Lovely little spot, I wish I lived closer to visit more often! I am a fiend for Thai food, it's one of my favorite cuisines so I'm always happy to try a new spot on my radar. Truly, I am skeptical about trying Asian foods that aren't in metro Atlanta but Thai Spoon impressed me! I visited on a Sunday after opening , I was sat quickly and got to enjoy my meal within 15ish minutes. Quick service and my waiter was very nice! The drunken noodles were light on flavor and a little spicy, I wish it was more spicy and more flavorful but I think it suits the area and it might be just me. The portion is pretty big and very filling, I wish there was a bit more noodle but the veggies and chicken made up for it. I would love order this again next time I visit. Mango sticky rice would be my final meal if it were up to me. That being said, this place made a beautiful plate of my beloved. I just wish there was more rice!!! The mango was delicious and beautiful, great size with it being non mango season. Would love to order this again too! Clearly, this restaurant has all of my favorite Thai dishes in one place so I had to get a Thai iced coffee. We've lived in Athens for almost 3 years and just got around to trying the Thai Spoon, and it did not disappoint! It was a beautiful day in the Classic City so sat outside and one of their picnic tables - they are older and weathered but still great for sitting outside. My husband and I shared the Avacado & Basil rolls and the pork pad Thai! It was all so delicious! The service was great! We will 10/10 eat here again! read more

My chicken pad thai was fresh and delicious. I love pad thai and I eat it frequently so I am very particular about this dish. It was more on the spicier and well seasoned side instead of being too sweet which I loved. My one complaint was the price, my meal was $17.34 which is more on the pricey side for pad thai. I usually pay $14 so this was a significant increase for me. Although, the portion was large and I made this meal last for 2 days which is AMAZING as a college student. I called in my order and it was done exactly when they told me it would be done. The service was quick and efficient and the hostess at the front was kind and accommodating. read more

Thai Spoon has great Thai food! I tried the Pad See Ew, Roasted Duck in Tamarind Sauce, and Massaman Curry. The Pad See Ew was excellent; the noodles were saucy, but the beef I added was overcooked, and I wish it had been spicier. The Roasted Duck was very crispy, but I wasn't a fan of the sauce--it was too much like sweet and sour for my taste. The Massaman Curry was really good, and I definitely want to go back and try more of their curries. However, I don't recommend the Thai tea; it was way too sweet, and I regret buying it. The prices are fair, and the portions are huge, so it's hard to finish, but I'll definitely be coming back. Although the food was great, I do have to mention that the tables are way too close to other people, which made the dining experience feel a bit cramped. Also, the restroom was not the cleanest, which was a bit disappointing. read more

This is a very popular place for a weekend non-football night. The staff was very friendly and sat us right away. Our table had some soy issues (I know, not the food to eat with those restrictions) but they were soooo accommodating and made great recommendations that we would not ever considered. In general, I love Drunken Noodles. Their Spicy Noodle w/ chicken is their version of Drunken Noodles and they didn't disappoint. The spice level was a 3 out of 5 so it had a kick but not too hot. Good amount of food and lots of veggies and chicken to compliment the noodles. Veggie Spring Rolls and the Fresh Basil Roll are worth it if you are hungry. read more

Even though it took longer for our takeout order to be ready, it was worth the wait. Food was piping hot and Thai Spicy Noodles with steamed tofu super delicious! We also had pad-see-ew, fried rice and pad Thai, which were good but Thai Spicy Noodles was the winner! Now to what can be improved - food was in styrofoam containers and no foil on the bottom separating hot food from styrofoam! Also, wish they can substitute vegetables - we asked for no carrots, no cabbage, no green onions in fried rice and asked to substitute with broccoli. They said they don't allow substitutions and charged extra $2 for the broccoli. Street parking was also hard to find(spent 15 min circling around till we found parking nearby). Other than this, would go back just for the Thai Spicy Noodles! read more

The restaurant was clean and had a comfortable vibe. The service was quick and the lunch combo proved to be more than enough food. The black tea was standard but was nice for the colder weather outside. The Tom yum soup was delicious and had a more tart taste. Next time I would probably request it to be spicier. The egg roll was standard but added nice change of texture to the meal. The corn patties were delicious and paired very well with the plum sauce. I had never seen this on a typical thai menu so it was nice to try something new. The ma mussamun curry was in the sweeter side and only had chicken with no vegetables. I had also never seen avocado accompanied with the curry. In my opinion it didn't pair well with the meal and kind of threw off the flavor for me. We've eaten here twice and feel this is better Thai food than our old favorite Thai place in Watkinsville. The Avocado Basil Rolls are wonderful. The Tom Kha Soup is Devine. The Spicy Thai Noodles are the best in Athens. We could take off a point for only serving conventional tofu instead of the preferable organic tofu, but we'll go with the full 5 stars as everything was so damn tasty. The staff was helpful and friendly. I recommend this restaurant wholeheartedly. read more

This place is very popular. I called ahead and I got there about five minutes before my food was supposed to be ready. There were people sitting outside, inside, and people waiting by the cashier to be seated. There were three females organizing the food orders, and they were in the weeds when I got there. No problema, I can wait for delicious hot Thai food! The lady told me it would be another twenty minutes, and I smiled and said "thank you"!! Restaurants are really understaffed right now, so patience is a premium! I walked outside and waited about ten minutes, and the kind lady brought my food out to me! Thai Spoon has a great lunch combo. You get soup, a veggie egg roll, choice of a few different entrees, and one drink (they will charge you $3 for a refill). It's nice inside but very casual. They have limited outside seating. The service is fine. The massaman curry is good and the noodle dishes are really tasty. read more

It was alright service and I'm not a huge fan of that side of town and the food did not wow me. With that said, I should mention that I accidentally ordered the garlic chicken when I meant to say the ginger chicken... so I was a bit disappointed and the waitress didn't offer to rectify it... my mistake I can't expect them to do too much about that. However, I order a level 2 spicy and it came out blazing hot and that definitely wasn't my fault. They compensated the over spicy by giving me $1.90 off my meal.... Even my friend tried my dish and compared it to the heat levers of hers, which was also a 2, and she said mine was much hotter. I had the dumplings, spring rolls and Tom yum soup. The soup was good but the others were sub par. I think this experience was ok. I may give it a second try, but only if there's a special occasion to do so.... We started with the Chicken Rolls with minced chicken, onions, bell peppers, celery and basil leaves wrapped in spring roll shell, served with sweet plum chili sauce. We also had the Kiew Tod which are bite-size pastry shells filled with chicken and shrimp and fried to a golden crisp with honey & sour sauce. For our main course we got the Shrimp Pad Thai stir fried thin rice noodles with eggs, cabbage, carrots, and green onions, served with peanuts and lime to split. This is the place I learned how to use chop sticks when I was 20. I have been going here since then almost every time I come to Athens. The staff is friendly and helpful. It is very consistent. I always switch between ordering Thai and Sushi. If I order Thai I get shrimp pad Thai or a curry dish. When it comes to sushi there are too many options for delicious rolls so I never pick the same one. read more
