Peach and Hot Honey Cheesecake

This place opens at 5, we got there around 5:20 on a Sunday evening and it was nearly empty. I'm not from around here and that made me nervous, but by the end of the meal it was 90% + full. Service was fantastic, our server was friendly and offered another preparation for the fish of the day from a different choice in the menu. I had the daily special, Jamaican Jerk Red Snapper over rice with grilled pineapple, pickled red onion and edamame. The grilled pineapple perfectly complimented the blackened fish, jerk spice prepared in that way can land on a the salty side. The pineapple cut the saltiness and really worked when eaten together. The chef clearly understands a layered flavor approach to a dish, this was perfect. My dad had a parm crusted grouper over risotto. Each element was prepared perfectly. The minor issue here was that food took a bit longer to arrive than what I'm used to, but I enjoyed chatting with my dad on the outdoor patio. Restaurant was clean and the server (Allison) was a complete professional, clearly understanding all aspects of dishes they serve. Dessert was a peach cheesecake with hot honey drizzle. It was really really good and worth it! Would absolutely eat here again and this place is a better choice than some downtown Athens offers that have jumped the shark in my opinion.

Tongue thaid kinda small

Overpriced, slow service, and the outside is filled with gnats. The tongue thaid cocktail is $18 and very small

This was my first time visiting Chuck's Fish and I was not disappointed. We came on a Friday and there was a wait, but we were able to grab some seats at the bar within 15 minutes. The sever immediately came to wipe down our area and we ordered some drinks. I ordered the Guava Sour since I prefer gin drinks, and my friend ordered the espresso martini. I've heard their Espresso Martinis are really good, so I'll have to try it. Next we ordered appetizers and then our sushi. Everything was delicious and I would love to visit again.

I got the guava sour, soft-shell crab roll, and tuna poke. Honestly my hopes were high because this is an athens classic but I was a bit disappointed. The drink was fabulous - perfect balance between sweet and tart! I was excited to try the sushi but the soft-shell crab roll was a bit too salty and I wish there were some other flavors. I really enjoyed the poke until I found a small piece of steel in it. Unsure of what it was. The service was great but this is not the place you want to be at if you're starving. After we put in our food order I believe it took them an hour to get our food out but I will say we were in a group of 10. It's a beautiful place as well and very elegant I just wish the food matched.

Bronzed grouper was good and $40.

I like Chuck's, used to go to the original in Tuscaloosa all the time. The Athens Chucks is located in the old bus terminal on Broad Street. Had a nice meal my first stop in. Got the "bronzed" gulf fish (grouper) at Market price was $40. It was delicious. I also ordered a rainbow sushi roll. It was just okay. Noticed a lot of patrons were ordering sushi. Try the cooked fish instead!

This is a good spot. Albeit an expensive spot. I know you're paying for the ambience and the decoration and just getting in there and the location and that adds money to the bottom line. Food is very fresh. The flavors are excellent even the seaweed salad was delicious We had several dishes and started with the calamari it was very flavorful and crispy it tarred like it was dipped in rice flour so it was crunchy but not doughy The dressing over it was delicious We had several roles and a couple of drinks The bill was definitely excessive for the city of Athens - I have heard they do or used to do a happy sushi hour in the past

Sushi was INCREDIBLE! Came back to Chucks the next time we were visiting Athens and it was equally as good.

My absolute favorite restaurant in Athens, GA!! It has a friendly atmosphere perfect for a nice meal with friends or a date. The have regular entrees as well as a full sushi menu! For a higher end restaurant, the sushi is a great price. I prefer their entrees over the sushi, but you cannot go wrong either way. I have never had a bad experience here & highly recommend it to everybody! *Parking is downtown athens street parking* Cup of Gulf Seafood Gumbo ($8): 10/10 Not typically a gumbo person because they usually have pork sausage in them which I don't eat, but this one is strictly seafood & veggies! It has the perfect spice level & flavor for the cup & I also love that they serve it with the rice on top & not underneath! Chicken Scaloppine ($25): 10/10 Can't even put into words how much I love this dish. The gnocchi & chicken is cooked to perfection & the cream sauce being the perfect addition. I have ordered this almost every single time I have gone & never been disappointed.

Now I've always came to Chuck's for their sushi so I decided to switch it up today for my last Chuck's visit before I move out my apartment :( The shrimp and chorizo fettuccine was delicious! Such a filling portion with ample amount of shrimp and fettuccine to go with it. Chuck's all around is such a great restaurant and will definitely be a visit whenever I'm back in town!

Food wasn't that great drinks were mediocre at best! I believe it's all hype with less than ordinary execution. Get sushi from Sakura.

Marker 7 Coastal Grill - Athens, GA…read more Marker 7 Coastal Grill was so good, I went back twice during a three-day stay. I had the Ahi Tuna Bruschetta and the Black Bean Bowl with Salmon both times -- both dishes were fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The staff was top notch. My husband, a professional chef, really enjoyed the Fried Shrimp and Mac and Cheese. Everything we tried was delicious, and the laid-back atmosphere made it even better. We will definitely be back next time we are in Athens!

This place was an…read moreabsolute disaster from start to finish, and I want to save other people from wasting their time the way we did. We were told 45 minutes. Fine. We were patient. But that "45 minutes" turned into well over an hour, and the part that really blew my mind? A group that arrived THIRTY minutes after us was seated before us. Not because of a mix‑up. Not because of a misunderstanding. The host looked right at us, ignored us, and kept seating people who walked in long after we did. It was blatant and honestly insulting. Meanwhile, the manager, the person who should be running the floor, checking on guests, and making sure the host isn't playing favorites, was literally in the back doing dishes. Not managing. Not helping. Not even acknowledging the chaos happening out front. The entire front‑of‑house was a mess, and no one seemed to care. After being ignored multiple times and watching them seat people ahead of us, we finally hit our breaking point. We were a party of seven, ready to spend good money, and we took our business elsewhere. And honestly? Best decision we made all night. Marker 7 wasted our time, disrespected us, and made it painfully clear that customer service is not a priority there. Athens has too many great restaurants to put up with this kind of treatment. Do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else.

Friendly professional service, our server was very nice and helpful. She went out of her way to make sure we had a nice dining experience. Great food options, with a lowcountry inspiration. The menu is lowcountry focused and the food is executed beautifully. We started with a dozen of the local oysters, they were fresh, sweet and delicious, a solid start. After giving the menu a good perusal, my dinner companion went for the evenings special. The evening special was, shrimp and crab ravioli. This is a generous portion of nicely prepared ravioli's filled with a sweet succulent crab and then whole shrimp in a rich cream sauce. Presented simple and clean, she said it was delicious, and my sampling of it was just that. Pan seared red fish over etufee was my choice, again a very good meal. A nice serving of perfectly cooked Red fish mixed over a generous portion of etufee. Spicy, succulent, full flavored. It was a really solid selection and very good. A couple sides to go with our entrees, the mashed potato and brocolli, both were done well, simple and tasted good as you would expect. The biscuits, oh those biscuits. The biscuits were a great addition. All in all a solid dining experience and well worth the effort, good lowcountry food done well. As well reservations are recommended especially on the weekends. 4 Stars - recommended 01075
