Came here for a casual weekend dinner with a friend. The shrimp coconut panipuri was really fun to look at -- lots of shrimp, starts off savory and fresh, then leaves a slight sweetness at the end. Never had anything quite like it. The cilantro salad was a standout for me -- super refreshing, light dressing, not greasy or heavy at all. Perfect for summer or as an appetizer. The raw shrimp dish was fresh too. The grilled fish was cooked just right -- not dry at all, very few bones, and the spicy dipping sauce that came with it had a nice kick. Even on its own, the fish was flavorful. The pad thai came wrapped in a net-like egg crepe, which was a nice touch. Noodles were cooked well -- not too dry, not too wet, and the shrimp were generous in size. As for the Thai basil pork rice, the runny egg yolk mixed into the rice was the best part. The pork itself is on the saltier side though, so you really need to eat it with plenty of rice -- wouldn't recommend eating it alone. Overall, a solid meal. Prices are reasonable for Midtown Manhattan. Would come back.

Woah, I was really surprised when I stepped into Thai Pavilion's space. It's two stories, and it's beautifully decorated inside. On a relatively quiet street in Midtown. The classics are average NYC prices, while some of the specialty dishes are higher priced (i.e. the sea bass that is $43), but I felt it was a fair value for the quality and the flavor. The salted egg yolk toast was such a great dessert. I loved the salted egg yolk cream, which is a nice salty and savory combo with the ice cream. I'd definitely come back, especially since it's near a lot of my friends' offices. It's great for a nice dining experience and good food.

Unfortunately, Thai Pavilion suffers from a generic, utterly forgettable name. Fortunately, that's where most of the unfortunates end. In a city at the top of its Thai game, this place is in the upper echelon. I wasn't expecting that. Probably because of the generic forgettability of its name. But it's true. The prices are more reasonable than competitors. The flavors are better than other modern spots. And the vibes are more welcoming than many of the try-hards that saturate the Thai food scene. Get: - Muk Dam Khai Khem: For a unique seafood creation that pairs the ebony glory of squid ink with the bombastic flavors of lemongrass, onion, garlic, and salted egg yolk. Truly one of a kind. - Pla Yang Kluea: Mouth-melting branzino infused with all the Thai chili-tamarind flavors you could want. A classic done right. - Ped Ob Mor Din: Incredibly fragrant and so tender, I thought it was chicken at first. The delicious dried jujubes and lotus root only added textural enhancements. - Tofu Garlic Jien: The biggest surprise for me--$24 for probably $42 worth of food. When was the last time you had THAT in Manhattan? Yes, it's tofu, but it's giant BRICKS of tofu, all smothered in a delectable ginger-garlic sauce that you'll want to drown your sticky rice in. Skip: - Shrimp Coconut Panipuri: Ironically, we thought this would be the most unique thing we ordered. It turned out to be the blandest. - Kra Praw Moo Krob: Not bad, just not remarkable. You get pork two ways, but there isn't a ton of each. Lots of rice and some string beans help, but overall, skip this on your playlist. - Khao Na Phet (or something similar--I forget the exact name): Seared medium rare duck over fried rice. Fine, but nothing exciting either. Save your stomach space for something better.... ....Like dessert! We shared the Toast Salted Egg Yolk and Coconut Ice Cream, and it was all the creamy salted egg mixed with crunchy crackers mixed with chewy bread mixed with frozen coconut flakes you could want. Like dessert-ing in Phuket but less unbearably hot. Their drink menu looked great, but none of us were feeling ethanol-y so we opted for a pot of the Secret Garden and the Koh Samet Sun teas. Get the former (full of ginger flavor), and skip the latter (bland). As for service and ambience, it's on par with many of the other modern Thai establishments but less wannabe and obsequious--so enjoy that too.

I went here for lunch with my family on Sunday and it was amazing! The staff were very friendly, the ambiance was classy & fancy, and the food was delicious! We had the Curry Puff & Taro Spring Rolls for our appetizers. Then Kra Praw Moo Krob, Pad Thai, Branzino, Pad See Ew for our meals. We will definitely be coming back here again

This is one of those restaurants where you should try the appetizers We tried the crab rolls and the shrimp pani puri. Both were great and felt like they nailed it with fusion food. Usually, I'm apprehensive whenever a restaurant does fusion but this was worth it! The crab roll was garlicky and the crab was fresh and sweet with a crema that paired really well. The pani puri shrimp was enjoyable texturally! We also got the classic dish version of pad Thai. The shrimp on top could have done with more flavor but the Char from the grill on it was nice. The dessert we had was a miss. Salted egg with coconut ice cream. The egg flavor was interesting and tasty but the "cake" itself felt like it didn't add much as the ice cream was pretty icy. Our cocktails were standout - we especially enjoyed the milk punch jasmine one! Definitely worth trying Giving 5/5 because the ambiance is really nice, we got to sit upstairs next to the large window

Stopped by for lunch and it was wonderful. The decor is beautiful and service is great. Food came quickly and the pad Thai was delicious with thicker sauce than I'm used to. The green curry was very flavorful and a little spicier than other places. Would definitely come again to try their other dishes.

Look out, NYC...here's another Thai restaurant in the game! Their beautiful interior and attentive staff made our experience really nice, and of course the food was delicious!

I came here for a friend's birthday dinner and we had a lovely time! Service was great and we had an almost private room. It wasn't an actual private room but it was a long table in the back of the second floor so it felt private. They have a big menu and a creative cocktail program. The Jasmine cocktail I had was lovely! I got the duck curry and asked for it to be spicy but it was still mild for me, although my friend said her curry was spicy (she has lower spice tolerance). If you have high spice tolerance, I'd recommend you ask for extra extra spicy and not just extra spicy. The curry was still yummy, but the duck was dry. If I go back, I wouldn't get the duck.

Step Into NYC's Newest Thai Gem! Beautifully plated dishes and vibrant Thai flavors come together in a warm, inviting space. To start, the Pung Puu (Crab Roll) delivers sweet lump crab tucked into a toasted bun with a creamy kick, while the Shrimp Coconut Panipuri is light, crisp, and refreshing -- a vibrant bite to awaken the palate. For mains, the Tom Khlong Sea Bass features tender grilled fillets bathed in a fragrant, tangy Thai broth -- bright and deeply aromatic. The Kra Praw Neua Picanha follows with perfectly seared slices over rice, topped with a luscious egg yolk that adds richness to every bite. Dessert is a must: Salted egg yolk toast paired with coconut ice cream for that sweet-savory finish, plus malt & mango ice cream with rice crispies for a playful crunch. A beautiful new addition to NYC's Thai dining scene -- worth bookmarking. Follow me @foodie.elite on IG and Tiktok for more great finds!

Came here for their lunch special. Very clean and prompt establishment. My food was delicious, I especially liked the dressing on the salad. Very fresh and fruity! I will definitely be back to try different menu items. Server was very nice and efficient. Loved my visit!

It was my first time there but I was expecting the menu I saw online, not this new one. We tried 2 drinks: one inspired by Turkish figs and one inspired by lemons and the "Miracle Berry", which inverts your palate and turns sour into sweet! I really enjoyed both drinks. The figs one came with a sweet fig granola bite and the lemon one really did taste sweet after eating the "Miracle Berry"! I'd definitely come back to try their many other drinks.

I liked how they organized the menu by country/geography to facilitate an understanding of the flavor profiles. I got two of the date & fig-flavored smoked whisky drinks and it was a well made, balanced, and very good. Not cheap at some $25 or something, but middle of Manhattan with some creative ingredients means I guess it is what it is. Servers seemed a bit annoyed to have to deal with us shortly before close as I think they were hoping to usher people out and close down maybe a little early. One the one hand I get it, on the other hand you've got two paying customers on a slow night.

Patent Pending is has such cool speakeasy vibes, think dimmed lighting and candles at each table in a very intimate space. We ordered both the chips and bar nuts to go along with our drinks. And instead of wine, I opted for a cocktail! They have a pretty extensive cocktail menu with all these crazy concoctions. It was dark when we entered the coffee shop but an ajar door gave way to the bar. The decor is a homage to the works of Nikola Tesla, which can be seen in the subtle electric theme throughout the space and the naming of the cocktails. The space isn't too large - the bar and stools take up most of the space but they also have some booths/tables. The place looks great. The cocktail menu is very creative - I got one of their seasonal mixes that was actually two drinks in one. The main cocktail was meant to be sipped first and they provided a small glass of beer to be sipped after. The name escapes me but it was very good. Since we had cocktails at dinner, we only stayed for one round. Service was good, and overall I enjoyed my time at Patent Pending. I would definitely return to explore more of their menu.
