These guys are the best. We have used them on three separate occasions; once in 1996 and twice in 2009. So what is so good about DeBernardi? 1 - Promptness - in returning phone calls, consulting appointments, and timely when coming to do work. If one of them says the brew will be on the job site at 8 am, they are there a few minutes early and get right to work. The job is finished within the estimated time. 2 - Workmanship - the guys never cut corners; if they are unhappy with their own work, they will not hesitate to do over. They guys bust their chops to satisfy the customer. 3 - Competitive - their prices are competitive in the marketplace and you get a first-class job. 4 - Courteous - every one of the crew is pleasant, polite, and everyone works cooperatively to do the best work possible to please the customer. All the guys seem to really enjoy their work and there is lots of humor and cheer during the job. If they encounter a problem, each member adds to solving the problem. The guys do not make a giant mess and do clean-up everyday. 5 - Process - From beginning to end, Brian, Jeff or one of the other members always kept us in the loop about the status of the project. We always knew what to expect and there were no surprises. I have no reservations about using DeBernardi again in any capacity for home remodeling projects. We interviewed several contractors prior to starting our major home remodeling project, adding 1200 square feet to our existing 5-year old home. Based on a recommendation from a neighbor who also used DeBernardi for a remodel and was very pleased, we interviewed Jeff. Our main concerns were price, quality of work, and the challenge of having trustworthy people working in our home for several months. Jeff and his crew exceeded all our expectations. Not only was their bid the lowest of all the contractors, the quality of the materials used for the job far exceeded industry standards. Beyond that, his crew was AWESOME. We had the same crew throughout the entire job. They always arrived on time, worked hard all day, left the place immaculate when they finished, and were completely trustworthy. I have used Jeff for over 10 years and I know three other friends that also have used Jeff very successfully. He has basically rebuilt my 30 year old house, vastly improving it with our recent re-fi appraisel indicating it was good for another 25 years. I have used Jeff for several home repair jobs in the last 15 years. He is on time for appointments. He calls back when he says he will. Those two things already distinguish him from most contractors I have encountered. He provides a detailed explanation and proposal. He is knowledgeable about what is being done, so he covers the bases in his proposal and does not end up increasing the scope of work and increasing the bill. These characteristics seem pretty basic as an expectation, but many contractors don't have the characteristics. His workers are on time, know what they are doing, clean up the job site, are respectful of a homeowner's concerns, etc. With all those good characteristics, you would think that the price would be higher than the competition, but Jeff's price quotes are usually either similar to the competition or even lower. If I ask Jeff about a particular type of work and he does not do it, he will refer me to someone reliable who can do it, and those people have always worked out for me too. I have used this company for at least 10 years ... they are simply incredible! No job is too big or too small for them to competently and effectively deal with. I have been extremely pleased with all of their work. They have replaced a redwood deck, replaced the wood siding on my house, and installed a whole house fan to name just a few. But the biggest job involved jacking up the house and digging and replacing the foundation along with a new concrete floor in the garage - and all this without cracking a window or wall! Jeff and his staff are truly amazing - they are most efficient ... but best of all ... they always kept me informed on what was coming next. We were having a baby and needed to add a room and a bathroom in short order. The crew took it upon themselves to complete the project before the baby was due. We had neighbors coming by to say they had never seen framing done so quickly! They made it very easy for us to stay in our house while the work was completed with as minimal disruption as possible. I have had other projects done and have always had to stay on top of things to make sure they were done right. Not with DeBernardi, they were so great to work with. But the main reason they get a 5...my daughter didn't realize but had dropped some money when getting out of our car in the driveway. Jeff is a great guy to do any house remodel work. He did a job for my kitchen and boy does it look good. He put new counters and cabinets and floors throughout my kitchen. when picking the cabinet colors and styles Jeff helped me though the whole process nicely. Then when he was installing the cabinets the color wasn't quite right. He discovered that the light in my kitchen was the wrong shade! Who new you can have to grey of light bulb. So to fix the problem Jeff changed the color of the light bulbs to the regular natural color. All through the process Jeff assured me that the cabinets I purchased were going to look like I wanted.
