We worked with Steven on two paint jobs. First time he did the exterior of our house. His quote was better than anyone else. He patiently answered all of our questions. His team had great attention to detail and they fixed the damadged wood of the chimney as well. The second time he came to our rescue when our house was flooded and our baseboards as well as some of the dry walls were ruined. He went out of his way to find matching baseboards which were original to the house (from 1995). His crew finished the work very quickly and efficiently while we lived inside the house. They did 4 rooms and hallways as well as a lot of the closets including 2 bathrooms. He stayed precisely within his initial quote for both jobs with no last minute surprises. We were very pleased and would greatly recommend him. read more

I'm very picky about who I choose to work on my house and Steven and his team were excellent. He painted inside rooms and the exterior of the house. He fixed the drywall inside and replaced rotted boards on the outside. He even spray washed my patio since he was spray washing the house before he began painting. He is very knowledgeable on the newest high tech paint options and can advise on eco paints as well. I would highly suggest you text him for a quote or questions rather than call or email. Certainly you can do both. He is working all the time and can respond quicker if he does not have to stop too long in the middle of a job. The prices are extremely good and he was originally referred to me by one to the top wood flooring guys in town. He seems to stay booked just with word-of-mouth referrals. I talked to his team member painting the outside of our house and he totally adores working for Steven. Addressing the review below from Anna G. It's worth being patient with him to initially respond and get quotes for jobs. He is a small company and is in demand. He does not have a smooth talking sales person to answer the phone and churn out business. Steven is very professional, has a calm, laid-back vibe and is very focused on what he is doing. He was faster than I expected to get everything completed. It's all about getting the work done and trying to accommodate his demand and business growth. read more

Steven painted our apartment when we were moving from there into our house. In my experience, apartment complexes will always try to find some little issue to catch you on so they don't need to refund your deposit, but Steven and his team did a great job, and they didn't have any issues. He was really easy to work with too given that we had to find a very specific type of paint to match the rest of the complex. He was quick and efficient and we were really happy with the results. I had an excellent experience with Steven, and I would recommend him to a friend! read more

We are very pleased with the work done to the outside of our home. Fast, efficient, easy to work with, and very professional. Stephen the owner is very honest and willing to do whatever it takes to make a customer happy. I'm really impressed by his integrity and customer service. We will definitely use them for future projects after this experience. read more

That 1 Painter - The top is the before and the bottom is the after. 5 stars! - Painters Near Me - Austin, Texas

I had a bit of trouble finding a painter willing to take on my smaller bedroom project. I only needed the walls painted, and when I was looking for quotes, people either ignored me altogether, or wanted to charge more for their time. Steven offered a fair price via email after I told about the project, gave me a date, and stuck with it. He showed up early, and painted the entire room in just three hours. I was absolutely floored at how quickly he did it, and the paint job looks amazing. He also patched small holes that I had from curtain rods. All in all, this was money very well spent! Steven is a nice guy, does great work, and there was no hassle involved. I'd definitely use his services again. read more

FABULOUS! -- the saying, "You get what you pay for" is not accurate for this company - You get so much MORE - exceptional, conscientious care and service.  Top drawer all the way.   I have an entirely new home delivered with conscientious attention to detail. My personal project manager, German Hernandez, "reported for duty" numerous times to insure my happiness, the professional painters innately checked all the boxes.  I wish I had more properties to elevate! read more

I contacted Steven about updating our roughly 7-yr-old paint job. I also wanted to paint the shutters. He walked around, explained to me about boards that needed replacing, and told me some of the types of paints I could choose from -- which ones last longer, et cetera. He promised to get back to me with a quote and sure enough, I had one in my inbox in two days. My husband ended up surprising me and having it painted when we were out of town so it was awesome to come home to. Our neighbors told me they worked like dogs in the August heat but the paint adhered so well you'd never know the pain it probably took to get it there. Now we want to paint the front door, and Steven will be the guy we'll call. read more

That 1 Painter - Painting the front door blue after painting the exterior yellow - Painters Near Me - Austin, Texas

Steven and team did an amazing job painting the outside of our house. I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. Over the course of four days, they transformed it from a sad shade of brown to a lovely light blue color. I got quotes from four different painters around Austin and his was the lowest, as well. I'm very pleased! read more

Steven and his crew recently painted our two story house. I was initially impressed that he could come out, take a walk around and give us a firm quote. And I was pleasantly surprised at the price. They got us scheduled quickly and showed up on time. I was the most impressed with all the prep work that they did. Experts have told me in the past that the prep work is the most important thing to make your paint last a long time. Steven used high quality paint and did not up-charge the paint (unheard of in this industry). We reviewed the work with a fine toothed comb and were very pleased with the job that was done. We've needed to do this for many years and I'm glad it's done and that we chose Steven with That1Painter. read more

I had several large rooms painted and was thrilled with the result. The team prepared very well, used quality paint and did quite a bit of drywall repair. I also had not noticed an area that they treated for moisture retention due to a previous remodel. The team were so hard-working and made a huge job done quickly and beautifully. They arrived on time and did a fantastic job cleaning up. read more

Man....couldn't be happier with the painting that Steven and his crew to our interior. It wasn't just the well-done, professional looking, interior paint job that we were impressed with, but the "little things" as well, that we really appreciated. We were needing a re-painting job of the walls and the trim, in a house we had already moved into. Needless to say, our stuff was strewn throughout the house. My wife also works from home, occasionally. Steven's crew was not only on time, every morning, but they worked hard - a long, full day. They were also very respectful of our things, moving and replacing our belongings. They were quiet and polite. Lastly, they went the extra mile, and re-skimmed walls they thought needed to look better than they were. They care about what they do. Oh...and I bidded out the project to several painters. Their prices were reasonable. I'll be using them as much as I can. read more

From the Yelp app, I emailed That 1 Painter asking for an estimate. I received a reply within the hour. I sent a photo of the area needing repair, a whole in a wall cut by plumbers, and the estimate came back quickly, too. The paint crew arrived on time on the appointed day, worked quickly, did a good job, and cleaned up after itself. Good service and work. read more

Professional. Good value. Asked questions to confirm they understood what I wanted. Cleaned up before leaving the job site.

We have now used That1Painter twice. Both times we were pleased with the overall responsiveness of all staff and the resulting work product. I asked many questions during the bid process and received complete and timely answers. The project managers were good about checking in so I could ask questions as they arose. We would definitely use them again. Also, love the warranty on the paint! read more

Steven and his crew were really great to work with. They were able to paint our entire house within a very narrow window of time and accommodated all of my requests without complaint. Looking back I realize I should have done a few things differently - given them more time for one thing. I pushed them to paint a 4,100 sq ft house in three days including two sets of cabinets. A *little* ambitious. A few things were missed, but Steven came out twice to touch up and take care of those places. Overall I'm happy and fully expect to use them again on future projects! read more

Unreal!!! Let me tell you about our home. We decided to buy a preowned home instead of building so house wasn't up to our specific tastes. My wife researched and fell in love with the Texas Farmhouse look. I went through and vetted half a dozen companies and couldn't find anyone to meet our wants/ needs. That was until I came across "That 1 Painter". I was introduced to Allen who would get things off the ground and provided the estimate and answered all preliminary questions. He appointed Michael as our project manager and this is where the fun began. Michael went through the entire house with me and covered every single detail. I asked a ton of questions and he answered them all thoughtfully and with care. He even educated us on best colors for house trims as well as what limewash will do for our brick. He did everything and I mean everything he said he was going to do. He communicated with me constantly and I never felt neglected by him. He used painters Enrique and Luis to over see the actual applications of the paints and limewash. These guys are incredible. No mistakes. They paid attention to every detail. I like to randomly surprise companies doing work on my house to make sure job is being done diligently. Anytime I came home work was being done with intensity. No laziness no sloppiness. Always yes sir no sir even if I addressed them by first name. My wife went through and wanted more distressing in brick and they happily did it. I mean these guys love what they do and it truly shows. When it's your home you want the best and these guys deliver. We truly love our home and even have people want to take pictures in front of it lol. If you need a painter who provides quality then look no further. This is it. Please see my before and after pictures. Thanks for reading my review! read more

Prompt. Professional. Attentive. Great quality. I would recommend That1Painter to everyone.

Wow these guys are awesome! They removed all the popcorn ceiling in our house, textured and painted the ceilings and they look great! They also textured and painted 3 bathrooms, painted the kitchen and bathroom cabinets and put a really nice stain on our stair railing. Couldn't be happier with the service and they always made sure I was happy with everything before they finished. Very reasonable too! With all the work they did and made sure not to damage anything like my nice wood floors in the process, I would highly recommend you to give them a shot you won't be disappointed! read more

I hired That 1 Painter based on the reviews and a personal recommendation. Had them epoxy our garage floor and paint our lame concrete patio. Wow! The results were amazing! I'll use That 1 Painter again and will recommend to others! read more

We had 5 holes in our drywall from plumbing work that needed to repair. That1Painter was super responsive and had great pricing. They did the work quickly and it looks brand new. Would highly recommend them to others. read more

This company ruined the house I was renovating with a subpar paint job. This was an entire house interior paint job. I faced intimidation and threatening tactics when I posted a review initially. False claims were publicly posted about the type of customer I was and the interactions I had with this company. My photos show the damage and lack of quality painting I was promised. I was harassed me per text, email, and phone to persuade me to not post a review. A then property manager and Mr. Montgomery engaged in a near fight on the property as witnessed by neighbors. This company is "dirty" when you expect quality and you get upset that the opposite is what they offered. I paid zero for the labor on this job, after stonewalling their bully tactics. I did however pay for and supply all the paint for job, so I was out a lot of money with paint costs and damage repair. The headache and back and forth, threats, and to be left with a mess of a house was an ordeal no one should have to face simply when trying to hire a painter. I believe this is why more bad reviews are not posted- their threatening approach to dissatisfied customers often works. The pics speak for themselves and it was devastating to have this level of damage caused to a home. read more

Steven and his crew did an excellent job painting the the interior and exterior of the addition we just built, as well as repairing the exterior of our existing house. Terrific Job, initial focus on taping and preparation in the work areas. Appropriate number of coats applied to ensure proper and consistent coverage. Painters were friendly and courteous. Just what you want in a repair. Steven and his crew were, courteous, on time, communicated and did an amazing job. The crew was respectful to my home- covering everything carefully with plastic, cleaned up when they finished. I could not be more pleased in the work. I was so excited to have Steve and his crew come paint one of our rental properties after we found our former tenant had smoked in the property. However, I was really disappointed in the job they did. Everything I was told was included in prep was indeed NOT done (sanding base boards, removing wall paper boarder, etc.), the tar was still coming through the paint (even though they said the did 2 coats + oil based primer), there was tape still on doorknobs, and trash/extension cords left in the rooms. Plus, none of the wood cabinets were prepped to be painted, just painted so the wood grain holes showed through. When I did bring the quality into question and they came to do another coat on which covered up the tar, which was a good thing, but there was still tick layers of paint on the floors that we had to scrape up, their paint cans + trash out at our curb (which the city will NOT pick up), and we found cobwebs painted among other trash stuck to the floors. So, I don't recommend them. But if you do decide to go with them, make sure you get EVERYTHING in writing as to what is included in each stage. The supervisor said they didn't do any prep (like sanding or removing the paper boarder) because it wasn't in the work order. Not my problem except the owner was out of town and could not set anyone straight. Not happy. read more

Came out next day and gave me a fair quote, then really went above and beyond expectations. They removed just about every fixture and cut in around my wood trim just about perfectly. Would highly recommend. read more

They did a great job on my kitchen cabinets and the cost was hundreds less than what other places quoted me. I'm happy!

I asked for bids from several companies to paint the entire interior of my house in the Bouldin Creek neighborhood. Steven's bed was the lowest, and his.guys did a great job. Had my pool deck repainted. The initial quote was in line with two other quotes I received, but I was impressed with how the estimator communicated with me so went with That1Painter. The crew prepped on one day and painted the next. They did a thorough job and did not cut corners. I am very happy with the results. read more

Thorough and conscientious workers. Personable and trustworthy. Highly recommended.

I received an email from Steven, who was referred to me by a real estate agent, just as I was almost closing on my "new" foreclosed home. He couldn't have come along at a better time as the previous owners trashed the house, including the poor walls that had what appeared as some strange brown textured substance, EVERYWHERE :-/. We were able to hire him to paint the ENTIRE interior of our two story home thanks to his very reasonable rates. He did a immaculate job and was surprisingly efficient. He arrived as scheduled and was sure to clean up when he was done. This one man team was able to complete his task in under two days! The new paint made a world of a difference and was done beautifully! To this day we have not found a single boo boo :) Thank you so much Steven, we don't know what we would have done without you!!! read more

Update: Since I clearly did not have a good experience, the owner contacted me to discuss the situation and offered me a refund for the services that were poorly done/not done. I appreciated this effort to compensate me for part of the job. I'm glad to know the owner of this company cares about customer service, and strives to make things right. read more

Five stars because it was a difficult project. I'm really happy with the result. The chimmey is about 40-50 feet high and they replaced the old siding with hardie plank, lap-sided all the way to the top, then painted to match the house's exterior color. The crew was able to work around the 2 trees already there, which I also really appreciated. The other company wanted them cut down before they would start the project. Also they took care to make sure all the seams joints were properly caulked and sealed. Good professional quality work done during all that cold weather last week. I will definitely be reaching out to them again with my next project. read more
