I happened to visit on a warmer day so I was able to see the space with the garage door open. It was golden hour and it had everything all lit up. Very beautiful. Our service was amazing, couldn't have asked for a better server. I can't remember her name but she was so detailed in her descriptions, thoughtful with her suggestions, and had the perfect amount of attentiveness. Now on to the fun parts.... Drinks were a hit! We told our server what we like and they recommended a couple options. I again can't remember the exact name of the drink but mine was a gin cocktail. I'll attach some photos for you. As for the food, every bite I took was delicious. Our table shared the fried brussel sprouts and the ginger miso salad. A very lovely way to ease into our meal on a lighter note. They split up the salad onto two plates for us, which was sweet of them. The portion was pretty good for a $12 salad. Very refreshing. Brussel sprouts were absolutely fire. Get them! Along with that, I also ordered the tempura shrimp maki roll. Inside the roll was cucumber and avocado with giant tempura shrimp right on top, drizzled in spicy mayo. The presentation was cool, a slightly deconstructed version of what I would get somewhere else. There wasn't a single bite left on the plate. I would order all three of these dishes again in a heartbeat. Perfect for a date night or special occasion, but also works for just grabbing a bite with friends. Whenever I find myself back in Indy, Modita will be on my list.

We had a reservation at 6:45, and were sat shortly after that time. The place was busy for a Friday night, and was somewhat loud. Our waitress greeted us quickly, and was on top of things throughout the night. I started off with a ginger miso salad, based on recommendations on this page. Personally, I could have went without the $12 salad. I would have paid more like $6 for the amount of actual salad I got. The dressing was good, but nothing extraordinary. I did ask for no cucumbers- I could taste a faint taste of cucumbers on the salad, so think they just took them off after they were already placed. We split some Bao Buns. These were the highlight of the show. The pork on them was thick, the slaw was fresh, and the bao bun itself was fluffy. We split two dishes for dinner- the short rib and the chicken udon noodles. The chicken udon noodles were fantastic- packed full of flavor and tons of toppings in it. The short rib fell a little short of my expectations, but I had high expectations to begin with. We have had the short rib multiple times in the past- and normally it is a hunk of meat, similar to a roast. Now, it is strips of tiny pieces of meat with a bone attached to it. If the owner/general manager is reading this- GO BACK TO THE ROAST STYLE- the strips of meat was too much work to eat. Still packed full of great flavor though. I had the bridge to Anshun for my drink. I had never had Baiju before, but glad I tried it. It was a tangy drink that was also sweet- would say it's a must try. Overall, some changes since our last visit that weren't expected, but overall had a great evening here. Can't wait to return.

The staff, drinks, food, music and overall atmosphere are consistently exceptional. The cocktail menu is fantastic. My personal favorite is the painkiller - a delicious blend of coconut, rum, orange, pineapple, and nutmeg. It's served in a skull glass and tastes absolutely perfect. I also appreciate that they make their noodles in house! Have you ever had a meal you can't stop thinking about? That's exactly how I feel about the shoyu ramen. It features their noodles, truffle zest, pork belly, egg, veggies and chicken in a deeply flavorful broth. Order a side of rice and dip it into the broth and thank me later! Patio seating available.

I had the mocktail Nohito and it was sooo cute and delicious! The others had cocktails and a bottle of coke (yes glass bottle)- cute right?! Now we had the Karange tofu and I need that recipe! The crispiest most flavorful tofu outside and nice and soft inside. Couldn't tell it wasn't chicken! We also had oysters. For dinner I had the Katsu Curry and it was on point! And the leftovers were just as delicious. My sister had the Tantanmen and it was sooo good!! I could drink that broth. They do give you options for rice instead of noodles and broth if you like options. We also shared the Glazed tofu and yall it will change your LIFE!!! Cute monkeys hanging out everywhere with beautiful string lights and a classy understated tiki vibe. Please go here if you haven't yet. You'll thank me later

India to Indonesia, asians love mango #confirmed Honorable mentions: my friends got the Beef Rendang and Mie Ayam. Both really loved it (some pics here) their dishes! This was my second time trying Indonesian cuisine but my first time venturing out from the more mainstream Satay and certainly won't be my last. The pops of flavor in the Geprek were so awesome and reminded me how fun it is to try new dishes and foods from other cultures. Parking is limited out front but I think there are two additional lots that are close by. I went on a Sunday afternoon and had no issues getting a spot. Service was okay... they were not too busy and we were a table of just 4 people but they forgot my friend's Beef Rendang. Upon asking, they didn't really apologize for forgetting his meal just told us to wait and then they brought it out slightly later. Nobody really came to check on us throughout the meal either. It was not a big deal for me but if you're dining in expecting full service, this may be disappointing for you. Overall the food was delicious and the albiet mediocre service was enough for me to come back and enjoy some more dishes in the near future. Also! There is a fun little market in the restaurant to check out some indonesian snacks and drinks.

Well put our name in with the hostess, she stated the wait was thirty minutes. I specifically asked her do we check back in do we wait, she said check back in and I asked specifically with her again to be sure, she said yes. Not once did she mention anything that we had to literally stay out front or anything. So 25 min went by we went back in and noticed our name was crossed off, she looked at us and said she went to look for us and I reminded her that she specifically said to check back with her in thirty minutes, she seemed confused and then said she'd come get us again in another 20 min ... when I asked her name she paused and I asked again then she gave it. Then I asked for her managers name and she paused longer this time. Aubrey seemed to be a bit overwhelmed and obviously didn't communicate especially when asked specifically about the wait. As the front of the house who see the customers first before being seated I feel that a hostess needs to be a little more comfortable with talking to patrons and being a little more descriptive and direct when asked specific questions about the wait. Lack of communication on her part definitely made the experience very disappointing. Please do better to ASSIST in your duties as a front of house hostess. Acknowledge Smile Step up to serve Interact Support Thank Communication is key. There wasn't any apology, there was no ownership of the poor communication on her part, and there wasn't even a genuine reaction.
