Good Green Curry but on spicier side even when mild
    Lina C.

Relatively sizable restaurant spanning 2 storefronts. Plenty of parking in the free shopping center lot. There's a big menu plus lunch specials M-F 11:30-2:30. Good service, reasonable pricing, and flavorful dishes. Enjoyed the green curry with chicken dark meat and pad see eew with braised tofu. Mild spiciness level is still on the spicier side. Some artificial flowers decorate the walls. Would come again!

Not much in terms of decoration, but it is spacious and comfortable. The Fish Cakes were not loaded with fillers and were quite flavorful. Yum Woon Sen is a winner, especially if you like glass noodles, but you need to have high tolerance. I bit into some chili, and it took a while for me to recover, but great flavor. The Khao Soi with vegetables was generously portioned. You get a lot of different veggies including cabbage, bok choy & broccoli. Mom had Khao Soi with tofu. They offered fried tofu (not the soft kind) which was a bit tough according to her, a wonderful dish nevertheless. Service was attentive and friendly. We were offered complimentary pudding in 3 different flavors, coconut, mango and chocolate. They were all good, but my favorite was mango. The restaurant is located in the same strip mall as Vons and parking is plentiful. Definitely recommend.

I'm glad the owner opened up a second location, and it's in Pasadena. I love that many of the entrees can be customized to be vegan-friendly for my husband, and how tasty the food is, just like their Monrovia location. The space they took over from another Thai restaurant feels really dated, and it appeared that there was only one server assisting all customers on a Saturday afternoon during our visit. Also, they are not carrying the same menu items that are offered at the Monrovia location, such as the Thai Boat Noodles. Nevertheless, I am glad there's another great Thai restaurant nearby.

We were in the area for a family member having a surgical procedure. We were immediately greeted by a nice lady that was attentive and willing to serve us. It's a small to medium size restaurant that is simply decorated with basic tables. We order the Pad se ew and the satay chicken. Everything came out pretty quick and was seasoned and cooked well. The serving sizes are pretty good and you will not go away hungry.

First time coming to Thai Thyme. Heard good things online and wanted to check it out in person. They have a Monrovia location but just opened this location in Pasadena. Got their papaya salad with shrimp medium spicy. Just the perfect amount of spice and refreshing. Shrimp was cooked perfectly. Their grilled shrimp with garlic pepper sauce is a must get. Cooked perfectly and sauce is great! BBQ chicken had a lot of flavor and had a nice char flavor. Not dry at all. Would get it again. I'll definitely be coming back.

    Khao Soi Noodle Soup

Very delicious food; Tried the Noodle Soup with Coconut Curry, it's amazing, has strong coconut flavor and sweet to the right extent, asked mild spicy and it's indeed mild, unlike the usual case where it's not spicy or too spicy. The food is also in large portions. Overall it warms me up in this chilly rainy night. The restaurant seems a bit understaffed though, maybe because it's on New Year's Eve.

The food was so good. Great service and nice atmosphere. Easy parking. Will come back definitely!

Such a solid thai food place in Pasadena! I stumbled upon this place for a quick lunch on Tuesday lunch (12:30 PM). Even though it was a lunch prime time, food came out so quickly and server lady was so nice. We got chicken Khao Soi, Pad See Ew, and Chicken Satay. Khao Soi was creamy and delicious - very solid Khao Soi I tried in the states. Pad see ew was good also and chicken satay was bomb! So tender and warm. Overall I really enjoyed dining here - casual vibe, amazing service and food, and reasonable price. 10/10 recommended to check out

The interior is super pretty and they had a gorgeous neon sign. Also love the bread shelf they had. If I didn't just buy bread before this I would've wanted to buy all of it. Now as for the pastries I got, I tried their fruit tart, macarons, and the chef special strawberry croissant cube. Everything is so delicious and not too sweet. I like how fresh all the fruits are. The macarons were perfect and crisp. They didn't taste soggy at all. I also really like the custard in the fruit tart. It fell apart pretty easily but they have the little tray for you so it was okay. I really like everything and need to try their eclairs out next.

I understand they are busy, but there is no reason to swing the door at my face when I simply asked where I can put my name down on the waiting list. No answer, just rolled eyes and door in face. We really should've left because from that moment, it definitely felt like it was a mission for the two servers to make it a miserable experience for my family. I later found a small post holding up a chromebook outside of the restaurant with a paper with very small print explaining waitlist rules. It would be a lot better if the restaurant made a larger print sign that just says, "Sign In Here," and then have your small print letter to the customers about the rules. We put our name down at 12:30pm, it gave an estimated seat time of ~1pm. But because of the terrible service and mismanagement of the waiting list, we didn't get seated until 1:30pm. They seated 4 parties of 2-3 before our party of 4 when the open tables were side by side. On top of that, after we got seated, they still gave water and took the other tables orders that were seated after us before they came to us. Food took another 20 minutes to come out. I asked for the bill three times, but it didn't come until the other tables that were seated after us left and it was just empty tables next to us. In terms of the food, it was fine and the tempura was cooked well but I do not need to eat their tempura to be treated this poorly.

Perfect family dim sum experience for us…read more We took out my parents and in-laws for dim sum: my parents' very first time ever. We did wait about an hour, but honestly I didn't mind at all because it gave us a chance to relax, talk, and catch up as a family. Once we were seated, my parents were immediately impressed with the decor: elegant and cultural without feeling overly modern or cold. And can we talk about the tea kettles? They looked like literal pieces of art being poured at the table. Ordering was super easy with the QR code system, so my husband handled the whole spread: shumai dumplings, chicken feet, sesame balls, and more. Everything came out hot, fresh, and beautifully plated. The ENTIRE table agreed on one thing: the chili oil condiment deserves to be sold in bottles to take home. It was that good. Smoky, just the right amount of spicy, and addictive. Now for the real test: my in-laws. They've been to *many* dim sum places and are not easily impressed. They declared this place to have the best chicken feet that they've ever had: meat easily sucked off the bone, melt-in-your-mouth tender, and perfectly seasoned. High praise coming from dim sum veterans. Most importantly, my parents' first dim sum experience couldn't have been better. They loved everything from the ambiance to the food to the overall experience. My husband and I want to come back to explore more of the menu because there's clearly so much more to try

A Hidden Gem for Family Dining -- Outstanding Pho & Hospitality…read moreIf you haven't been to Nha Trang, stop what you're doing and go. Seriously. This place just earned a permanent spot on my list. I ordered the vegetarian pho and it blew me away -- easily one of the best bowls I've had. The broth was rich, deeply layered, and clearly made with intention. What really set it apart were the vegetables. We're talking lotus root, chayote squash, and a rotating cast of unique, seasonal additions that you just don't see at your average spot. It wasn't just filling -- it was thoughtful. But here's where Nha Trang really separated itself: the way they treated my child. From the moment we sat down, the staff brought out a perfectly sized little plate, bowl, and fork just for him -- without us even asking. They even brought out a small pair of scissors to cut his noodles to the perfect size. That one gesture alone told me everything I needed to know about this place. And when he finished eating? They brought him coloring pencils to keep him occupied. It was the kind of quiet, attentive hospitality that makes parents feel seen. The space itself is beautiful -- warm, welcoming, and clean. The kind of place where you actually want to linger over your meal instead of rushing out. Five stars, no hesitation. Whether you're coming solo, on a date, or with a toddler in tow -- Nha Trang delivers. We'll be back soon. Probably very soon.
