Large portions and reasonably priced! We ate in, plenty of seating. Our food came out fast. They have canned soda you can buy with your food. I really liked my sesame chicken. The crab Rangoon was just okay. I didn't see much crab, just tasted like cream cheese. I would come back read more

Chang Fu used to be our go-to for Chinese food. But we haven't been for awhile. We finally returned today. Chang Fu is in a little strip mall near 465 and Michigan Ave. Most people order carry-out and pick-up which is what we usually do, but today we ate at one of the small tables in the restaurant. They have a great inexpensive lunch menu with traditional Chinese options. You can request spice level to any dish. The clerk is no-nonsense efficient and takes our order. The food is prepared fresh and is worth the wait. I had the shrimp with vegetables with spice. The meal was piping hot (just like I like). The shrimp were plump and juicy. The broccoli and carrots were FRESH. There was a lot of fried rice. The meal was good and filling. My husband had the chicken with vegetables. There was a lot of flavorful chicken. His meal was good. The dining room is kind of a mess. There are lots of empty boxes lined-up in the hall stacked deep. The walls could use some paint and the floors need a good cleaning. Bottom line, great meal, but you need to overlook the mess in the dining room or take your meal home. read more

My department at work ordered from Chang Fu for lunch. Everyone was happy with their orders. We all ordered from the lunch menu and thought the price was very reasonable and the portion was large. I opted for the General Tso's Chicken with fried rice. Sauce was good, and the rice was flavorful. Other coworkers enjoyed their sesame chicken. Order was ready and correct at the time given. We will definitely order from here again. read more

Chang Fu is located in a busy strip mall right off of 96th and Michigan Rd. This is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants. The food is always consistent and the staff is straight forward. Sometimes it's busy and it's best to call ahead. If you don't call ahead it shouldn't take to long to receive your food. My go to is one of the lunch specials. I tend to lean towards the Shrimp & Garlic meal and instead of the rice that comes with the meal I will get shrimp fried rice (extra charge) and add $1 or $2 worth of extra shrimp. I will then go with a plain egg roll or shrimp eggroll. I love this place and give them repeat business on a regular basis. read more

I love this place! I've been coming here for a long time! It's always fresh and hot! I ordered, the boneless spareribs and onion fried rice with chicken wings and crab Rangoon. What keeps me going time after time is the flavors, the sweet tangy sauce, crispy chicken, and tender rice. My order was ready on time which is great service to me. read more

Chang Fu is a pretty run-of-the-mill American Chinese food restaurant. What I can say is that the meals are affordable ($6.95 for lunch specials) and they give large portion sizes. The food itself is nothing special. I tried two of the five lunch specials we got: Curry Chicken w/ Onion - Classic Chinese curry flavor. The onions were crunchy but didn't have the sharp and pungent flavor of raw onion. The chicken was not great - it had a very unpleasant rubbery texture. The closest comparison I can give is an overcooked red snapper. It was possibly tenderized a little too much? Sesame Chicken - Normal (and good) sesame chicken all the way around. Sticky cornstarch thickened sweet and savory sauce. The chicken still retained a small bit of crisp even after being doused with the sauce. We got fried rice with both, which was pretty standard, nothing much to talk about. The strange thing was that we got ordered 5 lunch specials but only got 3 fortune cookies. What's up with that? read more

Friendly service with a smile and good walk-up Chinese food for a good price. This was my second visit for a large order and everything was hot and fresh. Is there better Chinese around? I dunno, but Chang Fu is convenient and hasn't let me down yet. I'll be back. read more

I got a hugeee order of Chinese food from here for our Chinese New Years celebration. They have some good Americanized Chinese dishes. I was a little disappointed with the quality of the food, but it is worth the price you're paying for it! Recommendations: get steamed dumplings, the fried were a little too dry for my taste. GET the Mushu pork! If you've never had, it's super fun, you wrap up the pork and onions in a little asian pancake with hoisin sauce. This was my favorite authentic dish we got, very delish even warmed up for leftovers! Chicken fried rice (not pictured) was pretty good too. The hot and sour soup was a little thick we watered it down a bit to get the right consistency. Servings are HUGE we have so many leftovers! A plus: they gave us plenty of free white rice and fortune cookies which I love. The fortunes were pretty funny read more

Be careful. Web menu is old and prices have nearly doubled over 2 years. Not worth it anymore.

Tasty food. Fairly quick service and they got the order correct. O line order h experience. Reasonably priced. Will be back.

My favorite to go Chinese near Carmel. Owners are great, food is even better, ambience... take it Togo. Best fried wings in town. It's nostalgic for me. Reminds me of NY Chinese food. read more

Rainy night...this calls for Chinese takeaway! Opted for #89. Bean Curd W. Szechuan Style from Chang Fu. A vibrantly red sauce with a hint of spice, and I added broccoli for good measure. (which had a nice fresh crunch to it) Not pictured - because it was quickly devoured: vegetable egg roll. Super crispy, not greasy and full of flavor. When I walked in to pick it up, they were washing a super fresh looking bunch of bok choy - a great sign! Hot, fresh and delish...not always easy with Chinese food. read more

The chicken taste like rubber. Crab rangoon and moo shoo pork were okay. Will not go back.

My employer ordered food from this place so we got takeout and it was absolutely delicious! I had shrimp and broccoli and I also had their egg drop soup; they did not have brown rice but their white rice was delicious and cooked perfectly. What I like most about it is that the sauces were nice and light and yet delicious and I was able to enjoy this meal and still lose weight I lost 5.5 pounds during the month of March getting off some of my COVID-19 weight! I also got both vaccines so I am healthy and looking forward to my next Chinese meal at Chang Fu!!!! read more

I used to drive way across town to get Chinese food and over the years hey have fallen off. Hit or miss. I went here once with a friend and got my frown first order tonight and it was absolutely delicious and I am so happy to say I have found a NEW spot so much closer to home. Would have attached photos but it's down the hatch read more

What happens when you go somewhere without reading the Yelp reviews? That, my friend, is how adventures happen. Rob and I just happened upon this small carry-out joint, all wide-eyed and starving one dusky evening. I admit my skepticism, especially when it comes to trying a restaurant I haven't thoroughly researched online beforehand. It's a basic setup, with the traditional menu and a few simple tables for your dining pleasure. I ordered the rice noodles (maifun) and Rob needed his orange chicken fix. We dined in so we could chat while we ate. Everything tasted so fresh and authentic, and the portions of our meals were HUGE for the price! Lots of yummy leftovers. We looked at each other with this mutual feeling of discovery. Without the help of Mr. Internet, we found a place we loved simply by going there! Rocking it out, old school, yo. read more

Love this place, must try their fried rice and chicken wings ! That's one of my favorite dishes they sell.

Ordered the noodles, chicken with mixed veggies, and a few other broccoli dishes that all tasted great and weren't too oily. My family and I were very satisfied with our meal, and the prices are good. Perfect for a quick and tasty takeout meal! read more

Chang Fu was recommend by a co-worker. My favorite place to get Beef and Broccoli and Crab Rangoons has changed and the food is not as good. Chang Fu : Crab Rangoons were good and a nice size. Priced low for an order of 6. Beef and Broccoli although I like food with very litte extra things mixed in this was just beef and broccoli with oyster sauce. No carrots, bamboo shoots, waterchest nuts nothing extra. The beef was not at all tender infact a bit chewey. I actually ended up just eating the broccoli. The broccoli was on the edge of being over cooked. The fried rice did have onion, and peas in it and was pretty good. For the price less then 10$ is was a good deal. Friendly and fast service. I would go back for the Rangoons. read more

Always great! Have been going to Chang Fu for many years and have never been let down, would recommend them 100%!!

Came to eat with my 18yo son. He had general tso and I had moo sho shrimp. We both admit this is some of the best Chinese (American) food we have had in a very long time and we eat Chinese often. After watching the characters on Big Bang Theory chow down on takeout (time to catch up on missed episodes), we were missing the spot by our old house and were in search for a new takeout place. We were not disappointed. We popped in on a Saturday evening. The menu was very similar to other places (e.g. Hong Kong near Southport) and included our favorites: Mei fun, General Tso, Chicken with Mixed Vegetables, Steamed Dumplings, and Crab Rangoon. We also ordered a pint of Hot and Sour soup (typically the test of a good restaurant). Everything was delicious...not too greasy, not too heavy on the sauce. I am very picky about my chicken (in fact, I typically don't eat it at most Chinese places), but the chicken in the Chicken with Mixed Vegetables was very good. I also managed to nab a few pieces of General Tsao's. It was nicely sweet. The hot and sour soup was very good - the right mix of hot with sour - and I liked their crunchy noodles. They were almost like thin strips and were not greasy. We will definitely make this part of the rotation! read more

I got carry out from here and the food tastes phenomenal! I order the large Quart portion of the shrimp lo mein ($8.75), small egg drop soup ($1.95), and a small serving of white rice ($2.00). Will definitely order from here again! I gave it 4/5 stars because over the phone I did not get a total so I came in to get my food without knowing how much to pay beforehand ($13.84 with tax. I'd give it five stars, but it doesn't deliver. In ten minutes flat though, my husband and I can have all of our faves for under $25. Sweet and sour soup, crab rangoons, beef lomeine, sweet and sour chicken, broccoli chicken and general tso's, two pints of white rice and one of fried. And, don't forget the fortune cookies. YUM. Quick, fresh, great. And, they know us. :) If I come in, she is writing my order down as soon as she sees my car in pull in front of the strip mall. They are AWESOME. :) I am addicted and eat here probably once a week! Get it, take it home and enjoy it all evening... read more
