Friendly staff. Clean restaurant. Big selection to satisfy most. We stopped in for lunch passing through the area. Hadn't had Larry's in many years, since we were in Jacksonville FL. This location was just as good as we remember A lot of sandwich for the price. Good flavor meats and I love their bread. read more

My husband is sick of me saying "Larrys" when he asks what I want for dinner. I'd give anything to live 20 minutes closer bc the forty minute drive isn't in the cards for him. Their subs are second to none in the area. read more

I was in the Athens area and heard this was a great sandwhich spot. Me and my friends went here to start our New Year's Eve and it did not disappoint. The sandwich itself was great and the customer service was even better. Great spot 83/100 read more

Larry's Giant Subs - The Destroyer - Delis Near Me - Athens, Georgia

Visited Larry's G Subs in Athens yesterday! The dinning room was clean as well as the bathrooms. They also have a patio, but one of the seats was covered with a rug? The employees are friendly and the work quickly. I gave them 4 stars. Tte reason for my rating is because the place was clean, fast and friendly. The sub size was 12 inches for $14.00. Which I think is stretching it. The measure of a giant sub is not just the size of the roll, but the quantity of protein and the ingredients added. In my sub there was approximately 6 oz of protein. Which in my opinion, is lacking. Particularly when you compare it to the bacon burger at Rafferty's, which is 1/2 lb and comes with fries for $14.49 carry out. I like Larry's but the food was just ok. The sandwich had no flavor. No seasoning whatsoever. It was very bland tasting, which took away from the sandwiches appeal. The ingredients were fresh tasting. The temperature of the ingredients impacted the taste, because my sandwich was only luke warm and the lettuce etc was nice and cold, which may have cooled the steak. Publix might be a good option, where you get a 12 oz steak sub, with 8oz of protein for under $12. It will be seasoned to perfection and you can order it online and pick up. Again, I liked Larry's. There meat apparently is hormone free, which is something the other locations don't advertise I just didn't think the value matched the overall experience for my money spent. I still would recommend folks try them out and see what you think. read more

Food is very good, meats are not full of unhealthy additives. My only wish is that music is often too loud and selection of music often has very limited appeal. read more

Not a very giant sub. 8 or 12 is not giant so I thought maybe the amount of meat that goes in it. Not so much. Service and ambiance are great read more

Fresh bread, huge subs, and generous portions that leave you full and happy. The Reuben is a standout--loaded with flavor and made just right read more

This is a typical fast food sub shop. The service is friendly and efficient. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming. The sub selection is quite varied but not exceptional. read more

Larry's Giant Subs need to be called Larry's Tiny Subs. The eight inch Philly cheese steak is the smallest sub I have ever eaten. The sandwhich was very small and not worth the price. I would not order again. read more

Called in a large and somewhat complicated order. The young lady that took my order was very helpful and patient. The order was ready when I arrived, everything was perfect and sandwiches were awesome!!! Excellent job! Thanks! read more

Larry's Giant Subs - Me - Delis Near Me - Athens, Georgia

I stopped by Larry's as I was running errands yesterday to grab a quick bite to eat! as soon as I walked in I was greeted with a smile. I told the young man that I had not been there before and he gave me a few of his recommendations I took him up on the Kongs Club! The sub only took about five minutes for them to prepare, and was delicious!! I did add chips in a drink and my total came out to a little over $13. Overall, it was a great experience! The restaurant was clean the service was great and the food was just as good. Highly recommend if you're in the area! * I also saw that they did catering! I did not look at the pricing of that but it looked like it would be a good option for an event! read more

My favorite here is the Big Boss Man, all the way! But I can say this IS the best sandwich shop I know of! They don't skip on meat or toppings. It'd be great if you could enjoy a cold beer with your sandwich, but no alchohol is served... read more

Fast and friendly service. Clean. Had a great visit. Only negative is that the parking lot does not have handicap parking marked, side walks were high, and the only ramped spot at end of plaza had car parked there blocking ramp. This is the developer's fault not the sub shop. read more

My daughter and I love getting sandwiches here! The bread is soooo fresh and the sandwiches are always made to our satisfaction. Good fast friendly customer service! read more

I like these subs better than $ubway or Himmy Hohn's. I like them both but these are delicious. They use better meat, bread is fresh. I really like the sandwich dressing they add to make it sweet. Larry's is awesome read more

The food was okay, not good but okay. Kind of pricey and the restroom needs attention. I might go back but won't make a special trip.

Larry's is a delightful throwback to the classic sandwich shop. There aren't a ton of veggie options, but the Greek is pretty good. The bread is fresh and has a good bite. A perfect spot for lunch that isn't a soulless chain. read more

Ordered small combo sub. Service was fast and people were efficient. The sub was substandard. The roast beef was fatty and there was very little of it. Not sure how to reconcile all the 5 star reviews. Very dissatisfied. Maybe an off day. read more

Larry's Giant Subs is magical. They have great prices and they have a whole lot more in them than subway.

I have never had a bad meal here. In probably 6-7 years of going here. Succulent meats and the freshest vegetables in the biz. Soft and flavorful bread. Polite staff who get things done and a clean restaurant. I recommend the 12" Italian Big One. I love this place. read more

Really good sandwiches with fresh ingredients. I had the New York Special, my wife had the ham and cheese, and my son had the meatball with provolone cheese. All of us enjoyed the sandwich, especially the bread. This was my first time ordering from here and the person who took my order took the time to explain the sandwiches and your options. I can see this place being a Saturday lunch take out spot. read more

What can I say? Their service was so good. Called on the phone, it was ready when I got there, and their customer service was friendly and outgoing. Was the sandwich bad? No, I mean I ate it. Was it the best or even half best cheese steak I've ever had? Well no. It wasn't the best. The bread was bleh, the meat was thick, not enough onions, didn't taste like a cheese steak. But it's Georgia and not Philly so I'm not mad about it. So who cares. Good job Larry. read more

Probably the most selection of subs I've ever seen. Massive menu and nice staff. They had a special for an 8inch sub with soda and chips for about $8. I got a Philly cheesesteak, which was okay. They went a little overboard on the lettuce and the meat wasn't that flavorful. read more

My boyfriend raved about Larry's since I moved to Athens. I had never had it and was excited. However, we used the app to order online and picked up in-store. We got home and realized they put no toppings on our subs that we ordered, just the meat and cheese. Disappointing for $20 subs :/ read more

First of all they ought to change the name to just Larry's Subs cuz there was nothing giant about the sandwich that I got. The 8" Philly Cheese steak That thing made Subway look Giant and it was 10 bucks. And while most Philly steaks are done with pepper, onions and cheese Larry's offers theirs with onions only( and of course the cheese). Those of us who don't like grilled onions are left with just the steak provolone and bread .Their custom baked bread was nicely chewey but absent any crust and not toasted or even heated. It was more akin to a hot dog bun than a hoagie roll and noticeably smaller in diameter than even the above mentioned Subway version. The steak,as advertised, was really high quality and very tender and tasty and there wasn't any skimping on the portion. The provolone too seemed to be a cut above the usual Sub Shop. Bottom line I expected better from Larry's according to all the hype. Score: overpriced underperformed. read more

Delicious and huge subs. Friendly, courteous staff, and great prices. Highly recommended.

Never disappointed at Larry's. This is the only place to find a decent Chicago beef sandwich. Friendly staff and clean inside.

Larry's off Epps is so good! They are Covid friendly and they always have fresh food. One of my favorite sub places here in Athens. They also have cheesecake and cookies, both are always fresh and taste great. The philly sub is my favorite. I do wish they have different sized combos though. read more

Good subs. Clean restaurant. I'm not usually a submarine sandwich fan, but this place is ok in my book.

Found Larry's on Yelp. It's your basic old school sub shop. A mix of cold and hot subs. Nice guys at the register greeting you and helping you place your order. I had a Philly and a side of chips. Overall it was a good sandwich prepared quickly. It was definitely business when I was there on a Sunday afternoon. I'd go back when I am in the area again read more
