After I signed the proposal and paid a deposit, things went downhill fast…read more The written proposal clearly stated two coats (stain + sealant). But when the crew arrived, they said they would only apply one coat using a 2-in-1 product. That's a big reduction in both labor and materials, so I asked for a revised price. I was told the owner wrote the proposal incorrectly -- but the price would stay the same. No call from the owner to explain. The crew just left, and I had to chase them down myself to get my deposit refunded. Felt like a classic bait-and-switch. Buyer beware.

We got quotes from three different vendors, and Joe's was the most competitive. But beyond price, what really stood out to my husband and me was Joe's calm, trustworthy demeanor. We immediately felt like we were in good hands. Joe also had great design instincts throughout the project, and his wife, Tina, was helpful in guiding us to the perfect color choice. Even during the messy popcorn ceiling removal, their team left the house spotless each day, even though we weren't living there at the time. They treated the space with so much care and respect. We were so happy with their work that we kept adding new items to the scope. These were things we had originally planned to do later. Each time, Joe gave us a clear, fair quote and made sure we were aligned before moving forward. Despite all the changes, they still delivered everything on time and with such high quality. The staircase especially turned out beautifully and the credit for that goes entirely to Joe! Thank you again, and we're already looking forward to working with you all again in the future!

The overall experience was fantastic and believe the cost was very reasonable given the quality of work and attention to detail. The owner reached out personally to walk me through the process, timelines, and what to expect. They also have a good system in place for text/email updates which I find very helpful. They showed up on time (actually a bit early which I appreciate) and got everything knocked out. They took the extra care and time to walk me through the final product and ensure 100% satisfaction. They did a phenomenal job and there were no missed areas. They also took the time to prep the areas really well and protected my pool which was greatly appreciated. Overall, would 100% recommend as they take a lot of pride in being local and providing high-quality work for a good/fair price. There is a reason "integrity" is built into the name of the business.

I am thrilled that we chose DGP Painting for our interior house painting and wallpaper install!…read moreThis was my first time requesting an interior paint project, and I knew they were the right company for the job when the project manager (Stephen - who worked on our quote) saw around corners and asked questions I hadn't thought of myself. The job took about 5 days, and Armando, the painter, knocked it out of the park with the quality of work done, which included drywall/baseboard repair, corner guard removal, paint and a wallpaper install. All was done exactly as we requested, all of our items and floors were covered securely, and they left the house very clean upon job completion. We WILL be calling DGP again when we're ready to paint our upstairs walls! Thank you DGP, Armando, Stephen, and Eddie for your support on our project!

My experience with DGP painters was extremely frustrating and disappointing. They prolonged this…read moreproject significantly because they were not putting in the required time or manpower. They had 19 days to paint 4,000 square feet without interruption but could not get it done. In the end, it took 26 days and they caused me significant unnecessary stress, and left problems that I will have to pay someone else to fix. However, I would rather pay someone else than allow them back into my house. In fact, I believe that they lied by telling me multiple times that they were working towards making various deadlines, then making almost no effort to meet those deadlines and not acknowledging their passing. They consistently blamed whomever they could for their lack of progress, even when they had ample opportunities to complete their work without interruption from others. They did not take accountability at any point. When we have discussed delays, Stephen and Archie frequently cite interruption from the other contractors. Other than a mold remediator, whose work could not be paused due to safety issues, I did not allow the other contractors into the house until 19 days after the start of the project, which was far after both their initial and subsequent estimates for when they would be done. Similarly, I have repeatedly communicated to Archie and Stephen that I did not expect them to complete the work in the areas that have been quarantined by mold remediation before our move-in date. That means that I was expecting them to paint less of the house than we initially had talked about, which should have taken them less time. I also communicated with Stephen about when I have intended to have the other contractors start ahead of time. I have visited the job site nearly every day since before the start of the project, sometimes multiple times a day because it is close to my work. I have seen what areas have progressed and what areas have not. I have communicated with my contractors frequently. At no point has DGP taken responsibility for the delays. DGP has been incredibly frustrating to work with. I have tried to be patient and polite, but they have made that extremely challenging. I hope that sharing my experience can help others avoid DGP painters. I have outlined our conversations in a google doc to explain why I have drawn these conclusions because my initial review significantly exceeded the character count for Yelp. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1YBXpGzUrLDE9EKrultvriv-hMcBffOqt2YF_F41A60I/edit?usp=sharing

Austin's Paint Guys, on the other hand, were clean and tidy throughout their process and made sure everything was up to our expectations. I look forward to hiring them again when we get around to working on the garage. Their work is top-notch to say the least and if you're in the market for services they provide, look no further.

They left a lot of trash behind on several occasions. They put paper over our sub zero refrigerator vent and left it there overnight almost breaking the refrigerator. But the most frustrating thing is that we made the mistake of paying them before the job was completed. We found some areas missed and asked Carlos that they return and he agreed but subsequently didn't show up and stopped answering our calls and texts. After a $10K job we were very upset that Longhorn Painting left us high and dry on finishing the job "right" because they had our $ in their pocket. And we are not talking about a lot of follow-up work. Just a few hours of touch-up.

Chad from Tomberlin Painting and Remodeling is what makes the business five stars he takes a…read morepersonal interest in making sure you are getting what you pay for and will go the extra mile to make it happen. After calling around I pretty much came to the conclusion that no matter what I tell myself you get what you pay for . I had various prices from ridiculously high to suspiciously low and torn between saving money and still getting someone who wouldn't ruin my investment. That's when I found Chad from Tomberlin, he was competitively priced had tons of proof of great work online and was ready to help me out even though he was busy with bigger projects . Chad is a genuine person from the moment he came over after we spoke I knew this was going to end well . He knows what he is doing and isn't afraid to dive rite in and do work himself if his employees are busy on other job sites . Chad even allowed me to pick my own tile and didn't pressure me to specifically buy from him like some other companies do . He met me at Lowe's where I found my tile for a lower price than it usually was and explained what materials I would need never trying to upsell anything at any point . When I got my backsplash installed the process was rather smooth, Chad and his employees made sure to keep the space clean which goes a long way with me . Everyone he brought over was extremely respectful and always wore a mask no matter how long the work took . The project did take a couple days to fully complete but was worthwhile and I would do it all over again because Chad is such a pleasant person to do business with . There was a small gap and empty spot in my paint from a previous company that installed my countertops Chad fixed it rite up along with the backsplash install just because he didn't like the way it would look in the end even though he didn't have to . Chad goes the extra mile for sure . He cares about the actual end results and frequently checks in on his crew. Many of my previous experiences with lessor companies gave me a bad taste so to speak as they only cared about getting payed and never made sure their crew actually did what they where supposed to . So when I experienced how Tomberlin does work it brought some trust back to my home improvement experience . I highly recommend Tomberlin Painting and Remodeling to the utmost degree of satisfaction for your home improvement needs . They will be my go to from now on . (One quick note, always have patience with anyone you hire they are people with feelings and deserve your respect . Never order anyone around but ask politely for anything you might need to change or want , YES even in your one home . You will always feel better and get better results no matter who you pick to do your work . Thank you .)
