Chang Fu used to be our go-to for Chinese food. But we haven't been for awhile. We finally returned today. Chang Fu is in a little strip mall near 465 and Michigan Ave. Most people order carry-out and pick-up which is what we usually do, but today we ate at one of the small tables in the restaurant. They have a great inexpensive lunch menu with traditional Chinese options. You can request spice level to any dish. The clerk is no-nonsense efficient and takes our order. The food is prepared fresh and is worth the wait. I had the shrimp with vegetables with spice. The meal was piping hot (just like I like). The shrimp were plump and juicy. The broccoli and carrots were FRESH. There was a lot of fried rice. The meal was good and filling. My husband had the chicken with vegetables. There was a lot of flavorful chicken. His meal was good. The dining room is kind of a mess. There are lots of empty boxes lined-up in the hall stacked deep. The walls could use some paint and the floors need a good cleaning. Bottom line, great meal, but you need to overlook the mess in the dining room or take your meal home.

Chang Fu is located in a busy strip mall right off of 96th and Michigan Rd. This is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants. The food is always consistent and the staff is straight forward. Sometimes it's busy and it's best to call ahead. If you don't call ahead it shouldn't take to long to receive your food. My go to is one of the lunch specials. I tend to lean towards the Shrimp & Garlic meal and instead of the rice that comes with the meal I will get shrimp fried rice (extra charge) and add $1 or $2 worth of extra shrimp. I will then go with a plain egg roll or shrimp eggroll. I love this place and give them repeat business on a regular basis.

I love this place! I've been coming here for a long time! It's always fresh and hot! I ordered, the boneless spareribs and onion fried rice with chicken wings and crab Rangoon. What keeps me going time after time is the flavors, the sweet tangy sauce, crispy chicken, and tender rice. My order was ready on time which is great service to me.

Chang Fu is a pretty run-of-the-mill American Chinese food restaurant. What I can say is that the meals are affordable ($6.95 for lunch specials) and they give large portion sizes. The food itself is nothing special. I tried two of the five lunch specials we got: Curry Chicken w/ Onion - Classic Chinese curry flavor. The onions were crunchy but didn't have the sharp and pungent flavor of raw onion. The chicken was not great - it had a very unpleasant rubbery texture. The closest comparison I can give is an overcooked red snapper. It was possibly tenderized a little too much? Sesame Chicken - Normal (and good) sesame chicken all the way around. Sticky cornstarch thickened sweet and savory sauce. The chicken still retained a small bit of crisp even after being doused with the sauce. We got fried rice with both, which was pretty standard, nothing much to talk about. The strange thing was that we got ordered 5 lunch specials but only got 3 fortune cookies. What's up with that?

Chang Fu has been around for so long because it's tasty and reliable. It's in a convenient location for lots of folks and has ample parking! My husband loves their Szechuan Chicken which is packed with veggies and sauce.

I got a hugeee order of Chinese food from here for our Chinese New Years celebration. They have some good Americanized Chinese dishes. I was a little disappointed with the quality of the food, but it is worth the price you're paying for it! Recommendations: get steamed dumplings, the fried were a little too dry for my taste. GET the Mushu pork! If you've never had, it's super fun, you wrap up the pork and onions in a little asian pancake with hoisin sauce. This was my favorite authentic dish we got, very delish even warmed up for leftovers! Chicken fried rice (not pictured) was pretty good too. The hot and sour soup was a little thick we watered it down a bit to get the right consistency. Servings are HUGE we have so many leftovers! A plus: they gave us plenty of free white rice and fortune cookies which I love. The fortunes were pretty funny

Maybe not the place to go for a sit down experience, but as a Chinese takeout place, this checks all my boxes. Great food, fast service, and generous portions.

Chang Fu is my go to Chinese resturant. They are always so friendly and food is great! Tonight I had a pork egg roll and beef and broccoli ( my favorite). Tasty and hit the spot!!!

My husband thought this West side location would be nicer and less of a cheap atmosphere. We were welcomed right away and taken to a booth in the bar. It was private and the table was large. Our waitress was also the bartender. She did a great job as she kept an eye on us and also her bar responsibilities. We had the Red and Black. This entree was for two. We added 1/2lb of sausage. We had two large lobster tails. Snow crab with huge meaty legs. About 2 dozen shrimp, mussels and potatoes as well as corn on the cob. All was delicious. We were pleased with our meal and enjoyed all the juicy sauce associated with it I would give this restaurant 5 stars but the building and decoration, etc are dated and the atmosphere is that of a cheap restaurant. Will we go back? You betcha just not right away. Too much fresh seafood to eat on a regular basis

This is definitely one of those restaurants that for us as a family, everyone can find something on the menu suited to their likes. My youngest got a kids steak which came with fries and a side of macaroni. He ate everything and we helped him finish his ample fries and macaroni. My oldest got the cioppino which he had never gotten before but LOVED. My hubby got the scallops on risotto, on menu as seafood risotto. Risotto had lobster in it. He loved this. And I got the grouper which I order almost every time and it hits every single time. Dessert was brownie and butter cake. The butter cake was comped for StepFathers Day which was a lovely gesture. Because it was extremely hot, we sat at the only truly shaded table, only to be told it was for parties larger than two.
