My husband and I came to Athens for the day to visit and there was an event (or audition?) going on at the Classic Center and the town was full of people everywhere. The restaurants were packed and the wait times were over an hour. We found this pizza place and there was only one couple in line ordering so we decided to eat here. After we ordered and got a table, I saw that the line had gotten longer. You order your food first, pay and then find a table and bring a number to your table. When the food is ready they bring it to your table. We ordered the LA CARNE PIZZA (sausage, prosciutto, sliced meatballs, pepperoni, smoked Gouda mix) for $12.95. It didn't take that long for the pizza to arrive. It was thin, crunch and hot yum! Their pizza was very good. I would eat here again when in Athens. read more

The food is absolutely delicious. Every time I go here, I order the pepperoni calzone. The portion is quite large and filling. The service is well and they're very friendly. An easy five stars based on my one and only visit to date. If you're going to name a place "Ted's Most Best," it better be great. It was. Ted's is located more less in the heart of downtown Athens right across the street from the 40 Watt Club. It's a great choice for dinner if you are seeing a show at the 40 Watt, which we were (Drive-by Truckers). The menu is extensive with lots of interesting choices. More or less all of it looked good to me. The drill is you order at the counter, they give you a number, and then bring your food to whatever table you might choose. There is lots of seating inside and out. It was a beautiful evening when we want and therefore chose the roomy outside patio. We both got pizza. The pizza's are all thin crust 10" pies, in other words personal sized, which is great. You don't have to negotiate with your dinning companion(s) about what kind of pizza to get. Lots of artisan pizza's are offered, but I, perhaps foolishly, chose the old stand by pepperoni with red onions added. It was very good, but I regret not ordering one of the fancier options. I won't make that mistake when I return to Athens next year. Booze wise it's beer and wine only. I washed my food down with a Creature Comforts Tropicalia as one does. Creature Comforts is a local Athens brewery that puts out some really, really good beers. The service was friendly and our food came out pretty fast, but it wasn't super busy. I was a bit surprised to have this little Italian cafe right next to Athens breweries, and clearly I was not expecting this much delicacy on a regular football weekend. Seating - Little patio has a lot to offer, lovely and comfortable. We were lucky to have the sunshine outside. Salads- Pleasantly surprising, vegetables were amazingly fresh and the amount of salad dressings -presumably only olive oil and lemon- were in a great proportion. A meat-lover like me is amazed. Cheese-The best part. I was longing for a great goat cheese for a very long time and there it was. Sliders-We had slider sampler and caprese slider (2-3 sliders each plate). They were very filling, I'd recommend the caprese slider since the mozzarella was very fresh. Drink- Only had cava, which went great with the salads and sliders. On a day trip to Athens, I asked one my sorority sisters to take me to an Athens staple! She recommended Ted's Most Best. It's in downtown Athens and parking is interesting. We went on Sunday and they had a happy hour special but it wasn't that great of a deal. You order food at a counter and it's open seating. That's not bad and considering it was a large group we had plenty of places to sit. We ordered meatballs as an appetizer and they were pretty good and came out fast. I ordered a calzone with pancetta and meatballs. I also ordered a small Caesar salad. The salad was great. Not over dressed. The calzone looked great and tasted great for the most part but the pancetta seemed raw. I thought since it was like Italian bacon it would be crispy but it was slime and messed up the texture of the calzone. I had to pull all the pancetta off. I also ordered a Swedish cider in Passion Fruit. This cider was way to sweet for my personal taste. Ted's didn't appear much different from any other small pizza spot but if I have an opportunity I would try a regular pizza instead. read more
