I sent dimensions and a site image and was able to get a quote without a site visit. Our installer was very detail oriented and discovered our wall was not completely flush, which meant that the tile at the top of the wall would be a slightly different width than the one at the bottom. We discussed different strategies for approaching this problem. The zellige we received was also highly variable in quality and color. I asked our installer to pick out the tile in the best condition since we had ordered 10-20% extras and were very happy with the results.

I will gladly recommend Enrique's Tile; will use again for future projects.

He did a fantastic job with that so I then hired him again for our kitchen remodel. Daniel handled the cabinet install, plumbing, and tile install himself. He recommended and arranged the electrician and the drywall/painter: I paid those folks directly but he clearly has great working relationships with them- everybody showed up when needed. Daniel is a dedicated craftsman- he has a terrific attention to detail. He cares to do things right and not cut corners. He always let me know when he expected to arrive each morning and left the job site as clean as could be at the end of each work day. I plan to have him back to remodel our guest bathroom. Just FYI, I'm not related to him or have any vested interest in this- he's just a great person to work with.

I mistakenly walked in one minute before their 4:00 PM closing time, so I immediately apologized and offered to come back another day. The employee assured me it was no problem and asked what I was looking for. After showing him the specific trim and a picture of my design mock-up along with the tile I am using, he questioned my choice and gave me his unsolicited opinion that I should use wood trim instead. He then bluntly stated, "Well actually, this looks like shit and you should return the tile." I was completely shocked. I never asked for his personal design opinions, but as a woman alone in the shop with him, I did not feel comfortable confronting his rudeness. To top it off, he tried to upsell me by offering to have his crew install a piece of stone instead. I left feeling deeply uncomfortable and completely disrespectfully treated. Unless you want an employee unsolicitedly criticizing your project and pushing their own preferences onto you, I strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere.

Our contractor recommended that we visit this showroom for our countertops. We arrived and were immediately greeted and handed off to a saleswoman who had no interest in helping us at all. She immediately sized us up by asking what size counter we were looking for, what material, and did we have a contractor. When it was determined we only needed a half slab for our project, she flatly told us they only sold full slabs and the most effort she exerted into our entire interaction was to show us colors on a website. Since we made the trip, we decided to have a look around and five stars for their show room which is expansive and has everything displayed orderly to help you make sense of it all. Upon perusing their countertop warehouse, we stumbled upon racks and racks of what do you know...remnants they sell! Even though the showroom is great, we won't be returning unless it's so we can say to this woman, "You made a big mistake, lady. BIG."

I purchased tiles for our floors and walls, schluter, and grout materials. I can't tell you how important it is to have a trusted and honest partner like Nara Tile during a remodel. In one instance, my tile order had tiles that were of a bad batch. It was not their fault but the manufacturer's fault whose printing resulted in a bad batch. Nara Tile quickly rectified the matter with the distributor and I was able to get replacements and proceed with my project. In another instance, there were tiles that were defective (eg scratches) and once again, through no fault of theirs, Nara Tile quickly worked with the distributor to rectify the matter. Remodeling is stressful in itself. Having a trusted partner like Nara Tile really helped alleviate certain aspects of the stress. Don't let their small physical presence deter you from working with them. Their customer service is outstanding and that's what matters most. I have visited many tile retailers across the Bay Area and some are larger, but their customer service was not very personable. The larger retailers' prices were sky high, borderline gouging. Nara Tile's prices are fair and reasonable; after all, they do need to make money too. I live close by to their store. Select a retailer who is close to where you live. I have had to visit their store many times to pick up or select items or consult with them. I can't imagine driving down to the South Bay had I selected another retailer.
