This place is a fantastic take-out option for delicious Thai in the area. Pad see ewe is soo good.

Great service, even better food. I just left the tip! Nice and quaint place. Would recommend and will return when I feel like Thai. I will never leave less than just the tip! read more

Super speedy service! Delicious food and some awesome healthy options. I'm just made I didn't find out about this place sooner. Had the Thai basil fried rice and was not disappointed! Can't wait to try the curry next time! read more

This spot was one of my friends' favorite Thai restaurant and I can see why. The food was really good, portion generous, and price reasonable. It was really clean and I appreciated the hand sanitizers on every table. I got the glass noodle curry and my friend got the spicy basil noodle and they were both good! The only thing was that the server spilled some of my food on the table while serving it. He did apologize but didn't clean or replace it. It wasn't much though so it wasn't that big of a deal and the food was good! read more

Yelp had wonderful reviews and not from Texas so trusted Yelp and went with it. Service was wonderful. Had very cute interior decorations. When seated was given a steamed washcloth and had no idea what to do with it... Assumed it was to clean our hands. Ordered Mongolian chicken and my friend ordered chicken pad see eew. Both of ordered Thai iced tea. Amazing food!! Staff made sure everything was good and really attentive. Definitely recommend to those around the area! It's a must try read more

We stopped in at 9:30 on a Saturday night, and the staff was so gracious to host us even though it was close to closing time. We ordered spring rolls, Tom yum soup, and chicken fried rice. All food was delicious. Among other things, the atmosphere was very relaxing. The place is clean and new. We will be back!! read more

This place does everything right! I ordered carry out this afternoon and everything was delicious - crab rangoon, the salad and soup appetizers, Basil Noodle (which will feed me again for dinner) and hubby's green curry that I got to taste. Moreover, they package everything very well so that even after I got home 25 min later everything was still piping hot- magic! Will be ordering from here again soon! read more

Delicious Thai food and best service they very friendly I love this thai place all are perfect read more

Had lunch today at Thai Opal and have to say i was impressed. Place was spotless and the two ladies seemed to take great pride in cleaning up hastily in-between services. The place was bright, clean, and tastefully decorated. The place was empty when we arrived except for another couple. Service was spot on and our server quiet attentive. Coming to the food, we ordered the tom yum soup, chicken spring rolls, and basil fried rice chicken. Out of the three things we ordered the soup comes in first... flavors were very refreshing and really lived up to the mark of what is expected in good thai food. The spring rolls however was lacking any sort of meat and seemed rather a doughy greasy mess (I would avoid this) The fried rice was definitely a hit and again quiet standard but lived up to the mark on all counts. All in all a good spot to hit that thai craving even though it wasn't anything spectacular, i will be visiting this place again and it'll probably be one of my regular spots in rotation. read more

The food and ambience was nice and so was the service. The food was a bit more sweeter compared to other Thai food places we have tried. So that was a but disappointing. All in all it was a great experience. read more

Thai Opal - Thai Near Me - Dallas, Texas

Thai Opal is hands down our favorite Thai restaurant. Everything on the menu is good, just be careful with the selecting the hottest option.

Friendly staff but this place has to work on service and it seems like they need more staff and can't keep up with pick up orders and dine in customers. This was our first time here and our dinner entrees were very small portions with very little meat. I ordered extra chicken after I was served my entree and it never came so I cancelled it. The mango sticky rice was served with semi sweet /semi sour mangos. Not my idea of sticky rice with mangos. Wish we could give them more stars but we were not impressed. read more

I'm new to the neighborhood and gave Thai Opal a try. My go to Thai dish is Panang Curry with soft (not fried) tofu. I ordered takeout and the service was speedy (food was ready 20 minutes from when I called) and the food was good. I asked for "medium spice," and it was quite hot, but enjoyable. The woman who answered the phone when I called was a bit rude. I have a name that many people struggle to spell, so when she asked for my name, I said it, and then spelled it. She sharply interrupted me and said something like "OK OK I got it!" When I asked for soft tofu, she said that tofu only came one way. I asked if it was fried, and then she said something harshly (I'm not sure what...). In the end, the tofu was how I wanted it. There are lots of choices for Thai food, so I'm not sure I'd order from Thai Opal again, or just go somewhere else. read more

Super cute setting ~ love the decorations~ not to mention the food was just hitting all the right spots!!!! Only 1 waitress there so it was a little slow~ but man!!! Was it awesome!!! read more

I see a lot of GREAT reviews for this place, but I'd say that the food was just mediocre to me. I hate giving poor reviews, so I'll say that the atmosphere and the staff were very nice and positive. That goes a long way. We ordered the Pad Kee Mow (called something else on their menu) and Thai Basil Fried Rice. The Pad Kee Mow was just decent - mild flavor, not much to get excited about. The Fried Rice was bland with almost no taste. We tried to have them bring spices 3 different times and nothing worked. Both were very good portions, which is also a plus. Maybe they have other dishes are great there. It's worth a shot - it wasn't bad read more

The food here is always delicious, and the atmosphere is also nice. This is where I go whenever I want Thai food. I highly recommend it.

The food is delicious, the customer service is wonderful!! Susan has a great personality. We came from out of town, but will definitely return before we leave. read more

What a disaster! Ordered takeout and the restaurant never made our order. When I asked for a refund staff was incredulous and refused. I was asked behind the counter to demonstrate how a refund was impossible and ended up processing my own refund. I would have much rather gotten my order as promised instead of having the restaurant attempt to retain the sales from my order without actually providing food. Would not recommend. read more

I went to Thai Opal for some take out. I LOVE Thai food and have been having a hard time finding good Thai in Dallas since I moved here. I've tried many places, but Thai Opal was by far the best! It was absolutely delicious and very authentic! I ordered corn fritters which were really good ans panang curry and it was perfectly seasoned with the right amount of spice. Not only was the food great but the service was great too. I didn't call ahead for my food. I just showed up and ordered. So while I waited, the waitress gave me a glass of ice water and seated. She checked on me several times to make sure I was okay and to give me an update on my food. The wait went by so fast because she was so attentive. I will definitely be returning to Thai Opal again and will definitely recommend it. read more

We ordered take out tonight and it was not as good as I remember Thia Opal to be. The green curry was very sweet and brown colored. It also seemed a little slimy like thickened with starch. I didn't try my husbands fried rice but he mentioned to me he didn't like it. I'm giving this place 4 stars because I think it is usually good from what I remember. I'd give it one more try. read more

Although I would prefer to eat at the restaurant, we are choosing to stay safe at home. Luckily Thai Opal delivers their awesomeness to our house. My son loves the orange chicken. I always opt for a noodle dish. Always get a salad with the ginger dressing it's the best. Love, love, love this food. Thank you Miss Suzy. We love you too. read more

Great Asian food!! Loved pad Thai noodles, coconut soup and spring rolls. Serving size were generous. Loved mango tea!! I will return for great food ! Ordered take out and was happy with restaurant response. read more

Mongolian Beef was delicious! Yellow curry with rice was awesome. The staff was friendly and attentive. The tofu salad rolls were just ok, good, but were lacking something extra. The peanut sauce made up for it, however. The ambiance was cozy, clean and not too rowdy. We will be coming back! read more

Overall the food was good. I had the green curry with steamed tofu and veggies - and the flavor was delightful. It was the most green I've ever seen in this dish though, which was a little odd. But I'd eat it again :) read more

This is the best Thai food I've ever had. It's a total hole-in-the-wall but it's delicious. It's very unsuspecting from the out side but once inside you'll feel at home. The owners super nice as well and clearly cares about customers experience. read more

Stopped by for lunch and the service was great and the spicy Thai basil chicken was delicious! Can't wait to try more things off their menu

Great food, service was attentive and very helpful with our toddler (they brought him fried noodles to eat and play with)! It appears many people order takeout from here but the atmosphere for dining in is also great with nice lighting, beautiful fresh flowers on our plates and cozy ambiance. BYOB for now. read more

My fiancée and I eat here almost every week. We started going back when it was BYOB and haven't eaten a bad meal here once! A few go to meals: - red curry with steamed rice - spicy basil and rice - flat noodles - spicy seafood soup Like I said we've had almost every item on the menu and have never been disappointed. Definitely save room for the sticky rice and mango dessert! Fried bananas are also great! read more

New to the area and tried this place bc of reviews on Yelp. The restaurant was clean. The food was all fresh. I was pleasantly surprised the shrimp was fresh. We got the Tom Yum soup, Pad Thai, Garlic Chicken, fried rice and fresh shrimp rolls for appetizer. The food was all very good and we paid about $45 for two after tip. Service was excellent. My only negative is the place isn't in a very nice area. We sat outside for 15mins deliberating if we even wanted to go since it was next door to a family dollar and washeteria. But there were five cop cars outside and they always know the best places to eat. So we went. I'm glad we did. I just wish I hadn't gotten dressed up to go. Went to Wolfgang's for ambiance afterward. read more

Most consistent/tasty Thai food I have found close to "East Dallas". Check it out!!!!!

I have used Thai opal as delivery service for a long time and always enjoyed it. Today we decided to dine in. 2 adults and 3 kids ( my kids always have great manner at restaurants and we always order adult portions for them. ) I really felt like they didn't like to service us because of having kids at our table. Foods took forever to come out, matter fact we saw many other tables come in after us and leaving before our foods were arrived. Water didn't get re filled unless we asked. We were really excited to treat our kids out for Valentine's Day but service totally ruined the day. I'm not sure if we will dine in here again. read more

We are huge fans. The interior updates are terrific. Susan has done a fantastic job of making her restaurant the premier Thai restaurant experience in Texas. She has spared no expense in seeing to the health and safety of her customers during these trying times. read more

We did take-out for 3, 2 adults and a 5 year old, and spent $88 last night, May 22, 2020. Food was terrible. We had the Tamarind Shrimp - it was is A SOGGY MESS - Heavily breaded shrimp was FLOATING in a soupy sauce and totally water-logged. My Mongolian Beef was bland, I asked for medium spicy and it had no spice at all and seemed to be from PACKAGED PRE-CLICED MEAT, AND AGAIN IN A SOUPY MESS OF SOGGY PEPPERS AND ONION. Looked, smelled, and tasted like bad high school cafeteria food. read more

Came here with a friend, both for our first time. Got there an hour before closing (hate being those people), but the staff was so friendly and welcoming. And the restaurant only got better when the food came out. We had the lettuce wraps as an app, and i had some of the best pad thai i've had. Will definitely be back! read more
