Gary Warren is the best contractor in the East Bay! He completely renovated our kitchen and it looks terrific. This is the third project, after renovating three bathrooms and a building a new master closet, in our condo and all three projects were five star, wonderful experiences. We are so very lucky to have found Gary S Warren. Him and his team work diligently, daily, and their work is perfect. He remodeled two bathrooms, built a new deck for us and made so many repairs in a home we just bought. We knew it needed work when we bought it. But we had no idea how we might get that work done. They took care of everything. Broken pipes, plumbing issues beneath the bathroom and in the garage and kitchen. Everything they fixed, works like its brand new. Also, when I had bought a countertop I was unhappy with, Gary drove it all the way back to Hayward to get us another one. That was above and beyond what we had really expected. Once I hang a few pictures and new towels, I will post pictures of the bathrooms. Their tile work is perfect! Also, they only do one job at a time. So you will get plenty of attention for all of the things you are looking to repair. We had several contractors in the past. Gary cost less and worked faster than any of them. Gary S. Warren is a GREAT contractor. He totally remodeled my father-in-law's 1950's home so we could make it rentable to help cover the costs of his assisted living care. Gary removed a couple of walls to open it up, remodeled the kitchen and two bathrooms, new flooring throughout, paint, ceiling fans, door hardware... the works. He beat the other bids I had by a lot, and does beautiful work. He's right in there working hard with his own crew, and stayed on schedule. He suggested dealers where I could get cabinetry, tile, Etc at very reasonable prices and including his discount. Other contractors I talked to told me that I would have to get engineering to remove the two small walls in the kitchen, and Gary is so well known and trusted by the building department in Livermore that he was able to draw it up himself and get it approved. Communication by phone and text was excellent. All the little things that you don't think of before the project starts and that come up as you go, were charged time and materials, and very reasonable. Gary did our bathroom adding shower in 9 days, averaging about 5 hrs a day. Extremely fast, even though he had to take sick days at the beginning. He and his crew really know what they are doing - to a point he might sound off like he's overconfident, but he's really that good, and he stands behind what he says and his work. Not only the bathroom was done perfectly, I also learned a lot of things from them. They were also able to reuse (resize) our existing quartz countertop and cut/shaped some pieces off to make window sill and shower shelves. Gary didn't mind sharing some advice in several design decisions, offering ideas and experience from other projects. I am very detailed oriented and they exceeded all my expectations and some more. I am glad to have met and have him work on this project. We will definitely use him for our future projects going forward. read more

We hired Gary Warren in 2011 to remodel our guest bath on the recommendation of a neighbor. We were so impressed with his high quality work and attention to detail that we hired him shortly thereafter to remodel our master bath. He not only gave us a gorgeous bathroom, he did the complete tear-out and redo in just 7 days - which is unheard of. During that remodel, our refrigerator konked out, and we couldn't find another one the same size. He rebuilt the cabinet to accommodate the new refrigerator - and you'd never know it wasn't the original cabinetry. Gary Warren Company is the best contractor we've every used! We've been remodeling our 1959 build home since we moved to Livermore in 2010. This project was a complete rip out and install of a new kitchen. Gary said he could have Everything completed in just over a week which included, complete demo, new cabinets, new plumbing for out of counter faucet, new gas line for a gas cooktop, glass tile backsplash, and a small wall extension. Not only did Gary deliver on time (which is amazing given the scope of the project), he deliver on budget. And the end result was beautiful and we couldn't be happier. Even though there were curveballs (as there are with any home project) Gary was able to use his experience and ingenuity to find a solution and make it work. Gary and his crew were flexible with changes we wanted to make and very fair with any added scope. Gary remodeled the entire interior of our house. I was researching contractors on the Rossmoor approved list, and wondered if the reviews I read about Gary Warren might be too good to be true. That definitely was not the case--I hired him to do a complete remodel of the circa 1966 kitchen, and the end result is amazing. His pricing is very fair, his crew is efficient, and I suffered less time without a kitchen than he said I would. Pretty rare to finish a job early rather than late! Gary has done so many of these kitchens that he knows how to navigate the rules, regulations, inspections, red tape, etc. He avoids scheduling problems by having a crew that does everything in house rather than relying on (and being delayed by) sub contractors. It is helpful for the client to have all their ducks in a row by making all selections and decisions prior to the start of construction, then you know you'll not be the cause of any delays. The appliances I had were all in perfect working order so I was saved from a lot of expense by Gary's willingness to remove, store, and reinstall them. I also appreciate his workmanship and attention to details--little things like lining up the screw heads in an electric receptacle, very nice. So I'm very happy to add my own 5 star review as I cook in my wonderful new kitchen! read more

We made several bids for a closet, kitchen, and dining room remodel. Not only did Gary come in the cheapest (by about $20k cheaper compared to some quotes), he also provided the shorter time frame. Gary and co have a pretty good attention to detail. The tiling for our floors, and backsplash look amazing. Gary left the job site very clean after they we're done. My family has been using Gary for our remodels for over ten years now. We have used many people in the past for projects, but have never been as satisfied with someone's workmanship as Gary's. Not only does he take extreme pride in his work, but he is prompt and very considerate about cleaning up any debris and leaving the area as he found it or better. Gary has completed several room remodels, most recently a bathroom. One of the things we really appreciate about him is his ability to advise on colors and tile themes. It's hard to pick tiles, colors and cabinets that will blend well, and Gary has a very good eye for this. One of my favorite projects he did for us was a custom office with built in cabinets and shelving...absolutely beautiful! You always hope that when you hire someone to do work on your home that they will approach it with the same care and attention to detail as if they were working on their own home...Gary is that person. read more

Gary has done a great deal of work at our house. Much of his work is excellent. But Gary is not always user-friendly. We had some issues with some of the work on a couple of our jobs. And Gary is frequently confrontational and abrasive when you approach him with issues. Our most recent job he needed to do some rework and he literally got in my face and refused. It was at that point I decided we would no longer work with him. I waited a long time rating him because he did pretty good work. But I always felt like I couldn't give him a perfect score and I knew that was very important to him. I thought it was the respectable thing to do. But this last incident was just too much. I would actually probably rate him with three star fur the last job, but he has done some good work for which we appreciate. Unfortunately both my wife and I agree we're not having come into our home again after this last challenge. Use with caution. read more

I just want to reiterate, Gary Warren Company has done 3 major jobs for me at both of my homes, and he was extremely reliable, and reasonable. He was at my home every day at 7:30 sharp and worked incessantly until the job was done. He can do pretty much anything you need done, and if he can't he will get someone who can! He worked very well with the permitting process required by Walnut Creek and Rossmoor. He stayed on-time and on-budget. Gary Warren has pride in workmanship and he stands behind his work. He is very responsive via phone. He stayed on us more than we stayed on him (which is good).
