This is the best Thai food in Dallas! It's hard to find a good restaurant in this area but this place knocks it out of the park! Not only is the food outstanding the service is impeccable! It's rare to find a place that has both! And it's BYOB! This place is a must! read more

This place deserves its five star reputation for offering the best Thai food in Dallas. The atmosphere is acceptable and the service is accommodating but that isn't why you're here. You're here for the food. And the food is exceptional. Pad Thai is spicy and flavorful, not sweet but spicy with a delicious sear. Thom Kha Gai is delicious, again not too sweet but wonderfully full of coconut. Pad Kee Mao (spicy basil noodle) is perfectly seared. I've eaten here three times now and each time is better than the last. read more

SO good! Susan is the best waitress- a silly girl with a fun personality! She helps you decide what to order, too!

Absolutely delicious. We had the fried spring roll. We loves the sweet and sour sauce. Then we both got the pad Thai. I got beef and my wife got tofu. Delicious flavor. Not to dry. Just right. I ordered mine medium and there wasn't much heat at all but the favors were still really good. read more

Delicious red curry, Thai basil noodles and Tom Kha soup. Everything we ordered was great with just the right amount of heat.

I've been to Thai Opal a few times now, and I've yet to be let down by the food or the experience. Each dish I've tried has always been excellent in taste and presentation. They clearly care a lot about the quality of their food and the service you get. It's even replaced my top choice for Thai food in Dallas (one that has been rated number 1 in Dallas). If you're looking for a great Thai option to add to your rotation, this is a must! I'll be recommending it to all my friends. read more

Immaculate with friendly staff, attention to small details and the food knocked our socks off. You can tell they really care about the experience. Everything we've eaten was wonderful. We've had the crab Rangoon, corn patties, Thai basil, Chicken with cashews, spicy peanut, etc. What a great little gem in Lake Highlands. Prices were so reasonable for the quality. So glad we found this place! read more

Great hidden gem at the corner of Skillman and Abrams. Inside of a strip mall, but don't be turned off by that. Fresh food. Great flavors. Solid service. Small and cozy on the inside. It's BYOB (for now). read more

This amazing gem is hidden less than a mile from the village. The food is out of this world. It's crazy that we were missing this for such a long time. I will highly recommend the thai food lovers to come enjoy this. read more

Best Thai food I've had in Dallas thus far.. Service is a bit lacking but overall experience is great.

My girlfriend and I have been ordering takeout from Thai Opal for over a year now; our Beef Spicy Basil Noodles are always fantastic, and the delivery persons are always so nice and prompt. Having said that, this review is actually for our first dine-in experience last night. We were in a rush because we needed to catch a show downtown around 7:30; so around 6:15 we called Thai Opal and said that we would arrive to eat around 6:30 and that we would bring wine. The hostess was very sweet and sounded excited to take our reservation on such short notice. To our pleasant surprise, when we arrived at 6:30 she had already set our table with wine glasses and had even filled our water glass with ice and water! Then, when I requested that we be out the door by 7pm so that we could catch our show, she obliged and our order was out within 5 minutes. The service was so prompt and the waitress hustled so hard that my girlfriend and I had a few extra minutes to sip our wine and chat. In addition, the restaurant itself is very cozy and comfortable. The booths have pillows to lean back on and my girlfriend made a comment how tasteful she thought their Christmas decorations were. Overall a great experience, where we gained much more value than what we paid. read more

This place is a find. We have been here many times and I haven't found anything that wasn't delicious. The Tom KAH soup with or without noodles is to die for. Fabulous Currys, delicious and edsmam like you've never had; it is seared with garlic and soy and is absolutely fabulous. the noodle dishes are equally delicious. It has a great atmosphere and the owner is so personable she talks to people at every table. Love this place!! read more

This place has a relaxing atmosphere, delicious food, and very clean bathrooms. We will come back again! Husband had Mongolian beef and liked it. The plate presentation was beautiful. I had the Tom Kha soup and crab Rangoon and thought they were delicious. read more

First time here! Ordered the house cab and pad Thai. Pass on house cab but the pad Thai was excellent! Great flavor! Service was attentive and our waitress was very nice. Can't wait to go back and try the curry! read more

I had food delivered from Thai Opal for the first time tonight. It was so good! I ordered my usual spicy basil noddles w chicken and corn patties. I generally order medium to spicy because I've found the spice to lacking at times. Thai Opal's food had the perfect amount of spice. I feel like I've been to pretty much every Thai restaurant in the area but Thai Opal is new favorite. I'll definitely be ordering from them again. Hopefully, I'll get to make it into their restaurant soon too! read more

So this was my go to place for Thai near my office. Today I decided to order curry with shrimp.(not the usual) When my plate arrived the shrimp was not clean, most of them were not deveined, it was disgusting. I returned the plate, and got my bill for the entire meal plus the upcharge of the shrimp, I think the least they could do was not to charge me for the shrimp. The usual hostess/waitress that I know wasn't there today unfortunately. Probably wont come here again. read more

Fantastic food. Ample portions. Great flavor. Pretty presentation. Can't wait to come back. Wonton soup was outstanding!

This place is great. Any time I want some Thai food this place is my go to. My favorite is the basil noodle with beef . They have spicy and they rate it from 1-5 and I always get 3 and it is perfect!!! read more

lovely food, horrible experience. I have been here multiple times, and always found the food excellent. However, the service is slow and they ignore patrons after seating them. We have always tolerated the service because the curry is amazing. During Coronavirus, we ordered delivery, and discovered that the delivery service is even worse than the in house service. I ordered 5 entrees, and only 1 order was correct. The put tofu in a chicken dish, gave us Mongolian beef for an orange chicken, and mixed up the spice level on 2 of the curries. They then sent the driver back to get the order correct, and he spoke limited English and could not convey to the owner what the problem was. The owner then called me, but she also could not understand what the problem was. I am a physician with 4 hungry kids home from school. The frustration of dealing with these people after a long day with sick patients was just too much, and I finally told her to forget it. My children went hungry, and we all ended up eating peanut butter sandwiches. I will NEVER order from this place again. Very poor customer service, 97 dollars wasted. read more

Easily one of my favorite Thai places in the city! The quality of the food here is outstanding and the service is on point. I first experienced this place via take out but the food is much better as a dinein experience. Their Tom Kha soup was some of the best I've ever had. Very rich and creamy coconut flavor which was strong but didn't overpower the other flavors on the soup. The steamed dumplings were also very good and could tell the were made in house. pad woon sen and spicy basil noodle are two of my favorites at this place. The flavors all were strong but well balanced and the level of heat was perfect. One thing to consider is their scale of 1-5 for heat is on the thai scale. Where I would typically get 5 at any other this place in town, I only go up to about 2 here. I think I burned a tonsil the last time I got a 5. read more

It is da bomb! awesome friendly and sexy staff... Cant go wrong wtih spring rolls, crab rangoon, pad se ew, any fried rice, green or musaman curry. Try the lunch bento box for $13.... including soup which rarely travels out of an Asian restaurant as part of a lunch plate. Both pickup and delivery are quick. And they take Paypal. WOOF! read more

I ordered the Pad See Ew for dinner takeout. It was delicious and one of the best I've tried in Dallas so far! The noodles were evenly coated with sauce which is important with these types of noodles and they were not broken up in small pieces like some places. The portion size was large enough for two meals. There was a nice amount of broccoli and chicken. The food was well packaged. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive even with the large amount of to-go orders when I arrived. Highly recommend! read more

I ordered take out and was beyond disappointed...food was awful and expensive...I could not even eat the food. Will not be back

This place is always packed with people because of how good it is. The green curry and rice noodle dish was so good. It's not very often that you come across a great Thai food restaurant like Thai Opal. read more

This place is really good. This is my second time here and I've eaten here and both times it has been great. I've eaten Mongolian beef and ginger chicken medium spicy and enjoy it. The edamame are sautéed which I've never had before but it was a good alternative to steamed. I will come back again and again. Even the candy they give you is good. read more

This was a really good Thai restaurant. The atmosphere was pleasant and the food was great. I normally don't like Pad Thai, but theirs was very tasty. read more

Okay, this restaurant may not serve authentic Thai food, but their food is close to authentic recipe. Since many Thai restaurant are somewhat a fusion restaurant, I didn't expect their dishes to be so great. For appetizer, I ordered Sautéed Endamame beans. If you expected it to be endamame beans sautéed in oil with a pinch of salt, you've mistaken. This Sautéed Endamame beans are sautéed with garlic which give it a thai kick, and is different from other restaurants. For entrée, I ordered Shrimp Lad Nah, and my mom ordered Shrimp Pad Thai. I have to admit that it tastes amazing. The sauce has the right consistency, and the noodles are soft and has subtle flavor. For Pad Thai, I have to say that the Pad Thai is a bit saucy which over powers other flavors a little, but it still has all pf the flavor you find in authentic Pad Thai. What I absolutely love about these dishes are how hot they were when served. I remembered the last time I ate Lad Nah in a well known Thai restaurant, the sauce was clearly pre-made way before and just poured over before served. Thai Opal's Lad Nah's sauce is very hot (caution: hot) that it seems like they freshly made the sauce just before served (mix the starch to the broth) which is how Lad Nah is usually served in Thailand. Pad Thai was hot as well, which is great. The shrimps were cooked perfectly, and were not over cooked. As for the aesthetic, the plates were nicely decorated with noodles of carrots and orchid blooms. For dessert, my mom and I shared a scoop of Green Tea ice-cream and a scoop of Coconut ice-cream. In my opinion, coconut ice-cream doesn't have a lot of flavor to the point where I wouldn't be able to tell if it wasn't for the name. The Green Tea ice-cream is a bit bitter side. read more

I didn't get the opportunity to eat their food because I walked in with a 2 year old who was "pressed for the loo" and the assumption was made that I wasn't going to be a paying customer. I felt profiled and embarrased and doubt I'll ever try this restaurant as much as I love Thai food. I'll stick to Thai ginger http://www.gingerthai.net/ I believe a customer is ANYONE who walks through your doors. ANYONE! read more

I love Thai Opal! I have been a frequent visitor for a little over a year and I am always happy. I order delivery more often than I visit the restaurant and my orders are always correct and arrive in around 30 minutes. I love that this restaurant does not cook everything in fish oil. I hate when all of my food tastes like fish because of the oil. I enjoy visiting the restaurant as well. The owner remembers her patrons and will always stop to chat with you. read more

Very tasty food and great atmosphere. Had a blast and can't wait to go back. The Duck Curry is packed full of flavor and is absolutely delicious. read more

Could be the best Thai food I've ever had. Super clean restaurant and a cozy environment. It's b.y.o.b and the crab Rangoon is perfect. Curried duck is my favorite entrée. You won't be disappointed for sure. Bon apetit! read more

I want to brag on this restaurant! In two months I have visited four times. The quality is excellent...from food- environment- staff. To compare I have tried two other Thai restaurants: hands down the best. Susan the owner and chef personally greets you and converses at tableside. I personally prefer especially fiery dishes and she accomodates my request of "10 star" heat level. From heart shaped rice molds to beautiful lily blooms on entree plate the decor is inviting. I've tried several curry dishes. I will not look further, I've found my favorite Thai restaurant! Can't wait until next meal.... Jana S read more

Wonderful! This place was recommended by someone I work with who is from Thailand. Finally tried it and it was delicious. Vegetarian, so sometimes I struggle making sure that my food is what it's supposed to be, but it was. The staff is so polite and inviting. It's always extremely clean! So far the best Thai that I've had in Dallas! They checked on me more than once to make sure I had liked my vegetarian plate which they put together for me! read more

Seriously one of the best Thai restaurants I have been to. The flavors in everything we ate were amazing. The shrimp and calamari we done perfectly. The spices in the dishes were wonderful. Bee, our server, was amazing and was so engaging. She really helped us with selecting the dishes and told us what her favorites were. When in Dallas again, I'll make a point to come back. So good. read more

Great food and service. A little pricey. Deep fried bananas & coconut ice cream a fabulous dessert!

Great food and service. My kids were being loud while we were waiting for our food and they brought them some free fried rice in small bowls. Great atmosphere, clean, and all waitresses had a smile on their face. We had Pad Thai, yellow curry, and pot stickers. Pad Thai was above average, but the yellow curry was ON POINT! read more

I had red curry and sweet sticky rice with mango. The food tastes good, but the amount of meat in the food is not substantial.

This is probably my favorite Thai restaurant, and I have tried quite a few places between here and Los Angeles. It's as close to the Thai food I ate in Thailand that locals cooked, except i don't have to pick bugs out of my sticky rice ;) It's our Sunday night tradition to order delivery from here, and its quick and always comes hot! Dining in is also nice. Make sure to get extra peanuts for the pad Thai- that's the best part! :) read more

Dallas' finest Thai restaurant for sure! The food is simply divine -- it's authentic, fresh and great-tasting! Staff is awesome, they were even playing with my kids. read more
