We are the owners and designers of a nearly 4,000 square foot high-end home in Marin County for…read morewhich we recently completed new construction. We hired a general contractor and agreed to use all of their selected subcontractors except for a small subset we insisted on selecting ourselves, including Custom Stone. Custom Stone came highly recommended by multiple stone suppliers and other fabricators in the Bay Area. The scope of our stone installation was large and it was critically important that we select a fabricator who had experience with higher-end homes and highest-quality installations. Our scope included a master bathroom consisting of a double vanity, an 8' tall all-slab master shower and an undermounted roman master bathtub; a large kitchen with multiple stone surfaces including a 12' x 9' island; two guest bathrooms with marble slab vanities; a guest bathroom all-slab shower; an all-slab marble surround and hearth for a 42" fireplace; a custom designed and constructed semi-precious slab backlit bar; and an outdoor BBQ counter with Neolith. At the outset of the project, Custom Stone joined us during trips to various stone yards, advised us on the considerations of different materials, and helped us to obtain the most competitive pricing with their relationships. During the fabrication process, Custom Stone sent us multiple detailed design mock-ups and welcomed us to participate in the process. They recently invested in state-of-the-art fabrication equipment and technology that enables Contractors and Owners to see exactly what output they can expect, and to efficiently and flexibly provide input into the design and configuration decisions. For example, their new 3-D Laser measuring system and real-time digital vein-matching software allowed us to approve our slab layout before the fabrication started. Custom Stone's CNC waterjet cutting machine enabled exceptionally precise cuts on the material that we didn't find possible with other fabrication firms, allowing Custom Stone to produce the highest-quality end products for our project. Custom Stone's work is uncontestably one of the highlights of the new home and has significantly enhanced its aesthetic and value. We cannot speak highly enough of their work and the process of working with them. They worked and collaborated well with other trades/subcontractors, offered up creative solutions and demonstrated an unwavering commitment to quality. When we were selecting our stone subcontractor, we considered five (5) criteria in the following stack-ranked order: (1) precision in design and craftsmanship, and attention to detail; (2) knowledge of products/materials; (3) design skill in assembling pieces to create contiguous and less visible seams; (4) use of current technology and tools; and (5) reliable and on schedule. Custom Stone achieved the highest marks across all five criteria. We would certainly recommend and hire them again for whatever scope project we consider in the future.

While the craftsmanship and final installation were excellent, the experience was soured by how our materials were handled, and that they never finished the job. We specifically requested--clearly and in writing--that all remnants and offcuts be kept and returned to us. Despite this, they were discarded without notice. These were our materials, and this decision was made without our consent. Communication was poor and when we brought up our concerns, the response lacked accountability. If you choose to work with R&S, be very specific about expectations and follow up frequently. The quality of work is there, but respect for customer property and agreements was unfortunately not.

If you want to hear about the overall experience and level of service, then read on... I started off my search by messaging multiple people/companies about countertop fabrication and installation. Some messaged me back, some gave very minimal responses, some places had high prices, some didn't have time for all of my questions. This is the first time I've done any countertop work and I did a lot of research on many different places and scoured the Hayward/San Leandro area and beyond to look at different countertops, designs, etc. Alvaro always responded to all my messages and emails. Every single time. Sometimes my messages would be weeks apart. When I finally made my decision to go with him, it was well over a month from when I first contacted him. He stuck with me all along the way and that left an impression on me, especially in this type of business. I had a few strange questions about different options and configurations of the counters and he was always responsive with open and honest opinions and information. Once I finally picked out my material, he met me at the shop where I purchased the counter to check out the material and he helped me make sure we were getting a good piece that wasn't too warped. All of this helped reassure me that he approved of my selection and that his trained eye could notice things that I wouldn't be able to notice on my own. He picked up the slab with his truck and took it off to fabricate and cut. He showed up a few days later for the install and it was done in no time. Oh, I forgot to mention that he stopped by and did a consultation and looked everything over and provided a ton of really helpful advice and analysis of the job, how he would suggest doing it, what he wouldn't suggest etc. He also brought some samples with him for me to check out and offered a great price on countertops that he already had on hand. The entire experience is everything that you would hope for in a countertop install. I will recommend him to anyone that need any countertop work. The pricing was some of the best I could find, the work was high quality (still looking great and holding up 7 months in) and Alvaro was a pleasure to work with. Thank you very much for everything!

The crew made sure that our home was properly locked up and cleaned up after each day's work. Additionally, all the detailed finishing work was measured and completed with precision, where all the tiles placed were measured with a laser. Her goal was to ensure I would love the product even if I was just purchasing material from her. I went to her sample store to check out her products and she helped me find a few samples that could be a potential fit and I'm thrilled that we found the absolute perfect product! Her store has hardwood, lvp, laminate and carpet to choose from. I ordered lvp, carpet and carpet padding from her. Fairly fast shipping. She ensured smooth pick up from her warehouse. We just had the entire downstairs of our home tiled with 12 inch by 24 inch travertine tiles by Roberto and his assistant. They completed the entire project from demo right through tiling and new basebaord installation. They even moved our heavy furniture pieces around. They completed the project with incredible professionalism. They cleaned up at the end of each day, kept our garage neat and tidy, and were very mindful of our personal belongings. During floor prep and tiling, they kept access/egress ways clear for us so that we did not have to vacate the home. The tile itself was installed beautifully. Roberto consulted us routinely with suggestions and even laid out several patterns for us before starting to be sure we were happy with the planned tile field. They were very knowledgable about the travertine we chose and how certain locations should be installed to avoid awkward cuts and field pieces. After reading all the Yelp Reviews, I decided to hire Roberto Enrique and his brother to do my tile project. I am very glad that I did. They did an excellent job at a reasonable price. They were on time, professional in their approach, and respectful in their attitude. I particularly appreciate the fact that they took the trouble to cover the areas not being tiled so as to protect them from the messes that can occur during a tile and grouting job. After doing some shopping around for our remodel project, we decided to go with Enriques tile and granite after getting great reviews from previous clients. Our experience with them was great!. I am very pleased with the work Enrique's Tile and Granite did installing tile in my patio. Roberto Enrique and his partner were very professional. Roberto carefully explained the installation issues and options before beginning work. They were punctual, arriving when they said they would. They were neat, kept a neat work place and cleaned up nicely up after the work was complete. They were meticulous, our patio is irregular in shape and they very carefully cut the tiles to fit nicely. Roberto Enrique and his brother did a great job installing tile in our office and downstairs bathroom. Their work was neat and perfect, and he made suggestions to how it might work better, and he was on time and totally professional. Could not recommend him more highly!! They did a wood-look tile floor, and pebble designed shower floor, and 1' by 2' tiles on the shower walls. All came out great! read more

While the craftsmanship and final installation were excellent, the experience was soured by how our materials were handled, and that they never finished the job. We specifically requested--clearly and in writing--that all remnants and offcuts be kept and returned to us. Despite this, they were discarded without notice. These were our materials, and this decision was made without our consent. Communication was poor and when we brought up our concerns, the response lacked accountability. If you choose to work with R&S, be very specific about expectations and follow up frequently. The quality of work is there, but respect for customer property and agreements was unfortunately not.

He took the time to show us the granite slabs on site and explained the differences between various types of granite and other countertop materials, including how direct sunlight can affect them in an outdoor setting. What impressed us most was how patient he was throughout the process. It took us quite a while to find a slab that we truly loved, and he never rushed us. In fact, he encouraged us to be picky and take our time selecting the right slab. He even suggested that we visit several granite suppliers. The slab we selected from a different supplier had quite a few natural fissures, and the supplier even warned us that it would require a very experienced fabricator to prevent cracking. When we mentioned that Sosa would be handling the fabrication, he immediately reassured us that we had nothing to worry about because of their expertise and reputation. After we chose our slab, Mario arranged for it to be delivered to Sosa for fabrication. The slab was slightly smaller than ideal, but Sosa carefully planned the layout to ensure everything would fit for our countertop. Before fabrication, Mario Jr. personally called us and invited us to review the layout, which gave us an idea of how our final countertop would look. Within two weeks, our granite countertop was fabricated and installed. The workmanship was excellent, the seams lined up perfectly, and the final result exceeded our expectations. This review is a long time coming. Since the first job we had David DeLima do, we had him do…read moreanother job in 2022 to do the rest of the house. The second job was a nightmare. 2+ years later we have failing floors both downstairs and upstairs. Vinyl planks that were cut short were sliding out from under the baseboards. He installed quarter round (wood) molding around our bathtub instead of cutting the flooring flush - wood and water don't mix well. The entire bottom floor that was installed on concrete is missing a vapor barrier. David came back to take a look at the floor a couple of times and blamed the product not the install. Despite his assurances that he would make it right and "take care of us" he has not been responsive to our calls and texts. He says he has since gone out of business, which I'm not sure if that is true because his contractor's license is still active. At this point my wife and I are gathering our documentation and reporting him to the licensing board and will try to go after his Performance Bond that he was covered under during the installation. Let him deal with the state and not have to deal with him anymore ourselves.
