Alan and Michael were great to work with. They did a great job painting the walls inside our 3 bed 2 bathroom house. They showed up on time every day and also completed work when they said they would. I highly recommend them! read more

Be very careful . . . I very rarely take the time to write a bad review and would much rather write a glowing review of good service I've received. However, I rate this company with ZERO STARS, not because my paint results were bad but rather, because the company's owner, in my opinion, lacks business ethics. I solicited the services of a painter through Yelp and four companies or individuals responded. I sent out a description of the job along with photos, which involved painting a 3" steel channel underneath my balcony, about a total of 18' long, around three sides, and noted that the job probably would not take longer than 1.5 - 2.0 hours at the most. I selected That1Painter based on very high reviews and they sent an 'estimate' for $300. It sounded high but I know contractors will often estimate high because sometimes it's impossible to know for sure what they're getting into until they begin a job. Besides it was an estimate, or so I thought. The company sent a painter, Pepé, who did what looks like a good job. He prepped and painted the first coat in about an hour and told me was going to lunch and would be back to paint the second coat. When he came back from lunch he was finished in less than 30 minutes. But the final invoice was for $300, which equals $200 an hour for a painter! I also supplied the paint. When I inquired about the final bill they said they would talk with the owner about my objections regarding the cost being so high for 1.5 hours of work. I later received a message that the 'estimate' sent to me for $300 was the MINIMUM charge, which included drive time, fuel, and overhead! This information was not disclosed in advance to me and was nowhere on the 'estimate' I received. This kind of duplicity and lack of transparency in pricing is appalling and demonstrates a clear lack of business ethics. Who pays a painter $200 an hour? Apparently I do, because I paid the bill but I wanted to warn you about this practice, in my opinion, of ripping off customers by not being honest about their pricing upfront. Because painters don't need a license to operate in Texas (except a business registration) they can do things like this and get away with it for a long time. Then close down the business and open another with a different name and start it all over again. It's difficult to believe that any company would risk their reputation over a few hundred dollars but it seems this company did exactly that. Be very careful if you decide to deal with That1Painter! read more

Great team to work with. Would be using them again in future. I wanted a professional who would be able to provide a reasonable price and they were able to work with me and tailor towards what I needed. The painter did a very great job. Cleaned up after and home was looking great. I am pleased with the outcome. Also commend them in how quickly there were able to turn around. read more

Save your money, stress and time and DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They started a job that was meant to take 2 days, we are now on day 5 and no one is calling us back. Cabinets are in the garage, nails and screws left lying around and paper and tape all over my 3 bathrooms. We have spoken to 4 different people who keep blaming one another with no resolution and no contact from management. The wrong paint was used and it peeling even after confirming the type of paint with the project coordinator who promptly switched off her phone when we were trying to reach her. The cabinets are now damaged with dents and dings and just painted over, our marble tops were painted on. I am in absolute shock, STAY AWAY. read more

We were moving into a house with popcorn ceilings and realized this was the best time to get rid of them. We were moved in but barely unpacked. We talked with them about doing one floor at a time with us swapping floors in-between. Maybe a hotel would have been better; unsure. The main issue we had was communication between the project manager, the crew, and us. Sometimes the manager knew stuff that didn't get to the crew while at other times he said things and the crew told us something different (and more accurate). One time, we weren't warned with much notice that it was going to be a high fumes day and we probably wanted to be out of the house. There were some areas that weren't textured well, messed up paint, etc. We pointed them out during the walk through and they got taken care of. Don't forget to have a very critical eye or else you might regret it. read more

Wishing I could agree with most of the other recommendations, but follow through lacked. Guessing we had the same project manager as Jose N. Took multiple months of calls, leaving messages and texts before contacted. When I finally was contacted regarding warranty questions, was told we'd get scheduled for the follow up work. Instead, we were ghosted. If they weren't going to do it, don't lie. No returned calls, no messages, no response. Had been initially fairly pleased with the work crews, but not honoring your word makes me question the integrity in the long term. read more

I hired That 1 Painter to install baseboards in my condo for $2,500. You can see the quality of work in the pictures. When I complained, they said this is how they do work and this is how things are done in Texas. The entire thing has to be redone. read more

It started out well as they were quick to respond to giving us a quote, but once the actual work started and we had quality issues they would not answer the phone or return messages. And, they did a bait and switch with the paint. We requested Sherwin Williams paint and that is what they quoted in writing but then bought the cheapest Behr paint without consulting us and did not adjust the cost to reflect that. We had to closely watch each step of the way or they got lazy and missed entire areas to paint, didn't cover things so we had to scrape paint off cabinets and windows, didn't remove curtains and light fixtures or put them back up until we caught the mistakes. The communication from the estimator to the actual painting crew was not good and once we hired them the communication with us was minimal. I would not recommend this company read more

Their crew did a fantastic job! They were flexible when some of our other contractors got delayed and showed up on time and ready to work every day. We shopped around for quotes and they were very fairly priced. They painted our kitchen cabinets, mantel, ceiling, and some other miscellaneous walls. They did a fantastic job on the cabinets and repairing cracks in our ceiling. We would definitely use them again for any other painting needs, highly recommend! read more

That 1 Painter did such an awesome job from start to finish! Their price was extremely reasonable, and they way above and beyond just painting/limewashing the exterior of my house. They power washed everything, including my driveway, took down my gutters to replace the rotting wood underneath, painted my gutters, AND ended up redoing the limewash completely because I was super happy with the initial result. I can't say enough good things about this company and the crew! Joseph was super communicative, and put me at ease when I didn't love the originally limewash look, and Juan and his crew were so courteous and thorough with the actual work. Not to mention, they were meticulous in the cleanup! They literally put my chairs and planters back exactly how they were positioned when painting started. I highly recommend using this company for your painting needs!!! read more

This is second time we have used them for exterior painting, and this time was even more impressive than the last. They were prompt, detailed, and communicative. High recommend for when the job needs to be done exactly right. read more

That1Painter was not the lowest cost bid. They demonstrated up front value by offering top shelf paint at mid-shelf cost. This drove us to select them to paint our complete home exterior. Delivering the service far exceeded our expectations. Daniel (crew lead) ensured we were kept informed and provided additional services (painting window frames and exhaust pipes in the roof) without adding cost. The most impressive point was that they completed the 3 day job in only 1 day. I will certainly give our job to paint the interior of our home to them when are ready. read more

Easy to work with. Had our deck and fence painted/stained. Good communication and, when they couldn't find the appropriate materials, they reached out to let us know the new plan. They power washed our fence and deck and then painted which took a total of about ~2 work days. They called/texted often to keep us up to date. There's a 3-year warranty on the job which I'm excited about since the initial paint/stain on the deck was already fading away. Looking forward to seeing how things look after a while. I would use them again. read more

I'm back again. My last review for That 1 Painter was in 2018. Last week they came out and painted the entire exterior of our home as well as the inside and outside of all exterior doors. This is the 6th project or so that I have used That 1 Painter and they have never let me down. Their painters are highly-skilled, but also friendly and accommodating. When the color just wasn't what we were hoping, they painted that part again. They are a professional, no-hassle kind of business. Allan set us up for success with the initial estimate. Federico and his brother knocked out the work, and Kea met with us along the way to be sure everything went smoothly. I don't call anyone else when I need a painter. Highly recommended! Again. read more

HIRE THIS COMPANY! Steven was able to come over the same day that we called him to give an estimate on our large project. We were so impressed with his quote, that we hired him on the spot. We were on a deadline because our furniture was scheduled to arrive the following week, so he moved some things around and got his team started just a few short days after we hired them. The painters were efficient, polite, and did a fantastic job! We even asked if they could paint the kitchen cabinets at the last minute and they were able to get everything completed before our furniture arrived! We have a few other painting projects that we will need to do in the future and I will absolutely be hiring That1Painter again!!! read more

The end product I got from That 1 Painter is a 5 star result. It took a bit to get there, but I'm not faulting That 1 Painter as a company. I had some drywall cracks to be repaired, and the first guy they sent out didn't do a great job - the first time he came out nor the second. Some companies might have left it like that and taken the 1 star review I would have given them. But Allan sent Jose out, and he absolutely killed it. He matched a really difficult ceiling texture in the process. I'm very happy with the result, and would absolutely use them again. I don't know that they'd take me as a customer though hahaha. read more

During the winter freeze, we had a pipe burst in our garage. ServPro had to tear down the drywall and a plumber came an fixed the pipe. We decided to wait to get the drywall repaired since we wanted to remodel the garage. We put our project in Yelp for contractors to respond. That 1 Painter responded quickly. They sent and estimator to give us a free bid. We did some due diligence and got other bids. However, we decided on That 1 Painter and we are soo happy we did. Not only was their bid better but Edwin and his team did an amazing job fixing the drywall, insulating (since we discovered there was none prior) and also painting our garage. The guys were meticulous, accommodating and very professional. We would definitely recommend them and will reach out for future projects. read more

We called them out for a big job. They were very responsive and had the general manager out a few days later to give us an estimate. The price was fair so we booked with them. The process went very smoothly. Enrique and Luis did a great job and were very attentive to the details. My only complaint was that it was very hard to get back on the calendar for the 2nd half of the job once we paid in full. I had to call back in a a "new" customer in order to get the ball rolling. But other than that, we were pleased and we would use them again. read more

If you're looking for a reliable painting company that is on time, does high quality work showing attention to detail, cleans up after the work, communicates responsively, and has a great attitude throughout the project, I would highly recommend That1Painter. Our project coordinator was Karen V. and the the Service Manager was Peter M. Ours was not a big project, but Peter made at least 3 separate visits to our home and was always responsive to phone calls. Peter and Karen's goal, as well as the guys doing the painting (Adrian and Luis in our case) is clearly customer satisfaction. Definitely would hire them all again! read more

The entire process working with That1Painter was amazing. I originally contacted Allan in early 2021 to have my house repainted. He walked me through all the options of paint style, limewash vs. masonry flat, carpentry repairs, etc... and gave me a competitive quote. I booked them for the next month, but delays on my end meant we couldn't start until the summer - when we were out of town. Talk about a nervous homeowner, imagine painting your house while you are across the country! Kea was our project manager and went above and beyond sending us many photos of the house and progress, quickly responding to emails and texts, so we felt very comfortable with their work. They did a great job on the initial painting, and were very responsive to our punch list when we returned and asked for a few changes and additional items - such as painting the garage door. We did not get a chance to meet the original paint crew, but our touch-up guy was Jesse and he was great to work with. His work is exact and he was more than willing to go the extra mile to make the job perfect. We could not be happier with the work and how our new house looks, it really is night and day. I highly recommend this company! read more

I hired That 1 Painter to paint my entire kitchen, cabinets, and paint over my bathroom wallpaper. They did an AMAZING job with my request, and managed to match the bathroom wall texture to the rest of the house. They weren't the cheapest option, but it was absolutely worth the cost seeing the results of 2 days of prep on the walls & cabinets. I just bought a 1961 tract house with minimal charm that hasn't been changed much since it was built. It still had original wallpaper in the bathroom, and someone attempted a (bad) paint job previously on the cabinets. Someday I'll be able to afford a full remodel (or a bigger house, lol) but it's amazing how much of a difference just new paint & new appliances made! read more

That 1 Painter was great to work with. Steven showed up on time for the consultation and the pricing was very competitive. After we scheduled the date and told him the color we wanted, they took care of the rest. We were able to move the appointment up due to a cancellation, which was great. I was at work while the paint crew painted the exterior or my house, but the finished product looks fantastic and they were very clean. Other than the color of the house, you wouldn't have even known they'd been there. Overall I highly recommend That 1 Painter. read more

I got a quote back from Steven within a couple hours, and he was able to do the job within a week. He was helpful, courteous, and knowledgeable. We needed our master bedroom painted, baseboards and crown molding installed, and our new front door needed painting on the inside. His crew was able to knock out all of this in a quick day, and at a fair price. His crew reflected the same qualities as Steven, the owner - they were very polite and open to any feedback or instructions. I had asked them to take down the blinds and keep them down since we would be putting up new ones. Of course, it was not a problem and they were happy to help.
