Complimentary Shrimp chips

Very good! We were in Athens having dinner with our son. We didn't think about it being move in weekend for the college so there was a long wait but our son said it's not usually like that. He gets pick up and eats at the restaurant about once a week. We got the pad. There is seating at the bar as well as table seating.

Chicken Pad Thai

My chicken pad thai was fresh and delicious. I love pad thai and I eat it frequently so I am very particular about this dish. It was more on the spicier and well seasoned side instead of being too sweet which I loved. My one complaint was the price, my meal was $17.34 which is more on the pricey side for pad thai. I usually pay $14 so this was a significant increase for me. Although, the portion was large and I made this meal last for 2 days which is AMAZING as a college student. I called in my order and it was done exactly when they told me it would be done. The service was quick and efficient and the hostess at the front was kind and accommodating.

Thai Spoon has great Thai food! I tried the Pad See Ew, Roasted Duck in Tamarind Sauce, and Massaman Curry. The Pad See Ew was excellent; the noodles were saucy, but the beef I added was overcooked, and I wish it had been spicier. The Roasted Duck was very crispy, but I wasn't a fan of the sauce--it was too much like sweet and sour for my taste. The Massaman Curry was really good, and I definitely want to go back and try more of their curries. However, I don't recommend the Thai tea; it was way too sweet, and I regret buying it. The prices are fair, and the portions are huge, so it's hard to finish, but I'll definitely be coming back. Although the food was great, I do have to mention that the tables are way too close to other people, which made the dining experience feel a bit cramped. Also, the restroom was not the cleanest, which was a bit disappointing.

Pad See Ewe

What wonderful soup! I absolutely loved it! The spring rolls were a little bit greasy so I wouldn't recommend getting more than one but they were delicious. The pad see ewe was amazing, I loved the way the carrots were sliced! I also love the overall ambiance of the restaurant!

Spicy Beef Salad

This is a very popular place for a weekend non-football night. The staff was very friendly and sat us right away. Our table had some soy issues (I know, not the food to eat with those restrictions) but they were soooo accommodating and made great recommendations that we would not ever considered. In general, I love Drunken Noodles. Their Spicy Noodle w/ chicken is their version of Drunken Noodles and they didn't disappoint. The spice level was a 3 out of 5 so it had a kick but not too hot. Good amount of food and lots of veggies and chicken to compliment the noodles. Veggie Spring Rolls and the Fresh Basil Roll are worth it if you are hungry.

Mango SWEET STICKY RICE

LOVE this place. Great food and the mango sticky rice is amazing when it's in season. Haven't tried something I didn't like here.

Chicken rolls

A little slow...hopefully we won't be late to the DBT show...I think we will make it. We started with the Chicken Rolls with minced chicken, onions, bell peppers, celery and basil leaves wrapped in spring roll shell, served with sweet plum chili sauce. We also had the Kiew Tod which are bite-size pastry shells filled with chicken and shrimp and fried to a golden crisp with honey & sour sauce. For our main course we got the Shrimp Pad Thai stir fried thin rice noodles with eggs, cabbage, carrots, and green onions, served with peanuts and lime to split. Everything was very good, we didn't have any leftovers. Next time we're in town we will definitely be back.

Fried corn patties with a plum sauce

The restaurant was clean and had a comfortable vibe. The service was quick and the lunch combo proved to be more than enough food. The black tea was standard but was nice for the colder weather outside. The Tom yum soup was delicious and had a more tart taste. Next time I would probably request it to be spicier. The egg roll was standard but added nice change of texture to the meal. The corn patties were delicious and paired very well with the plum sauce. I had never seen this on a typical thai menu so it was nice to try something new. The ma mussamun curry was in the sweeter side and only had chicken with no vegetables. I had also never seen avocado accompanied with the curry. In my opinion it didn't pair well with the meal and kind of threw off the flavor for me. I would definitely come back and probably try something other than the curry.

Tom Kha Coconut Soup

We've eaten here twice and feel this is better Thai food than our old favorite Thai place in Watkinsville. The Avocado Basil Rolls are wonderful. The Tom Kha Soup is Devine. The Spicy Thai Noodles are the best in Athens. We could take off a point for only serving conventional tofu instead of the preferable organic tofu, but we'll go with the full 5 stars as everything was so damn tasty. The staff was helpful and friendly. I recommend this restaurant wholeheartedly.

Curry

Very delicious food with great staff and environment! Food came out quick and I forgot to take a photo of the seasonal mango sticky rice they had. I ordered the Tamarind duck and my friend ordered the Curry with a side of rice. Servings are bigger than other places in Athens. We will be back!

I have been in Athens for almost a week now. I have enjoyed all the southern comfort food i have…read moreeaten but I'm ready for some Asian cuisine. My husband and father in law decided to grab pizza from Johnny's pizza next door. My cousin and I headed to Siri. I did check out their online menu before heading there. They seem to have your typical Thai food which is nice. Everything on the menu looked great! Lots of options to pick from. The venue itself is pretty. I love all the beautiful decor and how spacious it is. I got sat at a table while I was waiting for my cousin to head in. There was a huge rain storm and she needed it to pass before she could head in. I was told to order first and that she would order when she made it in. I got myself a Thai tea as I looked over the menu one more time. The tea was good. It was a little light on the spices and half and half but it was still good. I got some crab rangoons started. Back home, my go to meals are pad se ew, yellow curry, pad thai and rad na. On their menu there's a noodle dish that sounded similar to rad na. It's called lard na, wide rice noodles with veggies in a gravy. That's how you would basically describe rad na. I asked my server if it's pretty comparable and she said yes. So with her confirming I went ahead and ordered it. The crab rangoons were ok. They were really tiny. The filling in the middle was a little too sweet for me. It would have been nice to have a savory middle since the dipping sauce was on the sweet side. My noodle dish didn't come as I expected. There was a lot of gravy to the dish. The gravy acted like a broth. It was overwhelming eating that much gravy as a broth instead of having the gravy coat the noodles. The gai lan and broccoli was really fresh. The tofu was good. My favorite part of the dish was the wide rice noodles. But as a whole, it was ok. My experience here was decent. It was nice to branch out of all the southern style food and have some Asian cuisine. The venue is really nice and the staff was kind. It was cool to be able to mark off Thai food off my to do list in Athens.

My partner and I decided to try Tani Thai 02.20.2026 and stopped by around 6:30PM for dinner…read more First off, the interior seemed clean and well-kept. The ambiance was dark and intimate, which I appreciated -- it gave the space a cozy, relaxed vibe that felt nice for a dinner date. The music was low and soft, which worked well since most of the tables were talking pretty loudly. It didn't feel chaotic or overstimulating, and we were still able to have a comfortable conversation. Service was decent -- we were seated quickly and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Here's what we ordered: Tiger's Tears ($15) - 3/5 This was the dish I was most excited about. It's described as grilled beef with chili-lime seasoning, onions, scallions, and sweet peppers. Unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. The beef was noticeably tough, chewy, and a bit sinewy rather than tender and juicy. The chili-lime sauce was very sharp and aggressively acidic -- overwhelmingly sour to the point where it masked the savory, char-grilled flavor of the meat. It was supposed to be spicy, but as an Asian who regularly eats and enjoys spicy food, there was barely any heat at all. The dish looked vibrant and colorful, but flavor-wise it felt unbalanced and slightly one-dimensional. Basil Fried Rice with Chicken ($18) - 2.5/5 The menu labeled this as spicy as well, but again, there was zero kick. Not even a subtle warmth. It tasted like very standard, plain fried rice -- mildly seasoned, slightly oily, and lacking depth. The fresh Thai basil aroma wasn't very pronounced, and the overall flavor felt muted and underwhelming. The chicken was okay texture-wise, but the dish as a whole didn't stand out or justify the price point. It needed more heat, more fragrance, and more boldness to feel like true Thai basil fried rice. Coconut Mushroom Soup with Chicken ($5.50) - 2/5 This one was disappointing. When it first arrived, it was comforting and creamy with a light coconut aroma. Initially, it tasted balanced and mildly savory. However, as it sat and I alternated between dishes, the flavor became increasingly sour and slightly off-putting. The chicken was extremely dry, stringy, and overcooked, which made it difficult to enjoy. The broth lacked the rich, silky depth I was hoping for and ended up tasting thin, overly acidic, and somewhat flat. Thai Teas ($5.50 each) - 3.5/5 Honestly, these saved the night. Sweet, creamy, and refreshing -- exactly what you expect from a good Thai tea. Smooth, well-balanced, and flavorful. Water - 0/5 I took one sip and didn't touch it again. It tasted like straight tap water with a faint cleaning solution scent. Thankfully, we had the Thai Teas to rely on. Overall, the experience was okay but not memorable. The atmosphere and ambiance were pleasant, but the food didn't quite deliver -- especially considering how Thai cuisine is typically bold, aromatic, spicy, and layered. For us, the dishes leaned either too sour or too bland, without much balance in between. Given the prices, we were expecting more depth and stronger flavors. Not a terrible experience, but not one we'd rush back for either.

This is a review in two parts - I was pleasantly surprised…read moreto drive by and see a Thai restaurant I wasn't aware of in a town I visit monthly. Part 1: There just aren't a lot of good restaurants in Greensboro that I've found (outside the Reynolds area), so when it comes to a Greensboro sit-down restaurant, this place is a great option for a clean, attractive dining room with tasty food that beats much in the area. For a town like Greensboro, it is a 4 star restaurant. Part 2: I love Thai food. My wife's family is Thai so I am spoiled having my mother in law making the best Thai food ever. Moreover, we regularly eat at Thai restaurants at least weekly. As far as Thai restaurants go, I'd give the restaurant 2.5 stars. It is simply too bland (and Americanized) to compete with great Thai spots. Serving size wasn't great either. That is why I am saying 3 stars overall. Maybe 3.5. It's great for Greensboro but not on par with other Thai food I've experienced.

The pineapple fried rice and traditional Thai iced tea were simply amazing in terms of flavor and taste. My parents also ordered the pad Thai, which was equally delectable. The service at Lamai Ban Thai Kitchen was consistently attentive and professional. The young lady who served us last night was particularly noteworthy. Not only was we very well-cared for, but we also felt like we were part of a welcoming business establishment. If you're seeking the finest Thai cuisine in Greene County or the Lake Oconee area, Lamai Ban Thai Kitchen is an absolute must-visit! Very casual place to have a very casual diner will definitely be back in the near future! Thank you so much
