I don't usually give bad reviews but I did not like the way I was treated here at all, it was incredibly upsetting. I had ordered takeout over the phone and after adjusting my order, the host repeated it back to me three times to make sure we were on the same page. I ordered tofu for everything since I'm a vegetarian. Had I heard her say chicken or any other sort of meat, I would've easily caught it. I drove there to pick up my pricey order, tipped well, then left. When I got home and opened up all the boxes, I noticed quite a lot of chicken in the fried rice. I was frustrated but called and acted polite, to see if I could be compensated for it since it was inedible. The same host wasn't sympathetic nor did she apologize. She cut me off to correct me for something, then she actually accused me of saying chicken over the phone (yeah okay!) and said that it's what she had written down. She said I could drive all the way back to exchange it for another, but I explained that it was a long drive, that I had already waited long for this food, and I just would like to not pay for it. I also explained the issue with the chicken and how I'm a vegetarian. She didn't offer to take it off the bill or anything of the nature, and the worst part was just her overall blunt rudeness and confrontational attitude. The service was excellent and the food was delicious as well. I ordered the Tom Kha and Gang Garee and was pleased with both dishes. The Tom Kha could have had a bit more spice for a kick but thats just me being picky. Our food came out with rice, a salad, and an egg roll. The portion sizes were perfect for lunch; more than filling. Tie that in with beyond reasonable pricing and you have another addition to your lunch rotation. This place has great atmosphere. It's in a strip mall but once inside you would never know. The food is equally great. There is a beef with Thai peppers and basil that I get every time it's so good! Pad Thai is good. The yellow curry has to be one of the best I've had. My only complaint is that some of the more expensive items tend to have smaller portions. This place is one of the hidden gems of the salt lake valley. It's situated in the heart of Ft. Union and I think doesn't get noticed because of all the other options so close. My grandparents were in town and wanted to go out for Thai and this place is right down the road so we stopped in. I had the yellow curry and it was so good! I frequent this particular Thai establishment 2 sometimes 3 days a week and have never been disappointed with the service or the food. Very delicious Thai food with less-than-adequate service. We started with a soup that was stellar, followed by Pad Thai, Massaman Curry, and Red Curry Salmon. As stated the food was outstanding! However, the service was very mediocre. The waitress was far more interested in preparing for closing (we arrived at 8:30 and they close at 10:00 p.m.). The hostess spent most of the time behind the counter texting. After we finished our food, the dirty plates sat in front of us for 15 minutes before anyone came to take anything from the table (by that time we were the only people in the restaurant). I went in during lunch and ordered off the lunch menu. I ordered he himmapan which also included a salad. When it came a third of he plate was dry, wilty lettuce with no dressing. The food was decent but the main thing that got me was that the server was so rude. First time in Salt Lake City and decided to go with Thai. This place sucks! The service and food are terrible. The didn't have the fresh spring rolls nor the papaya salad. Ordered the pad kee mao which was way too sweet! When we informed the waiter about the dish being way too sweet he said there was nothing he can do but maybe bring us some hot sauce ( it was already on the table). We were outraged! He kept insisting that it was our fault and it said on the menu that the customer is responsible for what they order! He also demanded that we have to pay for the dish. I was so appalled. I informed him that I would not pay for meal since I was not satisfied with it at all. Finally he went to talk to someone else then came back and said we didn't have to pay for it. What a terrible place! I have never been told that it was my fault for having a bad dish from a waiter! Stay clear! read more

I've been coming to Thai Spice for years. It's definitely my favorite Thai place in Sandy and possibly my favorite in SLC. I've never had anything I haven't liked. I really liked the Pad Thai but after branching out I've found their other noodles dishes are even better. My personal favorites are the Pad See Ew and the Thai Spice Noodles. The Massaman curry and the Gai Gha are also dishes I order regularly. The lunch specials are a really delicious good deal. I love this place! read more

Amazingly good food, the owners(and cooks), very friendly Thai people take pride in their food and service. Very cozy family environment. We are here everyday while ski vacationing. The Tom Youm Seafood Spicy soup is as authentic as in Thailand. I could say is indeed the best Thai food I had outside of Thailand. Pad Kra Pao Gai(Basil Chicken) is awesome, just right.
