week after the job was finished. They did quote a good price and they didn't overcharge for the time it took to fix the work. One continuing concern is that the "Low VOC" paint was apparently "High VOC". There are still fumes coming from the paint in the kitchen, and I haven't been able to put any food back in the cupboard without it getting ruined by paint fumes. It is slowly fading away, but do ask for the "Zero VOC" paint if you can. So not perfect but still pretty good. read more

They were great! Communicative and worked well with our schedule as we had several projects going on at the same time. the guys came out early to power wash, then over the next couple of days did excellent work painting our limestone. It looks excellent. read more

Job well done and responsive. Good communication throughout project. Will use again for other projects.

They were great! Extremely professional and fast. They were repairing sheet rock on an exterior ceiling that had to be replaced due to water damage. Our shower was leaking and will have to be rebuilt entirely, and to do so we had to open up the ceiling below to remove the water damage and deal with the pipes. The professionals from "That 1 Painter" replaced and finished that ceiling. They did such an amazing job that when the professional doing our shower tile came by after he asked when they were going to open up the ceiling, because the job was so seamless he couldn't tell that it had been opened up and repaired already. read more

Loved the excellent job done by Alan and Alonso. They did a perfect paint job on my 4 bed 4 bath house within a week along with trims, doors and cabinets. They even helped me fix some minor damage caused by the moving company while moving furniture around. Would highly recommend Alan's crew for any paint job - Interior or Exterior. read more

We were very pleased with the job That 1 Painter did on the interior of our house!! Allan initially came to give us an estimate and was very helpful, giving us ideas and suggestions and answering all of our questions. They painted the walls, ceiling, trim and doors throughout the whole house in just 5 days and it looks amazing! The project manager, Michael, kept in touch with us throughout the whole process. The painters were very friendly, they cleaned up and moved furniture back when they were done with the job, and even swept our front porch before they left! Wow! We were so happy with the job that we have scheduled them to paint our kitchen cabinets in a couple months! read more

The estimate was not the cheapest, but they took care of a number of small repairs, before they started painting my house exterior with a very high quality of paint. Work was done promptly, and the attention to detail was amazing. Each day the lead painter checked in with me to ensure that I was pleased with the work accomplished so far. It has been a week since the painting was done and 3 neighbors have already made a point of letting me know how great the house looks. Every time I drive up I'm pleased by the way the house looks. read more

Excellent service and work. Quote was a hair more than others but in hindsight it was totally worth it because of the ease of appointment setup, access to a project manager in case of issues, very clean and detailed work (drywall and tape replacement). read more

My choice couldn't of been better when I decided to go with That 1 Painter to paint my kitchen cabinets. I was very nervous about making the move to paint my cabinets white. That 1 Painter was very patient with me, explaining each step in the process, as we were going through it. I needed a little bit reassurance and they were there to give it along the way. I remember thinking that their business ran like a very well oiled machine. Each person went above and beyond making sure that their part was done well. It definitely showed in the final product! I was in love with my kitchen cabinets and quickly hired That 1 Painter again to do a couple of sheetrock jobs and to paint my kitchen. Once again, I was very pleased with the final result. I should also mention that their pricing is very fair. I don't feel like you can go wrong hiring That 1 Painter. read more

I had a really good experience with That1Painter, especially when compared to some other "handyman" services in Austin that claim to handle interior painting and drywall repair. They were *always* on time, which is a shocking rarity! Really happy with the way the paint turned out, I had my entire house done (walls, trim, doors, & ceilings). I'd never had my complete home painted before, my only tip for others is to ensure you have someplace else to stay while the work is being done, there really isn't anywhere to hide when everything is being painted, lol. I tried to do some interior painting myself before hiring them, and it took me almost 2 weeks to (poorly) finish a single room, and they got a ~1000 sq ft house done in a few days with just a couple of guys. Really detail oriented, I think a lot of that time was spent prepping the space, and it shows! They got everything behind heavy furniture & appliances, too. I'd recommend them to anyone who asks! read more

My husband and I got four quotes to have our drywall and painting done, and That 1 Painter's quote was around half of what the other folks were trying to charge. It was such a low quote that I was a little nervous that we'd be sacrificing quality, but they did a fabulous job! In 24 hours they patched my drywall, and painted the wall/ceiling/trim of three rooms. They were fast, communicative and thorough. We had put off getting our house painted for so long, but I didn't realize what a fast, easy and affordable experience it would be. I highly recommend That 1 Painter! We will certainly use them again for the rest of our house. read more

Steven and his teams were amazing. My wife has always been the one who loves to paint, but buying a new house and we wanted to add some color, do an accent wall, and paint a kitchen island, I thought would be to much with our busy schedules. I had Steven do a virtual quote for me. Unbelievable response time, thoroughness, and suggestions on paint types for each application. His team showed up on time and got straight to work. We even have them add the trim to the job once we looked at it closer, it had started to turn yellow. They were able to complete the whole job in 4 days for a 2800 sq ft house. My wife and I were blown away at the job they did. I've already had a few people see the work and they wanted Steven's number. Great job to his whole crew!! read more

I bought a 1984 duplex (both sides) and needed to do a few renovations on Side A. I met with Allan, who managed the project. First and foremost, the popcorn ceilings had to be removed. I knew it would not be easy since the popcorn had been painted (actually removing popcorn ceilings is never easy!). That 1 Painter did fantastic job of popcorn removal, fixing the inevitable small repairs, adding a light orange peel texture, and painting. They did have to replace a small piece of ceiling drywall due to unexpected termite damage. It was such a seamless repair. Also, they did a great job of painting the walls. The price for the job was quite competitive. Oh, and their clean up afterwards made the place move-in ready. I called these guys based on the quality of their Yelp reviews. Had to come back and leave a 5 star review! read more

Yelenia helped answer questions and guided me throughout the process. I would use them again and definitely recommend them.

They did a very good job. Good attention to detail and very friendly staff. Their quote was very decent as well. I removed one star, because they were a bit sporadic. They worked for many days, then stopped for several days and started again, thus dragging the process for a bit too long. Still, I would use them again. read more
