I really like the subs at firehouse subs. I like the fact that you can get a small, medium, or large one. The bread is tasty and excellent as well. My favorite is the Italian sub--all the way. I highly recommend it. They also have bottles of hot sauce that you can choose from and add to your food whatever you may be ordering. read more

Since we have been back in Athens and Firehouse is just down the street we have become big fans of their subs. We usually order and pick up but sometime eat the combo on site. Their medium sub is the perfect size. The bread is always fresh and steamed perfectly. There is always plenty of meats and toppings. The staff is very friendly and make a great sub. read more

Incorrect order. When I attempted to contact them, the night manager said that she doesn't handle complaints. The website "contact us" takes you to "404 NOT FOUND." The app gives a message of "this issue has been resolved" before I even entered any info at all. What a joke. read more

I headed to Athens to grab a bite to eat during the weekend before the first Covid Thanksgiving. I was horrified at all of the people gathered in groups downtown and walking around without masks, so I headed back home. On my way, I passed by Firehouse Subs. They were well lit, and because of the glass windows, I could see inside and was relieved to see only a few people there. It seemed like many individuals get their order to go, and most ordered in advance. There was a couple sitting at a table inside without masks, but they were dining in. There was also a nurse who showed up to order something to go, but she was wearing a mask. The place was large enough that we could easily spread out and maintain plenty of distance from one another. Lots of the tables and chairs that would fill the space in front of the counter were stacked out of the way to allow customers to keep their distance. All of the staff were wearing masks and were actively engaged in making sandwiches most likely for those "to go" orders. I scanned the menu and settled on a classic meatball sub with marinara. It was hearty and hit the spot. The bread was perfectly soft and fresh. I didn't have to work to tear off rubbery chucks nor did the bread disintegrate under the weight of the meatballs and juicy red sauce. It was served in a sturdy eco clamshell that was ideal for eating ones meal on the go. There was outdoor seating, but it was a bit cold and poorly lit, so I opted to dine in my car instead. I enjoyed looking at the decor while I waited for my order. Firehouse Subs had protective fire gear such as helmets, jackets, pants, and fire hoses adorning the walls. When the manager was ringing up my order, he asked if I wanted to make a donation to the firefighters. I can't remember the exact amount, but it was around .58 cents. I said, "Yes" and I imagine others would too because it is such a small amount (perhaps the difference between your meal's change and the next whole dollar amount). In any case, what a great idea. It goes with the theme of the restaurant, and definitely goes to a good cause. One of the signs on the walls indicates that a portion of all sales goes to the firefighters. What a great, feel-good business plan. I look forward to coming back and trying some of the other goodies they offer here. read more

The bread's crispiness and variety of options make every bite satisfying. Perfect for a quick, flavorful meal. Highly recommended!

I came here to get my free birthday sandwich and the lady at the cash register taking my order was rude. She was about to make me pay full price because I didn't have my ID to prove it's my birthday until her coworker stepped in and said it was fine. She was beyond rude to me and I am very disappointed. read more

my daughter in law was just in this location on 10/6/2023, around 4:30, and the young black lady at the counter refused to serve her because she was white, Literally telling her that she would not serve her for being white. being shy and non-confrontational she turned to leave when another young man stepped forward and apologized and asked house he could help her. She ended up getting a sandwich but I will reframe from stepping in there as I might have more to say. You can not bitch about racism by being a racist. read more

i have been going to this firehouse subs on Prince Ave for 2 years now every single week. I have never experienced such awful customer service in my life then when I went in today and spoke with Wayne and this black women with glasses . I went in to get my buy one get one free sub for President's Day because my name was one of the names of the First Ladies. However, they had forgotten the name on the list and even with proof from the official White House page of names of all First Ladies and presidents they refused to give it to me because of their mistake of forgetting a name. This however, was not the issue, it was the way that they spoke to me, repeatedly raising their voice saying "IT ISN'T ON THE PAPER", and that "they didn't know who she was so it didn't matter if she was a first lady or not" making a huge scene that was not necessary at all. I said it was okay and I would just pay for the Sub and they continued to make loud comments (the manager and the cashier) The issue was not having to pay For a sub it was how they humiliated me in front of an entire restaurant because I questioned something I was confused about. I have ALWAYS loved this establishment and several of the employees know my name and order by heart, but the way I was treated today will make me never come back. I have never been one to write a review on anything especially not my favorite place to eat but the way they acted was embarrassing. read more

TLDR: very unpleasant experience; to be fair this is not how I am used to being treated here. Anyways, the manager (not the guy I'm used to seeing) was surprisingly unfriendly. I asked for a pair of utensils to go with my order and was told if I needed utensils for my order they would be in there and promptly turned her back to me. I get i had a sandwich and dessert, nothing specifically requiring them but if an order has been paid for, i dont understand the logic in this. Thank you for helping me save any money I would have otherwise spent here to give to somewhere I actually feel welcome. And I get that it was unusual, but to not allow the customer utensils if they want them and refuse/not even offer to even let me buy utensils to use is beyond ridiculous. What did I do that was so egregious an error as to be refused what seems to me to be a simple request? read more

Good lord. Where to start? I had a call in order. Asked 2 if the three at the counter making sandwiches if they made it since it wasn't on the rack. Totally ignored me. So then I waited in line while the one guy actually working was ringing up the other customer in the store. During this time I tried to ask the three people standing in the door way to the back offices, they couldn't be bothered because of the personal conversation about their plans for later that night. I was about to leave but I wanted to get my $15 worth of food. The sandwich wasn't bad, it was cold because of the extra 18 minutes it took to get it! I should have just hit the McDonald's drive through. At least I know the quality I'm getting and the people at work there typically are working. If a fireman went here in street clothes I would think they would have to get the off duty guys to come run the joint. I hate to give a 1 star to a place that as a company I love. I hope someone who can train their employees sees this and maybe uses a few of the Yelp add dollars for some training of the slobs working in this piss poor establishment. I would say I will come back next time I'm in town and update the review but this place won't get my business until it changes ownership or becomes a Jimmy john's- yeah I'd rather have one of those rock hard $3 sandwiches than go here again. I'm sure the grammar in this is atrocious but I think I conveyed my annoyance and hopefully can keep someone else from stepping foot in this dumpster fire. Haha fire. read more

These guys are open 24hours which felt like a miracle for someone who had to find dinner super late after being on the road for hours. I'm guessing that drunk college kids (or those responsible ones who are up late studying) also feel just as excited to have late night nosh options available. I resisted the urge for a big ol' sub sandwich and opted for a lighter dinner ... the Italian chicken chopped salad. Holy cow! The portion size was incredibly generous and the ingredients were tasty. Little bites of chicken, small clumps of salami, tiny cubes of cheese, olives, tomatoes, etc. It was perfectly chopped and mixed. The crew working when I arrived were happy, high spirited and friendly. I actually ended up visiting with one of the guys as he shared some great ideas on places I should check out while in town. Fantastic! I got my food to-go but this would be a fine place to sit down and eat. Not fancy. Not pretentious. Easy going and healthier than fried fast food. read more

As I've said before, I'm not really into reviewing restaurant chains because generally you know what you're gonna get when you go to a chain restaurant. The service, cleanliness and food may vary from spot to spot but in general a McDonalds is a McDonalds is a McDonalds. I like for my Yelp reviews to hit places that are not in every town or a concert venue or something like that. But I'm open to reviewing chains that do something really bad or really good. This Firehouse Subs gives on-duty EMS free drinks with purchase. That may not seem like much but its a nice gesture and saved me $2 off my meal. As far as the sandwiches, they destroy Subway, not in size or price but taste and quality. read more

Good service, glad to find a Firehouse opened for 24 hours here. It was empty on an early Monday morning, so we ordered pretty quickly and got a table. The wait was okay, and the employees were nice enough to deliver the sandwiches straight to the table. I ordered the smokehouse beef brisket, which was a little over sauced and the meat was a tiny bit dry, though not a big deal. Hot sauce game at this spot was still strong, even though the ratings for the spiciness were off. However, the variety of hot sauces were great, ranging from West Indian style to sweet chili Thai. Service wasn't bad as the other reviews made it out to be, so I'm not sure what the discrepancy is. read more

Just ordered (and enjoyed) two subs from here and I can say that Frank is a lying son of a bitch and his review is patently false. Subs and service were phenomenal. Frank, stop your slander against this great place of business. read more

If you're looking for a go-to hot sub place, Mark this on your priority list. I've lived in 4 states over the last 4 years and have been fortunate enough to have Firehouse in 3 of them. This place is just as consistent as the rest I have been to, and by far the best bang for your buck in subs. Jimmy Johns is great at cold subs, Jersey Mike's at cheesesteaks, and Firehouse for any other hot sub. Order here if you love toasted subs (I can't say I've tried Firehouse's cheesesteaks and demean them, I just know that's what Jersey Mike's does well and are known for that's why I said what I did) read more

Wasn't the fastest of service, one male worker was too focused on the new employee chopping bell peppers wrong than preparing orders. But the sandwich itself was AMAZING ! It has been a long time since I had one of their sandwiches and it was well worth the wait. I got the large steak and cheese combo and oh my all I wanted to do was sleep after attempting to eat half of a half of the sandwich. At this rate take your time from now on if this is the result! GREAT JOB ! And dude that was worried about the bell peppers there's a time and a place to discuss that and it's not while there's 4 customers at the counter ! read more

The subs are good, but the people here seem to really have a problem understanding the concept of "no mayo." Four or five times now I've ordered from here through Bulldawg and specifically said "NO MAYO" all caps, no ambiguity. Not only have those sandwiches still had mayo on them, they were positively swimming in it. If I didn't know from other reviews that their sandwiches were typically drenched in mayonnaise, I'd think they were doing it to spite me for daring to request they not use what must be their favorite condiment on my sandwiches. Mayo makes me puke, guys. LISTEN to your customers' requests. read more

Firehouse subs are awesome! This one on prince is always good. Fast and friendly service. They have lots of stuff to put on the subs. It's way better than subway. It is a little expensive for a sub shop though. Normally around $20 for 2 people to eat. The brisket is by far my favorite sub from firehouse. They load it with sweet baby rays BBQ sauce so I just get mine on the side and use there house sauce which is really great on the brisket. read more

It is by far my favorite sandwich location. Great service. Always friendly and fabulous food. I love their rewards program too.

Not a good sub at all. Might have been better if the had gotten my order right, but I doubt it. Would not recommend.

Came here for a late night meal on my way home from downtown. Ordered my sub then joined my friends at the table. Two of them got their subs while me and another friend continued to wait. After the two friends finished their subs, I decided to investigate why the two remaining subs were not delivered to the table. Come to find out they were given to another table that took them and left. Because the crew felt this was the people's fault for not saying that the subs were not theirs, they only offered to make the subs we paid for. Nothing else to remedy the situation. Staff was truly unhelpful. I will most likely take my business to another late night eating place located in the vicinity over this establishment in the future. read more

I had been to another Firehouse Subs in Tennessee before I came to this one, and as I walked in to this one, I was pleasantly surprised at how much nicer this location was. However, the food and service here was not up to par. Just went in here and stood at the register for a few minutes waiting to order while the 10+ people behind the counter avoided making eye contact with me. Wanted to place a takeout order for me and my wife for lunch, so I looked to see if they have online ordering to save some time. Tried 5 times and it never worked. Then I called (twice) rang both times but nobody picked up. I get here and there are about 20 people, only 3 or so with food. I've now been waiting for over 25 minutes (which is what I feared). I see a lot of unhappy customers. Not good firehouse. Very disappointed. read more
