Update: After posting my original review, management reached out to me very quickly and addressed my concerns directly. I appreciate the professionalism of their response and their willingness to investigate the situation rather than dismiss it. My original concerns remain valid. On two separate lunch visits, my order was either forgotten or delayed to the point that I ultimately canceled it and left. What made it particularly frustrating was realizing both incidents involved the same waiter. Even after I left during the most recent visit, my youngest daughter was still waiting on her meal. Management explained that they experienced equipment issues during the most recent lunch service, which contributed to delays. While that helps explain part of what happened, I still believe better communication with customers would have prevented much of the frustration. I also received clarification regarding the automatic 20% gratuity, which is their standard policy for larger parties and was removed immediately when questioned. What keeps me coming back is the food. The food at Athens Pho has consistently been excellent, and my experiences with the rest of the staff have generally been very positive. My concern has never been with the quality of the food or the restaurant as a whole, but rather with a recurring service issue that I felt management needed to be aware of. Because management took the time to respond professionally and address the concerns, I felt it was only fair to update my review accordingly. Another meh restaurant after being hopeful from social media :( I went in with high hopes after seeing so many people talk about this restaurant and seeing the restaurant's tik toks! I love Vietnamese food and Vietnamese coffee so of course I had to try!!! The restaurant is pretty small but there is a lot of seating! The best part of the experience was listening to The Marias on the radio, I think that's the only thing that kept me sane. The bathroom didn't have any toilet paper and the floor was so sticky The price was high for the portions given for a to go meal. I paid $24 before tip for a grilled pork vermicelli bowl and a small Vietnamese coffee. I was honestly sad with how little I was given for a single meal. It was meh. I was only given fish sauce for my bowl, I'm used to seeing self service stations to add more condiments but I unfortunately couldn't grab any sriracha or chili oil :( I wish there was more veggies like pickled daikon and carrots. Meat portion and flavor was ok too, nothing remarkable. Disappointing but I was hungry. The Vietnamese coffee was pretty basic but had a very strong caramel flavor? For a small cup filled with a lot of ice, this drink was not it. I placed at 1:03 and was told it would be about 10 minutes, I got my food at 1:41. I don't think it was that busy in the restaurant and had gotten there before a group. I hate to be a Karen but this was a disheartening experience! Staff didn't really come to greet me, so I wasn't sure on where to go to order while they just stood at the desk across the room. I thought I would've received my coffee earlier but I had to wait for that to be made after I had finally received my food. I have been in Athens for a week and all week we have had southern comfort or American style food. As an Asian who loves Asian style food, I needed some pho in my life. I googled pho in the area and Athens Pho popped up. Their ranking is 4.9 so it has to be good! Driving up to this joint, it looked familiar. This place used to be another seafood/Vietnamese joint last year. They were pretty good but it looks like new folks have rebranded and taken over. Came in and was instantly greeted by a sweet man. He got me sat and I looked over the menu. As usual, I did check out their menu online so I had a general idea of what I wanted. I wanted everything! Bun thit nuong, bun bo hue and com ga nuong all sounded so good but I decided on some fresh rolls, a medium bowl of pho, a berry lemonade and a house special banh mi to go. Not gonna lie, the fresh rolls were pre rolled. The texture of the rice paper was a little dry. It was rolled with a nice amount of rice noodles, bean sprouts, shrimp and pork. I appreciate the peanut sauce they served with it. It is was really good! My bowl of pho came out pipping hot! It had a generous amount of steak, brisket, meatballs and tendon. I love the fresh herbs that they served with my pho. The broth was very flavorful and rich. The noodles were cooked perfectly! Just add the herbs, jalapenos and Sriracha and it's perfection. I smashed that bowl so fast. It was delicious! I can see why they have a high Google ranking. The staff was so nice! The food was great! And service was fantastic. I ordered a banh mi sandwich for later and I'm looking forward to tearing it up. If you're looking for a great Vietnamese joint to hit up, this is the joint to do it at! Best Pho that I've had in a long time. Service was excellent, portion size is plentiful and prices good. Lots a variety in the types of broth and noodles - I tried two different kinds, rice and a thicker udon-like noodle). Both were excellent. On a chilly day there is nothing better. We recently moved here and this place was one of the first places on our list of places to try! The food was amazing and it is the perfect comfort food. As a Viet person myself, I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who wants good authentic Vietnamese food. I've had their pho three times now, and the broth never disappoints--it's authentic, flavorful and comforting. The noodles, though, could use some improvement; they break apart easily and don't have that nice chew. I would give it 5 out of 5 if they can improve on their noodles. read more

I Had an overwhelming need for a pho fix. My memory kicked in that the Crab Hut had gone all in for Vietnam cuisine earlier this summer. Whopping four miles from home here on the Eastside of Athens. Tried the chicken pho for lunch. As soon as I walked in the family vibe took over. Staff were helpful and cheerful. Seated without delay and waited on very promptly. My large bowl of happiness arrived with generous side of sprouts,jalapeños,basil and cilantro which added a nice punch to the pho. I enjoyed watching the dinning room continued to fill up. Many smiles around the room. Staff worked to service the customers with smiles and happy banter between all. Highly recommend trying this addition to the Athens dining scene. They had a large banner saying "Soft opening 10% off and free soft drinks. We thought we would give it a try. Sat down and the only person working the dining room told us.... Discount and soft drinks expired and waiting for owner to take sign sown. No stir fry as chef is sick and went home. Well we came, we tried and won't be back again! Tried this place a few days ago for lunch. There was only one waitress working so I was a little worried because it was getting full as I came in. The service was prompt and very helpful (this was pretty much my first time trying Vietnamese food but she was super helpful walking me through the menu and asking my preferences) the food was great and I even tried a Thai Tea that she made and it was also great. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu and would recommend. read more

Food is always great, but they need to work on their customer service. Server was not attentive to our table starting with waiting a little too long to even take out order. Then when it was time for us to ask for our check and he just nodded and returned to cleaning a table but when the table next to us asked for their check he brought it back within 1 min and we were still waiting for ours but after another 10 mins we just went up to the counter and paid. I got the chicken pho to go and it was excellent. Best I've found in Athens! The interior had a great vibe, Sriracha and hoisin sauce on the table allowing you to season your pho however you like. Definitely will be back. read more
